- In this video I show you how to raise a manhole using 9inch birckwork. The manhole I had to raise was in a pathway I was building.. the whole pathway I was building was formed using 80mm block pavers, the pathway was constructed with 4inch of concrete.. reinforced mesh will be used in the pathway too.
Before raising a manhole you'll need to take measurements from fixed heights then work out how many courses you'll need to get to the height plus allowing for bedding down the frame.. the best way to set the frame in is to use two lines from your finished height transferring over the frame, this will give you the best results.

Thank you Dan Appreciate that mate hope it all worked out ok for you 👍👍👌 nice one mate 👊
You definitely wanna be precise!!!..wow.. Nice job my friend..
Very little brick work here on ground or roads .. Homes in my area are brick because there is lots of sand and gravel but most spots in Canada are not
Thanks my friend👍👍 yeah probably a completely different infrastructure from Canada, this is a typical manhole in the uk the old brickwork ones look like this it was in my pathway I was making and had to raise it up to the pathway level, thanks for your support on the channel mate 👌👌 you are a very nice man I've had the privilege to have met ❤, and yeah I get that sometimes with notifications then it comes up in my feed / RUclips browser lol 🤷♂️ all the best man and you be safe 😘
👍👍
Do you have to lay the bricks the way you did, is there a problem if you just make a 1 course rectangle to raise the height 1 brick worth? This is what mine needs, the rest of the ground will be mot1 levelled to the new height. The reson i ask iis ive got enough spare bricks lting around to do this method, however if its not advisable ill have to buy more.
Hi mate 👊
I always build manholes in 9inch solid brick work for the simple reason that you have mentioned you'll be building up the level on the outside with type 1 stone then you'll be compacting it down with a wacker plate doing it in 9inch solid just makes it a stronger job mate you don't want the brickwork to cave in when you are wacking around it it takes afew more bricks and time but that's what I would do
Thanks for your feedback mate and that was a very good question I like it 👌 👍 👊🫡
Nice job mate! I have two cast iron man hole covers in my garden would they take the weight of a car thanks
Quick one….what’s the background tune called? Thanks
Thanks alot mate nice one 👍👍🫡 cast iron is a heavy gauge steel but all depends of what condition there in, I would play it safe and buy a new one that you definitely know it can take the weight 👍👍👊

Name of background music please?
Is this called header and stretcher bond? Cheers
Thanks for stopping by the vid mate appreciate it 👍
The brick bond I did on the manhole is English bond mate which is a course of headers and a course of stretcher, its one of the strongest brick bonds you can do thanks for your comment cheers 👍👍👊
