The NCRC is a great credential for adult learners who don't have degrees or other credentials. It is used widely in states in the east and northwest. Just because you aren't familiar with it doesn't mean it lacks validity.
National Career Readiness Certificate is a portable national recognized credential that enable a person to get into college, or vocational technical school it is a way to supplement a college degree, or other credential they come in four levels Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum.
The National Career Readiness Certificate is a joke. It doesn't tell an employer if the applicant is a good worker. Anyone smart enough to get platinum level certificate is smart enough to get out of working. I know a supervisor who refused to hire anyone that had a great score. It's just a way to stereotype someone who didn't get a great score, but would be a better fit and worker for the company.
walleye364 Soft skills (showing up on time, acting courteous, etc.) is foundational. WorkKeys 3 main tests don't cover soft skills, but there is an optional "Plus" test that does.
