Stumbled on this by accident and found a new band to follow. A very thoughtful composition of melodies, hooks, bridges and choruses with just enough heaviness. This album is infused with elements of genres past and present melded into a very impressive work of art. This is what metal should be. I am a fan and will be sharing it with those I know will appreciate it just the same.
Don't know if you've ever heard of this band, but check out 'In the Woods... Not too sure about the exact details but a few of their members used to be part of Green Carnation wayyy back. Their first album is black metal, but their second album is by far their best imo. Just the right amount of weird and heavy but perfectly flowing. They have a third album that I'm not the biggest fan of because it's too far into the weird territory and they have a couple newer albums with a different line up that are less weird and a lot more heavy. But I still fucking love those newer albums.
Green Carnation, always Green Carnation. I already looked for some of their songs on all the albums that I might not like .... I'm going to give up, this band is great. Particularly the Masterpiece remains "Light of Day, Day of Darkness" for its 60 minutes and a few seconds of pure magic. But this album, 'Leaves of Yesteryear', was sensational ....

Wow, this is a fantastic album, a well thought out arrangement, a true adventure in sound with headbanging riffs hiding around every corner, these artists leave me wanting to hear more. Kudos!
I saw all the positive reviews but never got it based on the songs that had been released. For some reason, this is so much more enjoyable for me as a complete album. Going to have to buy this one.

Great band, but there are only 3 new compositions here. I really like the reworked version of "My Reflections...", but along a Black Sabbath cover, those 2 songs take up almost half of the new album. Wish there were at least 2 more new songs.
Am I the only one anonoyed that after this perfect album I have to listen to the intro of ...and oceans...totaly out of place. Anyways, loved every minute of LOY.
Terrific album. But why so short ??? And the last song is a cover. Why stop after 39 minutes ??? Don't get it… It would have been a bombastic album with an other 10-minute song. Pity.
