I've got 9 protection spells in my list. If I'm (Pretty much) looking to play a 5 drop every turn.. I'll be damned if a I'll let my opponents remove them for 2. 😂
I think I have a slightly different approach for Giada. I am not sure if it works but I was thinking more of a blink kind of deck with the new Resourceful Defense, the Ozolith and Panharmonicon doubling the counter with Giadas effect. For blinking I would run Angel of Condemnation, Ephemerate, Conjurer's Closet, Sword of Hearth and Home and Teleportation Circle. Bishop of Wings, Metallic Mimic, Righteous Valkyrie, Radiant Solar and Angelic Sleuth cares if creatures etb or leave the battlefield. There are a lot of angels with interesting etb effects on them like karmic guide, Shepherd of the Cosmos, Angel of the Ruins, Angel of Finality, Inspiring Overseer or Angel of Serenity. I think I will use a Twilight Shepherd, too. The persist can help against sacrifice removal and she is still a 5/5 with flying, vigilance and persist. Together Forever is a card I use in every +1/+1 counter themed deck. For card draw and ramp I lean more to the new white options like Smuggler's Share, Tenuous Truce, Monologue Tax, Sanctuary Warden, Halo Fountain, Archaeomancer's Map. The rest of the deck is similar to your suggestions.
I didn't think of adding too many flicker effects but it makes sense to buff the angels "updating" them with the current board state and getting more counters. I don't normally play mono-colored decks, but those sound like some solid cards to keep up with extra draws. Thanks for the suggestions!
Recently stumbled upon you and my guy you should have way more subscribers than you do for the quality work and editing that goes into your videos! Keep up the good work! This video was super helpful in giving me ideas for my Giada deck! Cheers homie
Thank you so much and I'm glad you enjoyed the content! I really appreciate it and I'm looking forward to making more deck techs in the future! Admittedly I messed up Giada a bit. I misunderstood her ability as an etb effect when it isn't as Jean pointed out in the comments. Myriad isn't near as strong as I thought, so Blade of Selves might not be a good include. Almost all of the other cards worked as described though and I'm glad you found it helpful!
@@roflthiscow Maybe in the future! I've gotten distracted with the new Baldur's Gate commanders being spoiled. Next week I'll be releasing a video on Tasha. Both Marchesa commanders seem like fun cards to build around. Monarch is a really fun mechanic so I'd like to check that out sometime.
When I "returned" to MTG after playing it like 3 times with borrowed decks 12+ years ago, the first thing I wanted to build was an Angel tribal deck. Those are my boys. :3 I ended with a Liesa (Shroud of Dusk) Orzhov Angel deck with the obvious Lifegain subtheme, but I feel like I am playing her at half power. REALLY considering to split it up into a dedicated Liesa Lifegain shenanigans deck and a white Angel tribal deck. Most of these angels are already in that deck anyway. Would you say she is the best suited mono white angel tribe commander? :v
I'd say she's the best for at least mono-white. Being a mana dork helps overcome the downsides of that color (even though there's a lot of ramp now in mono-white anyway). Her buff is pretty great, but tbh there's a lot of ways to buff tribes outside of it that other commanders can lean into. I guess it depends on how you look at it, but I think for mono-white she's for sure the best.
pahellion makes 5/5 because they do not see each other etb with giada wording
Good catch, I had originally read Giada's ability as an etb effect. Probably not a good idea to run blade of selves then either for the same reason.
@@MadHatterYT It is a common misstake, I saw it on many Giada deck tech =) I don't have blade of selves in my version
Very good list! Im trying to do the final 20 cuts for mine 😅
I’ve used angels for a while now , it’s nice to see people more inclined to play angels now that giada exists.

@@MadHatterYT Everyone makes mistakes. It gives you a chance to do a 2.0 version! Would you be able to make a Queen Marchesa deck?
