    it's pretty good that the light can burn through metal (at 1:03),
    and yet also not burn through metal when you want to cook an egg (at 1:45)
    such a consideration is VASTLY underrated

      That's actually somewhat realistic: eggs contain water, which has more than ten times the heat capacity of any metal, as well as the ability to carry away huge amounts of energy by phase changing to vapor. This is why a laser that can punch a hole in steel in a microsecond will only give you a little blister if it hits you on your arm (don't get it in your eye though).

    I actually bought one of these junkers. It took five minutes to realize I’d been ripped off. Within a half hour I’d found an unbranded duplicate on Amazon for 5.99. I called the support number and some clown with a distinctly India accent argued with me for a few minutes until I informed him of the Amazon discovery and that I’d be forwarding that info to the authorities. I received a full refund in seconds. They can be beaten. I like your channel, keep up that important work.

      @ProtoV33MK1 Год назад +13

      @@Cat-cb9ep Depending on the amount of light hitting the sensor, it's still an issue. The sensor is still absorbing energy since it's not reflecting the light, so if you throw enough light at it (like a high-power (a couple watts) laser) the sensor will still heat up enough that you burn holes in it. StyroPyro's medical laser vid shows this happening.

    I have three "Gearlight" flashlights that look very much like the Elitelight/Bell%Howell ones you showed us. They are decent enough but I think the 3 pack I bought was $27. Even that price is probably getting a quite healthy margin for the company but nine bucks for a light that is bright enough for my needs, uses regular batteries, and is rain proof works for me.
    Another excellent video, thanks!

    Love the video. A while back I spent a couple hundred on a flashlight we nicknamed sunshine. it will light up our whole backyard and is brighter than all my trucks lights put together... can't remember exactly what lumens it claimed, but it claimed less than most of those scammy lights on ebay. I'm pretty sure it's less than half that 100k though. It has 7 Cree LED's in it, if that gives any idea how much it puts out. It doesn't have a fan though, it needs one, as it will overheat and cut off on high after only a few mins... on low it will go until the batteries die.

    I've bought the same flashlights at Marshall's and TJ Max in their "impulse buy" racks by the registers for under five dollars. Good for a kitchen drawer flashlight, and thats about it. The cheap little Ozark Trail flashlights at Walmart are brighter and they sell for about $1.50

    Im an individual who relies on a decent torch for my job and for my freetime activities (heavy machinery engineering and urban exploring) and I used to use those chinese mass produced torches that tend to get rebranded 1000 times and are supplied with worrying 18650 batteries and tend to have connection issues about 3 weeks of heavy use. Ive investsd in an Olight Warrior Pro. It has no adjustable beam, no colour filters, just an LED Flashlight. They are on the more expensive side but they are reliable, has safe intergrated charging capabilities that are safe and has vibration warnings for when the battery supply is becoming depleted. Would never go back to one of those cheap and what id consider disposable lights ever again.

  • @Allurade
    @Allurade Год назад +4

    Yep, it's exactly the same as the Bell and Howe. Which is the same as the Bulbhead. I bought the Bulbhead one years back with zero expectations. You can also use an 18650 cell battery in place of the battery module. For about 20 dollars it was "Eh, okay." I wanted a decentish flashlight, but was younger and less savvy about lights. But it is okay for for what it is.
    Defending my impulse purchases aside, thanks to your videos, Bulbhead's TV ads don't do anything more than make me angry since they're STILL pushing the "COVID supply chain issues" narrative for their scarcity marketing.

    I watched the video of a flying drone with a camera on it that you bought and tested. I get flooded with emails about this same flying drone with an unbelievable price on it. It claims a price of around five hundred dollars, but “for today only”, I could get it for fifty bucks, give it take. I thought, “Hey, sounds like a deal”, and almost bought one. I say almost because of the price, regular five hundred dollars down to fifty bucks, that’s a red flag right there. Then I watched your video, which showed that multiple resale companies buy them, slap their name on them, and sell them at a higher price then what they paid for them, and also, that the drone is a piece of crap. I did not buy one.
    I do like your videos, with all the humor, and testing of products. Keep up the good work!
