This rough animation looks great, one of my favorite things about Monkie Kid is its animation style, that i think it's called Western Sakuga by the fandom. P.S. I'm happy to know that the Fake mayor's name is Mystic Mayor.
Yeah I heard the term Western Sakuga, definitely Monkie Kid is a successor of Rise of the TMNT in this area and I'm glad that I'm/was part of both projects. I'm happy that you found some extra info about the name ;)
I love how the mayors movements are so much more bouncy,his eyebrows are more expressive due to his constant smile They still needed to show emotion,so thats done through his eyes and the position of his eyebrows and its done SO WELL The fact that the smile remains constant when hes nervous and such but you can still tell hes nervous is so cool Hes Such an unhinged character And i love him for it
I’m losing my marbles! Animated shows nowadays are typically 3D, and the ones that are 2D are usually mostly rigging. It’s really neat seeing a modern show with a lot of frame by frame implemented into it. Not that I’m against 3D animation or rigging, but there’s so much of the former that I feel hungry for a good old frame by frame animation Tv show.
I'm absolutely in love with this shows animation. Combined with the super complex designs and constant shading, I salute every single animator on the LMK team.
I just recently became obsessed with this show and want to draw LOTS in this style. This video really shows a lot of movement and different ways to draw the Lego hands! Thank you for posting this it’s sure gonna help me! qwq
I will literally never get tired of watching these super satisfying animation processes; they're so fun to watch. Plus they help us learn a lot about animation

Nie jestem w stanie opisać jak wielki szacunek mam dla Pańskiej pracy. Zwłaszcza biorąc pod uwagę, że w Polsce ciężko jest rozwinąć się w sztuce animacji, a tym bardziej wybić się 2D nad "3D, bo się sprzedaje". I mam nadzieję, że w kolejnym sezonie MK również będzie można zobaczyć Pana rękę.
Beautiful, the story really flowed with ur animatics…would love to learn and be a storyboard artist, as have soo many ideas to make into short films or comic strips
I really love this show and the animation is sooo amazing.. I wanna animate like that! I was very shock how they made everything so dynamic.... like teach me your ways!!
This is super cool thanks for sharing!!! Also could I ask about something, (don't answer if you don't want of course ^^). Why do you draw the mouths without the lip syncing? Is it to guide the animator in charge of that or has another purpose? (Thanks in advance if you answer!)
Because it is not my job, in this pipeline lip sync is done by the person who is responsible for inbetween cleaning, after the key drawings are made clean
