PLEASE never stop making those videos. They're so chill, i love watching your drafting while simultaneously doing something else.
It's not even necessarily the gameplay, it's the drafting.

From one dad to another... After my kid was born my ability to focus and play my A game went way down. The only time I can really play like I used to is when I wake up before my wife and kid on the weekend with a cup of coffee and get a nice league in. That said I don't want to project my life onto yours lsv. Just sharing my experience. All that said, I love that you upload these videos so I can still experience plenty of magic because I am way too tired to play as much as I used to.

@@jonathanrichardson5330 yeah using Swords when you had Mana Drain on deck is wild. Swords is probably more flexible, and Drain ramping you out is way better when you get the chance to play it earlier
I came here to say the same thing. That let's you hold up lose focus on your turn too

I’m not sure your second round opponent could have had better draws if he was intentionally picking them. God tier academy deck meets perfect draws is really something.

I was waiting for something huge, but that honestly wasn't that bad. There was a good chance of recovery depending on the opponent's plays. I actually thought the missplay was holding drain and discarding lose focus at 1:15:30, since lose focus was clearly putting their whole strategy on pause and you couldn't even cast drain. As soon as it was discarded, the opponent went pretty hard.
I’m not optimistic about the games based on the title, but having watched the draft part you absolutely were in the right colors at least.
That Academy deck looked sick and the draws were just pure evil.
That ending was tuff 😭

Hey Luis, have you guys ever considered doing an IPA draft on these servers (if that is even possible)? I know it's not a universally-extolled format, but it's really interesting.
I also want to see more IPA drafts, they are fantastic!

At 18:45 why not go drain the endurance second main dungeoneer and you still have up force for something scary?
Maybe he didn't think of that interaction with how mana drain works at the time

I have a theory, we think way way slower when we talk at the same time. I would be very curious to know if you notice a difference in play while not recording. You are a great Magic player so for sure you can do both, but thoughts travel at much higher speed then speach, that I'm certain of!

For the draft, I really liked your lane. Only picks I disagree on isSteamvents over Resto. Resto is so sick with Initiative.
G1 it might’ve been worth mana draining the endurance mid-combat, going to second main and casting Dungeoneer with force backup. rather than swordsing the endurance and holding up drain and missing a land drop

In the first game you could drain the Endurance and play dungeoneer second main
Game 1 you could have drained the endurance and played a second main dungeoneer with force backup, not sure if that was better.

At 18:49 wouldnt have been good to mana drain endurance to use mana to cast dungeoneer get init hit land drop and have swords up to protect it
Yeah I agree seems like a better play than what he did. Also force was up too all the time so I really dont get why he did it the way he did. Probably just missed it

Scooping with Karakas + Loren vs. an artifact-deck seems a bit premature even if they have some ridiculous stuff going on. They hadn't actually presented a real threat yet; you weren't dying to Sicarian Infiltrator. And Kaldra does trump most of their stuff.

IMO playing the free red splash and the great red cards is way better than stoneforge and a single super expensive equipment.

LSV, sometimes you just move too fast bro. but in the end, this isnt the Pro tour, its just a draft.
I've been enjoying playing Vintage cube without The Initiative. It makes the drafting a lot less interesting when you see any creature that gives initiative, they're almost just auto picks. Then the whole game gets warped around who keeps the initiative and both players focus only on that.
I've found myself mentally checking out since the initiative cards are back.
Hope LSV will find it back.

This is my obligatory "you value this card to highly post".
Once upon a time is a solid card. But in this format if you actually have to pay 2 mana for it, the card is terrible. I think this card is legit slightly below average as a pick, maybe just exactly average. And I am sure it gets better if you are comboing off of creatures. But just finding bombs in a bomb format for 2 mana is not really that insane. And yeah the floor of the card is grab a land, which for free is nice, but for 2 is so bad.
So I don't think the card is undervalued. I think you see it more than you care to because you overvalue it.

You know, he does mention that he would like to play green if he picks it, implying he understands the drawbacks you mention. And yet, he still brought it up and thinks it’s undervalued, which really says something. The card genuinely is broken as hell when you play it. It’s a card that is so subtly influential in the games that you play it that it warrants the admitted disastrous downside of being a 2 mana straight miss a really small amount of the time and a much more inconsequential 2 mana cantrip a small amount of the time. He was similarly low on the card and BK brought him around a while ago. Granted it’s got it’s not among the best but I would say it’s above average.
