    Do I get it right, you lost your first job after 6 months? Is your experience based on this one layoff, correct?

      Yes and no. I've also taken 3 sabbaticals between 3-8 months. The principles of mindset and planning apply to every instance where one doesn't have a stable job or income to rely on.

    Don't quite understand why young healthy people want to waste money on health insurance after losing jobs.

      because you never know if something happens with you and you need to be hospitalized, or see doctors-specialists. Without insurance the prices in US is skyrocketing.
