Do you know if this process will also search and delete files for older (uninstalled) versions of Premiere?? Thank you!
No it won't but the latest version of Creative Cloud Desktop does now give you the option to remove old versions when installing a new version.
This worked great for me. Thank you.

hi Colin Great tutorial !! I have one question though ,this method does clear old rendered files. Is there anyway to delete the unused render files no longer needed by a project. Thank you .
You have to do that manually.
Thank you so much!!

You're welcome.
Good tip Colin, thanks... But does this erease the cache media from previous version of PP too?
Yes, if you've never changed the default location.
In one of your previous videos (time ago), I think, you gave that options... And I think I did it.... Thats life!
THANK YOU 😊😊😊
You're very welcome. 😀
Thank you mr!
My pleasure.
Colin - Great tip and, for people like me, REMINDER!
Glad you liked it.
this helped alot
Great.
This is a nice new feature. Funky media cache has been the source of MANY issues for me, so this should make the frequent cleaning process a bit easier.
Yep, when it gets funky, delete that cache! 😝
Thank very much for this video. Uve done these but still need more space in my C drive. I think i still have mt older versions of abode premiere. 😓
Is there a good way to go about it ?
Been searching on here but i always get results for clean cache files... LOL.
Thanks in advance
There are utilities to help you find large unused files:
Mac
grandperspectiv.sourceforge.net/
Windows
windirstat.net/
THANK YOU
You're welcome.
i have the same option in prpro 2019! and as far as i remeber this cashe delete button was there since prpro 2015, wasnt it?
It was there but not to delete the entire cache.
hi how do you delete autosave projects in one go adobe premiere 2021 I am deleting 1 click at a time many thanks
There is absolutely no need to ever manually delete Auto saves. They could save your life one day so keep them around. If you want to delete them, then quit Premiere Pro and delete the Auto Saved folder.
Much love thank you so much
You are so welcome
thanks!
You're welcome.
Thanks sir really you so good
Thanks for your support.
Dear Sir. You da Man. you saved me and I will be forever grateful!!! I Greatly appreciate your videos!!!!!!!!
You are most welcome
Your tutorials are so helpful! Just one question, if I delete the Cache Files for the projects I'm still working on will it have any negative effect on the project?
No. Deleting the cache does not affect your Project or media.
@@VideoRevealed Thank you so much! I appreciate you answering all our questions
Ohh....thanku so much🙏
You're welcome.
Thanks :)
You're welcome.
Cool I subscribe very helpful thank you
Thanks for the sub!
great help.......
Thanks.
Thanks Collin. My issue is I delete my media cache but as soon as I open a project pp rewrites the files back in the same place
That's normal behavior. Many applications cache data to make things faster and with video editing, there's a lot of stuff to cache. You can't turn this off, you just have to find the fastest storage to save it to.
@@VideoRevealed thanks for your quick response
great help my friend...🙏
I'm glad you liked it.
Very useful papa.
Glad you think so!
Goodevening Sir 😁
Is it okay if I set my Media Cache Files location to local disk :D?
Would it change the way things go around or it's just the same?
My C Disk is SSD and my D Disk is HDD
Thank You Sir in advance 😁
Found your Tutorial Helpful 😁
Yes, C: drive SSD is fine.
What do you thing if Adobe add an option
((Delete catch file on exit))??
The cache is (normally) okay, and you only need to delete it if it's causing a problem An option to delete each time is a little overkill.
best tutorial ever sir ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,>>>
Oh wow, thanks!
Impressive very good
Thank you very much!
What’s the dif between going out and restarting premier. I went out of the project and did what u said and all my files are red now
The cache and your media are not the same. Here's a tutorial on relinking: ruclips.net/video/iFk_nulpK6U/видео.html
@@VideoRevealed I understand that. The problem was everytime I deleted cache it would unlink my media. So I had to go in and relink the whole thing twice.
Will this help with my project crashing and closing when exporting?
It's a good thing to try, but no guarantees. I have a tutorial on troubleshooting a Project: ruclips.net/video/4JPMYbYs0RM/видео.html
love from portugal
Sending love from Canada.
thanx
You're welcome.
You legend 💪😂
Amazing Support and guidance..I like your style..I will copy it to my colleagues..don'mind please
I'd love it you shared the link to my video on my channel.
what if i have a huge project with markers and notes, will this be affected somehow?
Markers are saved in the Project and are not affected when deleting the cache. Not sure what notes you're talking about.
dear sir. i have a problem with adobe premiere 2019, it doesn't run anymore and i need to remove the media cash cause it doesn't make the program open in a appropriate way can u help me plzzz
Just update to the latest version.
is it okay to delete audio preview in premiere pro? IT COST ME 88GB TBH in my project haha
Yes, audio previews can safely be deleted.
when I pre render something it takes up space on my drive. When it renders, where does that data go? I'm asking because I'm trying to move that output to my other hard drive.
Rendering previews are not permanent. If you want to save a render, then export out a high quality format like QuickTime 4444 or lower quality.
@@VideoRevealed hey, I figured out how to move the files. You should make a video on VFR ( variable frame rate) and how to correct it. Or , a video on how to fix “ a low level exception error occurred.” Thanks
i have the same problem man! no idea where all those files went.
What about for Indesign and Lightroom?
Sorry, I have no idea where those applications save their caches.
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS Mr. Smith thank you! I have a technical question though.
For some reason when I go to open Adobe LightroomCC, do some photography work and then close the program to jump back into Adobe Premiere ProCC. Well for some odd reason my Premiere Pro cache file destination keeps changing on me to "Library/Caches/Adobe/Lightroom/Video" I don't want this to happen lol. And yes I have changed my Adobe Lightroom Cache file destination to my dedicated external SSD drive.
My SSD drive is prioritized for collecting Premiere Pro, After Effects, and now even Lightroom cache files. But Premiere's cache destination keeps changing after working in Lightroom. Any reason why this could be???
Its driving me crazy given that I like to be an organized person and know where everything is are going lol. I have tried looking this up myself and unfortunately I couldn't find any solid answer. So thought i'd ask you for help. If you're not able to find an answer either then no sweat. But I had to ask. Anyways keep up the great videos and thank you for everything you do for us Mr. Smith!
Thanks so much for your support!
I'm not sure whey that's happening. I've never changed the LIghtroom cache location so if you are changing it to the same location as Premiere Pro, then maybe change it back to the default.
@@VideoRevealed Appreciate the reply! But no unfortunately this was already happening before I changed my Lightroom cache destination. I only changed it because I thought this would help premiere pro’s cache files stay in place that I chosen. But it seems no matter what I do, Premiere’s cache files always change its destination anytime I get done working in Lightroom🤷♂️.
No worries though. Best practice for now is to always remember to change Premier’s cache files back to my external SSD drive. Thank you again and keep up the great informative videos Mr. Smith 🙌
Sir your teachings are very useful . Subscribed . A smalll doubt . I rendered a video. But I found a fault in
my editing . So I want to render AGAIN from my TIMELINE. Is this causes loss of quality of my video ?
No. Each time you export, the quality is the same.
VideoRevealed Thank you Sir 🙏
Thank you so much for this information and all the information you give. I have a question, i just followed the steps above how long does it take to delete all the cache? my program is saying that it is not responding.
It should only take a second. Make sure you have no Projects open and/or other operations that are affecting that folder location.
does turning off/deleting cache affect my video output?
No.
Just deleted 10Gb of cache files damn , thank you !
Hi, Is this going to effect any on going project?
No, anything Premiere Pro needs are far as the cache is concerned, will be automatically created.
@@VideoRevealed Thanks a lot for your reply
