- Les Misérables (2012) SYNOPSIS: After 19 years as a prisoner, Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman) is freed by Javert (Russell Crowe), the officer in charge of the prison workforce. very true Megan W. that's why as sad as this scene is, Eponine is my favorite character (except maybe thenardier) and the one I most sympathize with. Cosette gets rescued, afterall, but Eponine ends up with nothing. all she gets is to finally "sleep" in Marius' embrace. heartbreaking.
The way she says, "You heard me ask for something and I never ask twice"...Am I the only one who gets chills at that part? O.OFreaking LOVE Helena Bonham Carter, they couldn't have picked a better person to play Bellatrix Lestrange!

When I was in year 1, a girl at my school preformed this for the talent quest. She was in kindy at the time, with a beautiful voice, and she won. I thought to myself that I want to be her friend. She won the next year too, and my want to her friend grew. 4 years later, my friend Katie introduced me to her friend Isabelle. Yep, you guessed it, it was that girl. But that thought never even crossed my mind, I grew to enjoy her company because of her personality. Nowadays, she is one of my greatest friends. Last night, a realised that I had always wanted to be her friend, and now I am. Year 1 me would be so very proud. :') And if you're reading this, Isabelle, thanks for being awesome. :)

I just saw this musical a couple days ago and found out that my choir teacher plays as Madame Bonham and she was sooo good portraying this character. A lot of my friends actually did this and they were amazing as well. 8 months of rehearsal till the final product

@@marius1035 That's not true. "Castle on a Cloud" is designated for a young girl's voice (treble). The entirety of that song is perfectly reasonable within that range, and the first verse has the same range anyways.
what I've always wondered is why they didn't write "girls and boys" so it would rhyme with "toys." even now my ear expects that and twitches when it comes out wrong
It’s about late but it’s probably because she wouldn’t have been exposed to toys in her early childhood living in such poverty so it wasn’t included to present a realistic representation of her thoughts for that reason?

My daughter's name is Cosette. A very talented singer as told by 2 singing teacher's. However she at 12 is adamant she will not choose singing as a career. Don't blame her. She sang this song age 6 I think and won first prize. Her oldest sister said she did not even practice

@@joewhitehead3 hugh jackman can be a good singer and i love him in The Greatest Showman. But he just wasnt cut for Valjean. Valjean is an extremely demanding role to sing...he didnt have the vocal range. Check put Alfie Boe or Ramin Karimloo. Alfie is the only one who does justice to Valjean

Beating in mind actors don’t really have much of a say in the notes they sing they obviously pushed Amanda to reach them notes in a short amount of time where as Isabelle is a child who’s voice is still “smooth”

I have watched anime version of the Les Miserables. In the cartoon Gavroche lives and later marries with Cossette. But in the novel and the movie, he gets shot and dies. Too sad story for him.
