Fun Fact: The tournaments to crown the first Cruiserweight Champion was mentioned alot on WCW Nitro in the early days of its existance. There was no graphic or brackets for it, just random matches being called tournaments matches, even if both wrestlers had lost other "tournament" matches. Mr. JL was in about 4 of them. Bonus: When all of these "tournament" matches was happening, the first champ had already been crowned.
Random fact: Último Dragón was holding a WWF championship when he appeared with the J crown on Nitro. The title appeared on the show. It was the Light Heavyweight title before it was returned to them and won by Taka
I remember the final load to Matt's attempt at the cruiserweight belt where he made weight by shedding his sweat soaked jock to get that final pound below the heavyweight/cruiserweight line
I saw the thumbnail and new right away Oklahoma and Hornswoggle would be taking up the bottom slots, lol. I was rooting for Kidman personally (even though his shooting star press wasn't always great, and I'm satisfied that he wound up in the top ten.
Ultimato Dragon should be in the top 10. He was a staple of the WCW Cruiserweight Division when it was at its absolute best and he was a major reason why. Had he not gotten hurt, I fully believe he’d be as revered as Mysterio, Malkeno, Eddie Guerrero, etc
@@unblinkingear yeah injuries were unfortunate smh. His matches with liger, Guerrero, Jericho, mysterio, malenko, in njpw(j crown and best of the super juniors) were classics. Even won the TV title. And his kick combo was so smooth. Always enjoyed playing as him in wcw/nwo revenge too.
One caveat to hornswoggle, I believe he was entered into the match officially because he was in the ring when the bell rang and then hid under the ring for the rest of the match
Eddie Guerrero was incredible in WCW. Chavo too. I knew they were both going to be huge one day. I didn't know it would be in wwf instead of wcw, but anyone that watched the Guerreros work in the 90s could see that.
I'd like to see another list ranking of "From Worst To Best" of Every TNA/Impact Wrestling World Tag Team Champions as well as Every TNA/Impact Wrestling X-Division Champion. Please & thank you.
@@agentorange1156 it’s the second biggest weightclass in the ufc, not mma some promotions have a 265+ division but they’re to slow to actually put on a fight anyone cares to watch.
@Tylar122 I know, I am just saying how in WWE it's considered small but like no one would ever look at Jon Jones or Anthony rumble Johnson and consider them small people.
It says something about Vince Russo when David Arquette & Hornswaggle are *not* the worst WCW World Heavyweight Champion & Cruiserweight Champion respectively.
This feels like the most obvious number one of any of these lists. Seeing howmall over this list he is itnreally is a crime Chavo Jr. And Chavo Classic aren't in the WWE Hall Of Fame.
Slight error there, Pacitti. When Matt Hardy won the WWE Cruiserweight Championship, the weight limit was 220lbs, which Hardy just reached for his match and title win. Also, Jimmy Wang Yang should've won the belt in 2007.
My top bunch would be Rey Misterio jr., Jericho, Malenko, Kidman and Juventud, just brainstorming the topic. I am not sure Rey would be my number one, but I completely agree that he is one of the greatest pro wrestlers ever. I will never name a G.O.A.T. but Rey would be in that conversation.
Gregory Helms was the greatest wwe cruiserweight champion post WCW. he and Matt Hardy put the division back on the map before the buried them all and put the belt on hornswoggle
It's called a WHITE BEANER,... "WIFE BEATER" was a term that came from the show COPS.... every trailer park domestic dispute the man seemed to be wearing one.... THE MORE YOU KNOW.... 😅😂😅
Vince Mcmahon was just not interested in smaller wrestlers except as one offs. The cruiser weights never got their due. You want great matches with smaller wrestlers, you have to look at NJPW or AEW. You might get a few good gems in WWE's library... but it's rare. And yeah, Matt losing in front of his family is a Vince classic. He loves to build up the drama then destroy hope, that cartoon villain that he is.
Yet some of the WWE cruiserweight reigns like Shane Helms are still better than the ones Vince Russo handled and booked. I hate Vince McMahon but you dead wrong.
I feel like there’s scenarios where Madusa and Jackie could have worked as champions
But the booking just wasn’t there.
Agree. Jackie beating up the cruiserweights could have been decent for a while at least.
Even if it was I wouldn’t have trusted Bischoff, Russo with it

Nooooooo really?
(For those who don't know: the "JL' stands for Jerry Lynn.)
Mysterio/malenko/jericho/Kidman/eddie Guerrero is the goats of the cruiserweight division
Do the WCW TV title next
Yes!
Can't wait to see where the Trashcan Jim Duggin pulled that belt from goes on the list.

Lest we forget, Madusa's German was a thing of beauty.
And she drove a fuckin monster truck afterwards.
It was just her "bridge" on the German Suplex.... The "money shot".....
Camera man deserves a raise......
Love these lists!! Thanks for your work Adam
Hornswoggle ran into the ring right before the bell rang, so by the rules he was a legal participant in the match.
Shane/Hurricane/Gregory Helms had three different titles reigns with three different names. Impressive
2:37 Jim Cornette to Adam: I can make that happen if you want.
Neah Broo.... Jim Cornette is Afraid of Vince Russo bro, I mean, bro.... C'mon 😏
Russo had a restraining order against Jim 😂 he (like TK) feared for his life.

every adam?
@@nixda9326 yes, every Adam lol
@@wesleycooper6775 not sure what that actually means.
Taka Michinoku. "If WWF was about talent, Taka would be WWF champion"
I think they've specifically looked at the cruiserweight title, not light-heavyweight
@@davidjsaul yeah I noticed that after I posted the comment but still, Taka was excellent so I left it there

Do every commentator ranked
Gifted Glen Gilberti... how is he gifted?
XD
A Wild Slapnuts appears lol
He do the j o b for the h a w k
And then further down the list we have... *groan* Chavo... Guerrero...
Only the Hawk knows. 😂
Men of culture i see
Chavo above Chris and Kidman is crazy.

😄👍

Ultimo dragon, the real belt collector. Probably one of my favorite cruiserweights in wcw. Was disappointed in his bullshit run in wwe smh.

I don't even remember him in WWE. I really liked him in WCW though.

Das war sehr gut!🤣😂🤣😂👍
Great list for my ride home
It's crazy to think, the cruiserweight in wrestling are the middleweight & up weight divisions in The UFC.
A middleweight in ufc will step in the ring with a body of light heavyweight
Why is that crazy
@Tylar122 because 205 is small in the WWE and it's the second biggest weight class in MMA.
@@agentorange1156 it’s the second biggest weightclass in the ufc, not mma some promotions have a 265+ division but they’re to slow to actually put on a fight anyone cares to watch.

Should do an updated wwe championship after wrestlemania
Rey Mysterio 👑🏆
The Best Cruiserweight Champion of All Time 💪
Crazy that chris Benoit never won the cruiser weight belt. He was one of the greatest cruiser weights to ever get in that ring
Perfect list, I agree with every number.
It says something about Vince Russo when David Arquette & Hornswaggle are *not* the worst WCW World Heavyweight Champion & Cruiserweight Champion respectively.
How long did they keep using the wcw version of the title on wwf tv till it was changed to a wwe version?
I mean, whole I agree with the sentiment, Rey Mysterio is a "Jr". So technically there is another "Rey Mysterio"! 😅
Do the X division title next

We all know Vickie Guerrero had her knockers back in the day, but... the rest of the pun writes itself at 3:37.
Prince’s music was distributed by Warner Bros. I’m more surprised about DDP’s music which is a clear rip off of Nirvana not being yanked.
