All of these MTB DH trails can be pretty tough, and the GoPro effect is real. But if you think you can read the footage or if you have ridden these trails, I would love to hear which trail you think is the hardest.
I've been riding and racing Mountain Bikes for 30 years. #1 Blue Intermediate #2 Black Diamond to Double Black Advanced #3 Blue Intermediate but I'm sure the camera doesn't give it justice on how steep it really is. #4 Blue Intermediate.
Thanks for your input! Yeah, the camera does not do #3 justice. On a lot of that trail, I'm struggling to control speed and handle the loose chunk. Good times!
Ha! I don't have much sympathy for you. San Clemente is 1.5 hours away from me. But I'll still help. 😆 One thing you can do is use the Inglewood Pump Track (or a pump track closer to you if there is one). The skills you gain at a pump track help with jumping. There are some smaller jump lines at the top of Santiago Oaks. I think there's maybe some jumps on the Fullerton loop, but I've only done that loop once a while ago. But yeah, like me, you're kind of far from a lot of spots. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
Oh, right on. Narrow and Chunky ends on the same road as Wide and Chunky but a few miles northwest. And Fast and Narrow is actually on the ridge above Fast and Rutty. But I don't think I could get back to Fast and Narrow on my own. 😆
For these trails, the alternative is piling into my truck and burning a bunch of gas or having Olympic XC legs. 🤷🏾♂️ ruclips.net/video/3-89fPxVGjI/видео.htmlsi=EhTjIBJg9YAHMO8t&t=34

Good to see you posting again Alan! I was going to pick #3 too. It looks chunky on GoPro, which says something.
Thanks! Good to be getting healthy again.
Wide and Chunky looked like an absolute blast at first -- and then it turned into DEATH BY CHUNK so quickly lol
Ha! Accurate.
Hey Alan, I think that the chin mount and settings are really good for the pov footage. Rock on🤘
Glad you dig it. It’s my go-to setup.
You really shred now. Is there a place closer than San Clemente you recommend to learn table tops and gaps better. Valley or OC
Hmmm...good question. Where are you driving from?
For dad it’s the bushes! Riding the bushes! 😁Sick vid! Sick riding 🤘🏻
😆🤘🏾
Wade, Bri and I dug that first trail
Yo! That’s rad. Hope you’re doing well!

Redondo beach. But I don’t mind driving an hour or so. San Clemente is a bit far

Thanks for taking the time to answer. Love the vids
No problem. 🤘🏾
Sapwi Bike Park in Thousand Oaks too far?
Sapwi in Thousand Oaks was perfect. Going back this week thanks a lot
Yikes! Impressive riding. So many opportunities to go off course and break something.....or worse. Roll the dice.
Thanks...I prepare to break something every run. 😆
1 was the easiest, 2 and 4 looked really fun but not too technical and 3 looked the hardest, but also like a lot of fun.
🤘🏾
Narrow and Chunky for me. The other trails have more visibility.
💯
I heard #3 is running all time right now…some weird local dude told me
LOL! Tell him I said hi. 😆
hi Alan, what tyre width are you running on this trails? 2.4 or 2.6? thx
2.5 / 2.4
@@mtb_alan 2.5 front, right?
@@Nino_from_Vienna Yup. 2.5 front. 2.4 back.
🙏
what mount do you use for gopro?
Telesin chin mount.
Hardest to easiest from my point of view: 3, 2, 1, 4
That's pretty close to how I would rate them. :)
I find 4 harder than 1, but maybe that's because I've crashed on it more. LOL
@@mtb_alanI only picked 4 as easier because that’s what we mostly have in central NC 😅
@@RapidoRafi-MTB Totes makes sense. :)
Why gate keep… why
Hmmm...show a large public audience how to get to off-menu trails. I wonder how that'd go for me. 🤔
are these all at the same spot or were you just rating random dh trails
They're all on the same mountain.
Hint: there's a bike brand named after the area. ;)
@@mtb_alan oh yea ive been to the place many times I just don't know where a lot of the trails are
@@mtb_alan ive ridden wide and chunky and fast and rutty. I have been trying to find the others forever but no luck :(

everyone is using electric now!
