At this point I'm convinced that the Kurt balls are intentionally programmed wrong
It has to be a running joke at GF lmao😂
Kurt's just not very good at what he does, clearly.
What would've been like if Kurt's Pokeballs did work as intended?
They are absolutely messing with us at this point. When it comes to the glitches they actually can't get it right. So they make them obscenely rare.
But if it means that we have more instances of Pokéballs acting like the Hisui balls in future legends games, I guess that at least makes up for it somewhat in a different way.
@@FEVBRight behind the guy who FUCKING HATES FLAREON AND REGIGAS! 😆💢
Love the idea that Kurt balls are just consistently either bad or faulty
As annoying as it is, there’s definitely some humour in them almost always be the ones with issues
a lot of catching mechanics gen 1-4 simply do not function as intended. for example great balls are better than ultra in RBY.
lyra has in-depth videos on the topic if anyone interested:D
Lyra’s videos are great, I also recommend them!
Well, they ARE handmade! It's kinda funny to imagine Kurt's craftsmanship has either always been lacking, or he's just phoning them in, and nobody has noticed enough to call him out on it.
So there isn't a single pokemon game where all the pokeballs function as intended
I guess pokemon Legends Arceus is the only one as yeah Gen 1 had broken the great and ultra balls due to some weird mechanics with the calculation.
Almost all the games have some bug that directly contradicts in game text
It's insane to me that there's 3 balls dedicated to water types and none for any other type yet (aside from net being for bug too). They really gotta start making balls that are good for catching other types. Or even give some of the existing balls a secondary effect, like the moonball could be good on dark types and the duskball could be good on ghost, etc. I just think it'd be great to have balls that match the pokemon types and dont know why they haven't done this yet.
I agree. I could understand one pokeball dedicated to water type Pokémon due to there being so many, but 3 is definitely overkill. Really like the idea of giving balls like the moon ball getting repurposed, could even have like the fast ball work well against electric types, it already has a lightning bolt on it
Shiny Umbreon should be required by law to be caught with a Moon Ball
Well it's less Water Types, and moreso the mechanics of surfing, diving, and fishing. But yeah there definitely should be more Type bases balls. Also weird we never got a Sun Ball to match the Moon Ball, which should both work under the moon and sun respectively.
I like the dive ball aesthetic. So I use that to catch non water types and pokemon not in water. Just for fun!
I would make moon ball good against not just Pokemon that evolve with a moon stone, but any space-oriented pokemon
My favorite is probably the Premier Ball just because it's kind of a status symbol.
It's like, yeah, I could have used an Ultra Ball, but instead I decided to use a more expensive ball with a worse catch rate, just because it looks nice.
I am also a pretty big fan of the premier ball, being my ball of choice when I shiny hunt mythicals in bdsp
Aren't Premier balls literally free
This is what people who always keep asking for a feature that lets you swap the existing ball attached to a Pokémon for any other of their choice don't understand. Doing that would literally ruin the whole point of unique ball designs, especially Premium and Cherish.
@@KeiranTrick Not really. They cost at least 2000 pokedollars (or whatever the currency is). Sure the they come with 10 regular balls but I don't care about those. I just want the Premier Balls.
@@DiwashoThey can put limitations on it, it's not like any of us can actually GET Cherish ball items! It would be reasonable to also put restrictions in place like "no moving to a less effective ball", if they're that concerned.
Luxury ball, woooo! Such style, plus the flex of being stubborn enough to use it to catch everything.
Meeeeee ✨
I love how Horizons reveals that the inside of a Luxury Ball looks just a classy as the outside when a Pokemon is inside it XD
I only use the luxury ball for pokemon I intend to breed with or pokemon I tend to use in battle a lot. Its really nice to have a guaranteed easy friendship with the friendship based focus band/full heal mechanic.
The friendball does something similar, but less effective (you reach max friendship faster with luxury balls, even though friendballs give you a 200 point head start), and is a pain to collect.
Other than that, yeah, im definitely stubborn. Luckily not so stubborn to complete my pokedex with luxury balls, im using the "lazy" quick ball for that one.
@Predated2 I did some testing in S/V a while ago, and it seems the friendship boost from the Friend Ball doesn't work on Pokemon hatched from eggs, which is annoying.
Checked on Bulbapedia and yeah, doesn't work for Pokemon hatched from eggs. Luxury Balls works on bred Pokemon, though.
I catch my favorite raid pokemon in those. Feels like a nice way to show I love them since it's the most expensive at 3000 pokedollars.
The cool thing about Scarlet/Violet is that when you use them in a den they have a 100% catch rate meaning the Beast Ball is useable.
Yeah! Really glad they made the change for raids having guaranteed catches, was really annoying getting only the one chance with the max raids.
I didn't know that so I just used my beast ball on teragaphos because it was a 100% catch rate due to the story
@@bewearstar9462Hehe I used my Master ball just to flex and cause I really never use the master ball for anything else. I guess call it a flex on Kieran but I didn't actually think about that when I did it until now. XD XD XD Nah I love Kieran. His story was really interesting. Nice to finally see a mean rival have a redemption arc IN GAME rather than in a different game (Pokemon Masters EX finally shows Silver's but RIP Bede who's still a narc and doesn't learn his lesson much... )

@@peshomighty5051 Just looked it up. I did not realize Premier balls actually let you catch full odd shinies automatically. Glad to know they have a use
Awww yeah! Quick ball gang!
To complete The Dexs. Plus Shinys to not risk them fainting themselves
I just wish we could transfer Pokémon to different balls after the fact, so you didn't have to decide between aesthetics and efficiency when catching.
Yeah, hopefully in later games. the only way to really change the ball they're in now is to breed two non-ditto pokemon where one has the ball you want, but that's assuming they can breed and have a gender. If they're genderless or unbreedable (Legendary) you're out of luck.
The best ball? There is no competition. It's the Luxury Ball!
If you think about it, Pokémon GO! _is_ the final Safari Zone.
and the only one that actually was fun to play and not a horrible RNG fest.
@@MarioMastarit's still fun :)
What if Safari Zones were just like Go in the mainline games? Imagine living in that parallel universe.
26:43 They actually fixed the Lure Ball in Scarlet/Violet in an update at some point.
Oh that is really good to hear! I didn’t come across it being fixed in my research, but I’m glad they fixed it!

I may have been guilty of this a bit in my youth, to tell the truth
I'd imagine they're really good in Moon and Ultra Moon too.
That's how it became my favorite 😆
Smart
Me too lmao
I think the Lotto of Blueberry Academy succeeds where the Cramomatic failed: making a commodity of gambling with it.
They really nailed it too. The rush of seeing the pause and zoom in waiting to see if it'll be the 2x bonus or the ball lotto is something else
I dont understand why they create a "artificial scarcity" with the pokeballs if there's still a chance of pokemon breaking out of them
they're still good for mons caught in Raid battles, at least
Yeah that is definitely annoying. When I was getting a pikachu in each of the balls, there was a good amount of resetting in the process so that I wasn’t wasting any

love ball is 8x only against wild pokemon of the same gender AND species as they active pokemon in gen II, with it switching to opposite gender as intended in HG/SS
Should have been called the Gay Ball in Gen 2, still hilarious how they messed up half of them
I feel like an interesting change could be to make it also give the bonus if the Pokémon is infatuated, similar to how the Dream Ball gives the bonus for sleep.
That bugged me when I first read it and thought "Wow the love ball will make filling the dex SO much easier!" and then I read the "Same species" part and binned it. At least the ball looks really nice for catching pokemon like Salazzle, too bad they're practically post game. I do like the strange ball though. it just looks cool with that teal green.
So does that mean that the bonus even affects genderless Pokemon of the same species?
my favorite is the Quick Ball, it's just so handy
It definitely is handy, a good chunk of my living dex happens to be caught in them!
3:40 i love how they accidentally made all pokemon gay (or, yk, at least attracted to the same sex)
Honestly I think the love ball has fallen off for... Obvious reasons. If they bring it back as anything but a post game pretty ball bonus, they'll have to give it an element of randomness.
Friends of mine used to joke about same gender pokemon using "Sweet kiss" or "Lovely Kiss". There is "Charm" but it only works on opposite gender pokemon. (however not in Pokemon Masters EX where it works on any pokemon but given the nature of the game, it makes sense why they wouldn't do that. Mina would be useless against most female trainers and Grimsley)
Kurt was quite progressive for 1999
Reminds me of that one episode of the Pokemon anime where a scientist is trying to build a machine that can make Attract work on same-sex Pokemon.
At this point I'm convinced nobody making the games actually knows how to program
Back in my day we crafted our own Poke Balls
Back in the Hisui days
i hope we get the park ball back, we’re severely lacking a mainly yellow pokeball option
Your descriptions of the Pokeball appearances are great for low vision and blind people, great video. Looking forward to the Pokeballs they’ll have in Legends A-Z
Ugh I am so weirdly excited for the mechanics of PLZA
Samson’s weird old pokéball is one that sticks out in memory
Especially since it seems even more cumbersome and difficult to use than the Ancient balls (and unless Professor Oak is well over 100 years old, it really doesn’t add up, unless Pokeball technology somehow got worse)
@@dimetrodon2250 kid Oak's old ball is just a movie only thing. Safe to say that Ye Olde Balls in Legends series have retconned away that old design from the franchise.
I think the multiples of 10 premier ball purchase gift has been modified in recent games to grant you multiple premier balls at once
Yes. Once that update happened, it's been a mainstay going forward. Which is why it's fun when I buy hundreds of quick balls and repeat balls and they throw in a couple dozen premiere balls for free XD
Yes, he says that in the video once he gets to the game that makes that change
pronouncing "decal" as "deckle" and not "dee-cal" gives me major Trailer Park Boys vibes. "Check out these sick decnals, Bubs!"
I'm surprised you didn't make at least slight reference to Ball Capsules and Seals in generation 4!
I can’t believe I forgot them! They are one of my favourite little additions in the series and I completely forgot about them! Just leaves room for a video in the future I guess!
The Beast Ball is my favorite.
It's an amazing ball. I saved one for Terapagos, and it was such a good fit!
@@excalibur493 I captured Eternatus, my favorite poké, in one.
I love the sci-fi look of it, it's amazing
I hope that the Hisui balls properly display in Legends Z-A and beyond. I can sort of understand using the Strange Ball for now since the art for the Hisui Balls might not have been finished during SV's development, but I hope they remember to fix it. They should know how cool it is to have a unique, antique Pokeball on some of your Pokemon, instead of a placeholder.
My favorite pokeballs are the Dusk and Netball, not only because of how they look, but the effects when the pokemon comes out (specially the the Duskball)
Yeah the dusk ball animation is a really good one!
Given my favorite pokemon type is Dark type (as are my favorite character trainers in the game), Dusk is my favorite too.
OMG dude straight out forgot about the smoke ball..... 😮
They updated the Parkballs game Art Work for Scarlet and Violet for SOME REASON so I’m kinda wondering if they are going to make it a useable ball at some point… because why make the icon… I know it exists I have the image in my PC and its a Scarlet Sprite so…. Why
Im having the weirdest mandella effect. I played gen 3 more than any other game and i couldve sworn dusk and quick balls were available in gen 3
I could see quick ball but Ruby and sapphire didn’t have a day and night cycle so the dusk ball would do nothing
For a long while I thought the quick and timer balls came out in the same gen given how well they pair mechanically. The Gen 3 and 4 balls, for the most part, blend together pretty well.
@@jackfrost3686dusk ball also gets the bonus in caves and dungeons
I thought there was a day/night cycle to obtain espeon and umbreon. The game just doesn’t visually change in the overworld. Also there were still caves of course
@@jackfrost3686it would work in caves
Apriballs had their existence justified when they came back in HGSS and could be used for style rather than their actual catching benefits.
I used to be a "pokeballs only" trainer (big flex having hard to catch pokemon in them) but then when I stopped taking the game so seriously I switched up to an ~aesthetic over everything~ trainer
now all my mon match the balls they are in and it's really cute :)
(also catching pokemon in beast balls who are not ultra beasts is the biggest mf flex)
I also used to be one, but slowly have been opening up to using others. I still catch all my legendaries in pokeballs tho, don’t think I’ll ever move on from that
In my opinion it's just satisfying to have everything in a normal Poké Ball, so I usually only use them apart from when I can't (safari zone and bug catching contest)
I don't do that in Pokémon Go tho, I use all sorts of balls to catch Pokémon in that game
The one time I didn't use a Poké Ball was catching Giratina in Platinum, I tried so damn hard but I got impatient and just chucked the Master Ball at it
I'll likely use Beast Balls when I play gen 7 tho because it wouldn't feel right to catch UBs in Poké Balls
That's what I do too. It's really fun seeing all the different Pokeballs at the healing machines/Pokemon Centers.
"Everyone has their own favorite, for me, I don't like balls with protrusions"
Meanwhile for me; my signature pokemon is a Shiny Smeargle in a Beast Ball, because I'm a masochist!
glad u made this , pokeballs were always a small fascination of mine in the games with the cherish one being my all time favorite
The next thing they could do is to introduce more balls that give advantages for different types. We basically have 3(!) different balls to help catching Water-types. So what gives, where are other type-specific balls?
never really stopped to consider how many new pokèball variations there have been, great vid!!
Great video! I am a fan of how in depth you went, and I agree, the Ball is one of the most important parts of Pokémon and deserves more love
good video, consistent audio quality, good topic, and just in depth enough
The extreme rarity of the apriballs has allowed many collectors to attempt to collect as many Pokemon in as many apriballs as possible. Beast Balls and Dream Balls are usually counted as an apriball too. I think that's really cool, personally, keep an eye out for these "aprimon" in Wonder Trade!
Nah forced scarcity is dumb, though at this point they should just let you customize your Poke Balls
Personally I feel like most Pokémon being in certain balls shouldn’t be something to try to collect. I believe that it takes something that should be about something that has meaning to you and instead turns it into more of a trophy
@@Turtle-Soup I've seen other people against aprimon collecting as well - now that I think about it, aprimon collecting seems like a rather devisive aspect of Pokemon, actually.
@@miimiiandco.8721 They should just let you switch Poke Balls if nothing else, just have it destroy the original Poke Ball you used so people can't do it willy-nilly or use it to exploit the Master Ball, which you shouldn't be able to do anything with.
I always felt like the Gold, Silver and "Crystal" colors on the gen 4 pal park balls was a hint at the upcoming gen 2 remakes but it's probably just a coincidence :P
Also there’s the moon ball in gen 2 which may have been a slight hint towards crystal
Wouldn’t surprise if it was, given how they’ve hinted towards other games
@@Cherry_coke_poplol how is that a connection?
Why?
@@itsgonnabeanaurfromme Well being at the end of the game, this was more the cherry on top of all the other references and hints we got like the Gyarados news report etc etc
At least in the last few generations the number of premier balls you receive is based on the number of sets of 10. If you were to buy 99 pokeballs all at once you receive 9 premier balls.
And if you bought 90 without the 9?
You can also find them randomly on the ground.
My favorites has to be some of the Kurt Balls like the Moon Ball, Fast Ball, Heavy Ball and Level Ball. As for Pokéballs available normally in Marts, the Luxury Ball, Premier Ball and Dusk Ball are my top favorites, both in terms of design and how they look when you either sent your Pokémon out or when you try to catch them.
I feel crazy, I always thought Premier ball had a high catch rate for shiny Pokémon. Even though it doesn’t, it still feels cool to catch a discolored Pokémon in a discolored pokeball.
Love the video, surprised you didnt mention the pokeball seals from gen 4, I love those
Oh I totally should have! I love the ball seals, and really should’ve included them!
@@Turtle-Soup I was going to mention them too! I was really disappointed when they didn't come back in gen 5.
@@dezarlaSame, but at the same time, I'm not surprised. The letter ones are easily... abused.
@@Turtle-Soupthat’s easy to miss with the scale of this video. Props for scaling what could’ve easily been multiple videos into one big video, that being said the seals can easily be a follow up video.
@@excalibur493...then why not drop JUST the letters?
Pokeballs are a fashion statement
I love the Premier Ball. The white with a red stripe is so clean
I remember seeing images of Poké balls inspiring a craze of mine, where I would design Poké balls of my own, draw them, give them unique (if niche) effects, and meticulously store the pages in a binder to send to Game Freak. Dad made me save up my own money for postage, and I did actually get to mail it, but I never heard back or got a return.
I can't even remember what little Amber thought was good Poké ball design, but I hope whatever concoctions were in there inspired someone at the company, hahaha!
un-obtaina-ball
i think it was important to mention that prior to gen 3 we didn't have actual images of the pokeballs so balls that didn't make a return in later generations didn't have an official design, aka the original park ball, and the one shown was the anime version, which doesn't always translates to the games, for example the anime Safari Ball, season 1, being a simple green top with a white bottom and a s on top of the "power" button compare to its camo in-game counter part
I love the luxury Ball visually, but my fave is the Quick ball. Really helpful for end game collecting and breeding.
Customizable Poke Balls need to be a thing in the future
Ball seals are probably the closest we’ll get to that. Really wish that feature stuck around, was always a big fan of them.
@@Turtle-Soup Why not both? Seals were for the ignition animation, but we should be able to customize the outward appearance of the Ball too, that way we don't have to do all this breeding for Poke Balls, and they could throw in some of the anime designs and a few new ones too. Imagine having a black and blue Premier Ball, or a Poke Ball covered in lightning bolts or stars or stripes? Or with hearts on it? I imagine you probably wouldn't be able to customize the Master Ball/Park Ball/Strange Ball/Cherish Ball but the rest would be fair game.
@@Turtle-Soup It's cuz of Masuda's weird philosophy of keeping some features in one game only. Hopefully that stops with the new games now that he's not the main director anymore
The only design I would use is the Cherish Ball design but not in red, but purple.
I like the way you says pokeball, it scratches a part of my brain in ways I cannot explain!!
24:27 I had always hoped early on that the heavy ball line would use the better multiplier in battle, but I figured it wouldn’t considering they’ll have spotted you except maybe the first turn of battle if you caught them off guard, but I’m glad to know they’re just always awesome! If only they weren’t hard to throw accurately on Basculegion
Yeah, I learned that when researching for this video, and was quite happy when I read it! Also I hope that if legends Z-A has a water mount, they make it a bit easier to control, especially when trying to catch stuff!
@@Turtle-Soup yeah I’m pretty sure they kinda just goofed on how the throwing animations work when on Basculegion. The camera snaps back to where you’re facing immediately even if the throwing animation hasn’t finished, I think that’s the main thing. And if they wanted to do the bullet time as well as in botw then they’d make it so the balls fly the same speed in and out of bullet time (so faster in bullettime in-universe) and make it so you don’t instantly get taken out of bullet time so you have a chance to throw multiple balls more consistently.
Net Ball is so underrated, absolutely my favourite Pokeball
How is it underrated?
Personally I really like the design of the luxury Ball.
It's crazy to me that the Quick Ball, already one of the best balls in the game out the gate due to its massive modifier and not being limited to specific pokemon, got a *buff* the following generation. 4x was big enough and they buffed it to *5* ???
I really want the Cherish ball as a regular pokeball, or even have a pokeball customization option in future games, so we can pick the look of the pokeball.
It's a bit basic, but I've always loved the Ultra Ball. The black and yellow design just looks so sleek and classy. And it's just such a solid workhorse ball having best catch rate of the original big three. I actually got a tattoo of an Ultra Ball wreathed in flowers on my shoulder the day I hit level 40 in Pokemon Go. I scheduled it specifically so I could be sitting in the chair getting inked while I leveled up.
Why do I have a feeling we'll get Strange Ball back in Legends Z-A? 😅
But anyway, great video. I really appreciate all the time you did researching for it. That's a dedication.
Oh, and Quick Ball and Dusk Ball are my most favourite Balls. They are just so usefull.
"deck-el"
What the flying fuck?
Excluding the Master Ball, Poké Ball (sort of), Sport Ball/Park Ball, Friend Ball, Lure Ball, and Heavy Ball (except in Crystal), every Poké Ball introduced in Gens I & II worked very oddly in the Gens they were introduced.
In Gen I, because of how the catch formula worked (very oddly), nonvolatile status conditions (sleep, freeze, paralysis, poison, and burn) increased the catch rate of Pokémon by a flat amount based on the Poké Ball used and status condition (for sleeping or frozen Pokémon, it’s 25 out of 256 for Poké Balls, 25 out of 201 for Great Balls, and 25 out of 151 for Ultra Balls and Safari Balls; for the others, it’s 12 out of 256 for Poké Balls, 12 out of 201 for Great Balls, and 12 out of 151 for Ultra Balls and Safari Balls) rather than multiplicatively like in later generations. This causes Ultra Balls and Safari Balls to significantly overperform for Pokémon with low catch rates and status conditions or low HP (especially status conditions) but greatly underperform for perfectly healthy Pokémon and Pokémon with high catch rates, while the Great Ball vastly overperforms for Pokémon with high catch rates and against healthy Pokémon with low catch rates. (This means that the Safari Ball, which only in Gen I is coded to work like an Ultra Ball instead of a Great Ball, is the worst Poké Ball to use against the Pokémon in the Safari Zone as you cannot inflict status conditions or lower HP in the Safari Zone… but that’s the only Poké Ball you _can_ use in the Safari Zone, and that’s the only place Safari Balls can typically be used, which is a major reason why the Safari Zone is so terrible in those games.)
In Gen II, in addition to the fact that paralysis, poison, and burn don’t affect the catch rate at all due to another error, several of the Apricorn Balls are improperly coded.
The Fast Ball is supposed to have a 4× chance against Pokémon with a chance to flee, but due to a bug, it only does against the first three of them in the table: Magnemite, Grimer (why does _this_ Pokémon have a chance to flee, anyways?), and Tangela.
The Level Ball works better against Pokémon with a lower level than yours, and it does, but due to an error, it ignores all other factors like HP and status conditions.
The Love Ball is supposed to have an 8× multiplier when used on Pokémon of the same species but opposite gender of your current Pokémon, but it instead has an 8× multiplier when used on Pokémon of the same species and the _same_ gender as your current Pokémon, the exact opposite of how it’s supposed to work!
The Heavy Ball works properly in Gold and Silver and for most Pokémon in Crystal, having increased odds against heavy Pokémon and reduced odds against lighter Pokémon (and it’s a flat increase or decrease, though intentionally so in this case). However, in Crystal, if used specifically against Kadabra, Tauros, and Subflora, instead of using their weights, the game looks at junk data instead that makes them appear to have massive weights, causing the Heavy Ball to work way better than it should on them.
Finally, the Moon Ball is supposed to have a 4× multiplier when used on Pokémon that evolve by Moon Stone (which, in Gen II, would be Clefairy, Jigglypuff, Nidorina, and Nidorino), but because they changed the index numbers for several items (including the Moon Stone) when going from Gen I to Gen II but did not update the reference used for the Moon Ball’s code, it instead has a 4× multiplier only when used on Pokémon which evolve with a *Burn Heal* (which would be none of them).
Of the new Balls in Gen II, only the Park/Sport Ball (which was basically just a fancy-looking Great Ball for use in (and only in) Bug-Catching Contests), Lure Ball (3× multiplier while fishing), and Friend Ball (1× multiplier (same as a regular Poké Ball), but sets the caught Pokémon’s friendship to 200 instead of the usual 70) work exactly as intended in all three Gen II games. (That said, the Lure Ball did have an error in Scarlet and Violet, which caused it to always have a 1× multiplier instead of the boosted 4× multiplier on Pokémon in or on water it was supposed to.) The Master Ball has also always worked exactly as intended, skipping all other checks and just guaranteeing the capture every single time.
All of these would be fixed in later gens, but it is still crazy how broken they all were when first introduced.
In german, french and apparently korean it's also the Hyperball, in fact the Ultraball is the Beast Ball in english from gen7 afaik.
I think it's worth noting that since only the female pokemon can pass down its ball when bred, you couldn't get any of the newly introduced pokemon in newer balls since the female always decides the species of the baby. Ditto is the only case when this is bypassed, letting the male pass down its ball and species (which still isn't helpful in getting Kalos/Alola mons in Kurtballs)
What? You can get the male ball in standard breeding nowadays unless you breed cross species.
@@Predated2 whoops yeah, I was implying cross-species breeding. guess I didn't imply hard enough lol. the point is, you can't get a species in a ball that you can't already catch it in through breeding, which is a surprisingly common misconception
Another great video! The history of the Kurt Balls is crazy and its so strange how many mistakes happen with them even to this day!
Thanks! Part of me finds it funny that that specific set of balls always seem to be the trouble makers.
Subbed and am going through the vids now. You’re pretty good at this
One of my favorite Pokeball designs is from the early days of the franchise where the pokeballs were sort of see through so you can see the pokemon inside of it like the Gachapon capsules the game was designed after. This only appeared in some artwork or manga, but it honestly just looks so neat.
I find it awesome that *every* ball is in the modern games!
I loved the video, Thanks for sharing my same feeling with the pokeballs

I have a habit of using premier balls early game for low encounter rate pokemon to make em extra special, this is to say I've caught many a ralts and a few abra in em over my various replays of gens 3 and 4
I’m a big quick ball and premier ball fan. Almost all my Pokémon in a standard play through are caught with those
Been working on a Luxury-Dex all pokemon in every form that's possible to transfer to HOME, all in Luxury Balls.
Some things are currently impossible to get into Lux balls, but I'm working on getting everything I can. Not having access to the older Gens+Bank are making it a little more difficult. lol
The very first time I used a Master Ball, it was against a damaged Level 34 Onix in Mt. Silver. I had no idea it was intended for legendaries.
Level 24 Fearow on Cycling Road here 😭
I hope Gen 10 brings Ball Recolour, let us change what colours are on different sections of the Ball. It would let people breed for the design and release effect instead of mainly colour when trying to match.
great video!! subscribed.
I've had consistently good luck with legendries when using the heal ball so it's become my favorite
I always love hearing about Pokéballs. I’ve always found them fascinating. My favorite balls:
Fast ball, which I used to assume was pikachu’s main Pokéball due to it’s cool design
The great ball, I like the blue ones better than the original red balls
The lure ball, I always found them pretty cool
The ultra/hyper ball. I always found the yellow and black colors very appealing
The moon ball, as a huge fan of moonlight based things. I feel like this would be the ball for me personally.
Master ball, it’s the master ball. But I also used to assumed that the master ball was for Pokemon masters only as a kid.
The luxury ball, I always thought these balls were for rich people and SUPER expensive. And only for those who had lots of money.
GS ball, I always wanted this ball as a kid. And still do now 😅
Premier ball, I like these balls, they feel very special to have.
Mewtwo’s custom Pokéballs from Pokémon the first movie, I have always wanted this version of the pokeball! It looks so EPIC!!
The timer ball, I really love the design of these balls. They look super awesome! And they look super rare.
The quick ball, love the look of this ball, and it’s my personal favorite ball to keep my Milotic in it 🥰
The heal ball, I think these balls are pretty nice looking. And very interesting for what they do.
The beast ball, they look so badass, it feels like it came from another dimension.
I always look forward to new pokeball designs for every game.
Gen 4 balls will always be my favourite cause its the gen Glaceon was brought in and dusk is pretty cool in its release anination lol
How many people were personally victimized trying to use the Fast Balls on the legendary dogs in Gold/Silver? Not that I KNEW I was being screwed over when I was 14, since I just learned about this today.
Great video! Good job, keep it up!
Thank you!
The Bug Catching contest balls described in the video are from the anime and manga. In the games it never had a full design until Generation IV.
The Love Ball's glitch is actually 8x specifically only against the same species and gender, not just gender.
Yeah, it was quite a grey area type of situation when it came to that one. However due to it being included in the games, and especially since it was changed from being called the park ball to the sport ball, figured it was best to talk about it, and took the design from the other mediums of the franchise, as describing it as just some non detailed ball wouldn’t be as good or interesting content wise.
As per my research, the love ball always works exclusively for wild Pokémon that are the same species as your active Pokémon
Mildly insane after hearing "poke•ball" and "poke•mon" a hundred times.
This is a cool video.
My favorite balls are the moon and Beast balls for aesthetic. I have a mimikyu in a moon ball which is one of my favs, and a teddiursa in a beast ball. Vaporeon is also my favorite pokemon so I like the dive balls cause they match so well.
I finished my Violet dex before doing the Indigo Disk story so when it came time to capture Terapogos and I had that Beast Ball in my inventory it felt so cool to capture such a visually striking Pokemon in a rare and cool ball. Definitely a highlight moment for me for Gen 9.
In the SV dlc Perrin gives u the sport ball as a reward for getting the paradox legendaries
Heavy Balls are my favorite. I love steel type Pokemon and I make it a mission to catch them in it
