To anyone watching this that wants to come here and ride PLEASE USE A BELL. We nearly lost all MTB access to these trails due to a lawsuit with the county and the agreement was we would use bells. There are ample signs at all the trail heads along with bell boxes. Even in 2021 they proposed only allowing bikes on these trails certain days of the week. So please for those of us that live here and ride these trails every week make sure you bring a bell.
Hard to believe the trails looked like that only four months ago. Lot of those crossings just got smacked in the last couple rains. I just rode the West Fork yesterday and it is almost back together But the poison oak is getting thick. Great video but as the guy said earlier, please use bells. I know they’re tough on your videos but people get really pissed if you don’t have them and it reflects poorly on all,of us.
Dude, I appreciate you leaving in some of the real struggles haha, I can completely relate to to dry, loose switchback white-knuckling! Keep up the rad content. Cheers
Nice looking jank. Flowy gnar, the best baby. Appreciated keepin’ it real, showing that we don’t all clean everything the first time. Oh, and the lyric you needed was: punky. 😂🤙
Like that area. We used to ride Upper Oso on a regular basis. Riding those switchbacks over the chunk. Looked like a fantastic day. Thanks for sharing.
We love the Santa Barbara trails. My favorite is the electric mountain bike and we go up them rather than down because the technical challenge is so fun. A lot of us are almost 60 so we don't like the risk anymore of hauling ass downhill so instead we "haul our asses" up the hill and challenge ourselves in the rocky technical sections. It's a lot of fun! And anyone who says you're cheating on an electric mountain bike has no idea what they're talking about! 💪
Tunnel the chunk that never ends. I like to finiah tunnel with a lap upinspiration and down jesusita its a good combo if you havent done it you gotta give it a go
Cloud climbers might do it for you. Actually it's not that difficult to just ride your bicycle up Gibraltar Road to East Camino Cielo and then come down.
I live here & have ridden these trails for years the views are epic & the trails are world class rock gardens ya better have some flow going down these trails they are not for the average person ya better have some skills.
Nice video. Lost a lot of skin on those trails growing up. No protection, no suspension and toe clips strapped up tight to stay on the bike was a bit brutal.
Totally! We were doing these trails back in the 80s and by the time you got home your arms and your kidneys were screaming in pain! When I got older, late 50s, riding a full suspension bike is just absolutely amazing when you have the perspective of the old school crap we used to ride. But we did it anyways!
Thanks! I actually had the Action 4 which was a lot better than the 3. But in the end, I prefer the image and audio quality of the GoPro. As a note, I got an adapter for the GoPro that lets it work with DJI's magnetic clip, and that solidified the decision for me.
@@mtb_alan thank you. I notice you're using gopro because the footage has a distinct gopro yellowish tone, then you mentioned you scratched the mod lens. great edit as always. your energy is contagious.. ☺☺
@@intertube1000 The yellowish tone is partly the rocks there in Santa Barbara and my bad color grading skills. 😆 Out of the camera, the footage is more balanced. Thanks! Hope you got stoked!

Chunks after chunks, proper fun looking trails right there! Felt that hit with the sneaky boulder just by watching the video.
Super fun and gorgeous views. Yeah, them boulders don’t budge. 😅

Love seeing this kinda stuff. Pushing the limits!

Insane chunk! Great ride!!!
Chunky like my peanut buttah!
Thanks!
So sick, great crew on this ride! Sucks about the boulder super glad it wasn't worst
Thanks! It was a rad day!
Hell yeah! Those trails look so dope. It's there a shuttle in the area for hire for those of us traveling around in a van?
I haven’t used a shuttle service in Santa Barbara but a Google search came up with at least one option that might be good.
Cloud climbers might do it for you. Actually it's not that difficult to just ride your bicycle up Gibraltar Road to East Camino Cielo and then come down.
Santa Barbara?
Those trails look super fun!
💯 Rad trails!
Cold springs and tunnel are tough west fork is fun east beach tacos also has really good tacos also on milpas near the beach at the batting cages
Thanks for the suggestions! 🌮
Chunky Monkey indeed Alan! & that rock jumped out on you, I saw it! 😂Santa Barbara looks sick 🤜🤛
Sneaky rocks! 😆
Santa Barbara is one of the best places on the planet. La Super Rica is the bomb!
💯
And yeah! La Super Rica was tasty!

Totally agree with all of that!
When we were kids we were doing these trails back in the 80s with fully rigid bikes. It certainly makes you appreciate what we have today.
Feeling kind of funky that's why I drink the Brass Monkey!
Ya put yer left leg down, your right leg up...!
Nice video. Lost a lot of skin on those trails growing up. No protection, no suspension and toe clips strapped up tight to stay on the bike was a bit brutal.

that's a great video, tunnel is super chunky, glad you're Ok.
I know you have DJI action 3, now back to gopro and using gopro mod lens?
Thanks!

Doesn’t the the local trail association super encourage you to ride with a bell and sometimes even provides them at the trailhead?
🛎️
Super sick riding! As much as it sucks, definitely rock the bell if riding SB. Theres enough animosity from the hikers
Yes, definitely use your bells, and in my opinion, don't do these trails on the weekends, there are simply too many hikers.
