I don’t do animations, but I’m saving up for a drawing tablet to do animation and your videos are really helpful and interesting to just watch in general. Thanks Andy!
It makes me so happy to watch these videos- I wasn’t feeling my best today, but there’s something rejuvenating about watching your animation come to life... thanks Andy! 🙌💓
I really love these tutorials and I would love to start making flip books. I remember making one in 6th grade (almost 2 years now) and my teacher asked if he could keep it to show the class cause it was really good. So ya, now I'm gonna try to do them again! The scene I did was a tree slowly getting closer and a bird inside a nest as the mother comes and feeds the baby. I don't remember much, I think the baby fell out or something like that idk. Anyway! This was amazing! Thank you very much!
@Damon Hunt Stop motion and flip books are a type of animaton, buddy... The animation you're thinking of is most likely traditional (2D on paper like in a lot of Disney's most popular films), digital (The same thing as traditional but on a tablet or other device) and CGI (3D animation like Moana or Coco). Animaton is a category.
Bobby Boberson Laika doesn't make cgi movies, it makes stop motion movies. The two types of animation @BlobbyFish was talking about were hand drawn animation and stop motion animation.
I've always had a strong imagination when I animate or draw so I can definitely say that I've had a sense of mass and distorting pats by stretching them to create fast movement.
Your videos are so helpful, when people do these stuff they just show us the end result and a fast motion of them drawing but you told us what to do step by step your a legend, I hav always liked animation, I did my first stop animation because of you and I may do my first flip book because of you.
The last version was so fun! I actually laughed when it came down and hit him in the head- I was not expecting that. :) Wow, there's such a difference in the two frames that are in the thumbnail.
@@ActualityOfThought If you stare at it in general or at the center, yes, but if you fix your gaze on one specific blade then it actually seems to move *slower* :o An interesting phenomenon 🤔
You don't have to use fancy equipment. I used to make them in the corners of my spiral notebooks. :) He didn't use any markers or anything in this one besides a pencil and pen. You could find a small notebook or maybe cut down your own paper. This is only my second video of his, but I'm sure you can find a tutorial for binding your own someplace, too. :)
I’m maybe wanting to start a different RUclips channel and do flip book because you inspired me to want to. 👍🏻 BTW I really love your flip book videos. 10/10

I was watching how fast ur subs were going up... by what I saw you were getting 1-4 subs every second. And in 1 minute you got 500!!! You’ll get to 2 mil in no time
The technique you are trying to say is actually called rotoscope, you can call it video reference but rotoscope is the actual name for drawing over motion picture and videos, I'm also a rotoscope animator too.
Hiya Andy! I have been loving your flipbook kit. I have made a few already, some with my cute niece and nephew. My question is ... how did you publish your flipbooks? I would love to have a bound version of some of my flip books, but it seems a very niche kind of printing situation. What would be your advice?

Cheap alternative is note cards. Just for fun
You can make it w regular paper, I do it, it seems a little hard in the beginning to flip, and for a lightpad u can literally use a window
I did but I’m nine so I could not do it I cut up a piece of paper but they where so uneven that he could not even flip it
Ok
$1 dollar tree bound notebook or blank flashcards. My nephew, 10 y.o., uses flash cards.
This man is a inspiration. He makes me want to try harder. Richard Williams would be impressed.
Your flipbooks are so dam amazing!!! It's great you do these tutorial kinda videos for us learn from. I am doing one pretty soon.😀

This has really helped me with my practice of animation even though it’s not the same as flip books but some things do help me
The only problem is... I can't draw even if it's stick figures.
You can. You got this
Anyone can draw. it’s just the people you compare yourself to have been practicing for a long time.
Lol sameeee
Use FlipaClip
Yeet good idea
Really Love the hard work you put into your Videos... One needs to have talent to make these types of flip book

All of that is exactly the same for me. I really wanna work at LAIKA.
Bobby Boberson Laika doesn't make cgi movies, it makes stop motion movies. The two types of animation @BlobbyFish was talking about were hand drawn animation and stop motion animation.
What's Laika?
Nukman plays the company who made Kubo, Coraline, Boxtrolls, Paranorman, and Missing Link
