This is definitely a topic worth discussing, there are so many levels and variances on this topic. I have found in my studying travels, of 64 years, that, unfortunately, it is the men of other races and ethnicities that appreciate our natural Hair, while our men, of African descent, do not prefer our natural curly or kinky hair, unless it mimics, a more loose or straight texture. This is definitely a topic that is broad, I have done everything from Wigs Kinky curly hair to Locs for 10 years to short hair, you name it, but I have found that African-American men prefer a straighter texture of hair, they don’t care how it’s straight they just want it straight Again, while we are much more readily accepted for our natural Hair by other races.
Wow 😮 this is so alarming and kind of frightening to hear , yes I did have my suspicions about our men preferring straight textures it’s sad to know it is true but most black women prefer to have straight hair as well , our people definitely need to reevaluate A lot and love ourselves. Dang it’s a shame other races appreciate our true beauty, at this point I’m going where the love is and the money 🤣🤣

I used to worry about things like this but I eventually learned that if a man can’t accept how I am naturally, why would i entertain him? You being your natural authentic self will attract the man of your dreams. This is what I wholeheartedly believe. If you build your attraction on fakeness then that’s all your relationship will be. Like you’re an actress wearing a costume. I show up to spaces as my authentic self and never have any issues. Beauty is beauty lol it needs no extras or enhancements. Confidence is key. And yes the content of your character and your personality is the biggest part too.
I’m not ashamed of my self. What you see is what you get. I don’t give a hoot how rich he is. Not going to try to impress anyone. I’m always in my natural state and if he doesn’t like it he need not approach!

No offense truly, your hair is beautiful. But black, white, rich poor, everybody wants someone clean. You should have washed it first, its giving dirty and full of build up. Secondly, I'm single and 5 months loc'd and occasionally wear wigs or wraps when I'm in between retwists. If I go somewhere where I MIGHT meet someone or have a date I make SURE to show up as my natural self cause I know locs are NOT everyones cup of tea. No way I'm gonna meet you in a wig and show up for a 1st date with locs. If I happen to meet you with a wig, you'll know after the 2nd conversation I'm loc'd and it aint changing. What you see is what you get.

If not, I totally hear what you're saying. The last guy I dated would beg me and beg me to see my real hair (it's armpit length natural 4z) and I refused. Would only show him a photo, my hair was like sacred to me plus I would tell him "It's none of your business. As long as I continue to look hot as f*ck don't bother me about it, the minute I don't look as gorgeous, you let me know and I will fix that, in the mean time, don't bother me about it." (with a smile ofcourse) He was yt. I decided after being married 16 years that I'm going to do whatever the f I want with my hair and no man will ever have a say about it. If I want to wear wigs they can stfu, if I want to wear natural hair same. It's my hair and I'll do what I want, when I want. By the way I LOVED the beautiful style you made. After growing my hair since 2009 my hair isn't as long and lucious as yours is but maybe if I buy some of your products I'll get there. I literally think this is one of the best videos on youtube.
