Did anyone else notice the accesiblity upgrades at 170 St as well?
13:51 Just a good view of 2 train models from different divisions but with the exact same sound (R143 and R142A)
thats a 4 train
@@Ortiz133 Yes I know that r142a is a 4 train and the R143 is an L train
WOW
This is were I grew up, Brownsville, Brooklyn. BROWNSVILLE , EAST NEW YORK & CANARSIE , STAND UP!
Livonia Av service:
(L) - 8 Av-14 St, Manhattan ↔️ Canarsie-Rockaway Pkwy, Brooklyn via 14 St; Canarsie {Next Stop West: Sutter Av; Next Stop East: New Lots Av}
Nice! This is my neighborhood! You used to be able to see 3 trains go all the way to Pennsylvania Avenue.
Wow
I worked the 3, the L, and the 4 as a conductor in early to mid 80's.😉😉😉
Very interesting
Nice what train models were you conducting
I thought IRT workers couldn’t work on BMT or IND lines because the tech was “completely different”.
Vice versa
@@onlyinnewyork7103 IRT was just getting rid of the r33's r62's were just coming in. Redbirds were also rebuilt. The L line had R16"s, R27's. In 1988 they got rebuilt R27's.
@@gregorysweat3751 woah
Attention anyone 3 trains are not running between New Lots Ave 4 train or not running
My favorite intersection
It's hard to believe that the R143s are at or nearing 20 years old.
Its 16 years old
@@IND3648
That's odd. The R143's were delivered to MTA property between 2001 and 2003.
@@TheChicagoL oooh I thought u were talking about when it began service
@@TheChicagoL well then its 19 - 17 years old
They are showing a bit of age now.. howling motors and dead ones, loud wheel bearings, dirt and grime all over, the trucks are rusted. The propulsion is decalibrated and screeching on some cars, 8213 and 8220 namely. If you take a look at the new R211 and then the R143, you'll see what I mean pretty clearly.
You have to put in a request to switch divisions. When they have a pick as long as you have one year on the job you can pick into the A or B division. You will go back to school car, break in on every line then work your picked job.😉😉😉
Yes it does
I use to live around there. Wow everything changed
Every block along Livonia Avenue from Van Sinderen Avenue to Sheffield Avenue has new buildings. I remember there being nothing there but grass.
@@Bklynkid52 exactly. Seeing them new buildings around there is like poisoning my childhood
Whoa
they building elevators that will take u to a passage they building up to transfer to the 3 train at junius with out having to pay another fare! so say good by to that little passage bridge on livonia & junius! they gonna knock it down completley
Cool
Awesome 👏
Thats my subway Station I use to Live East NY But we Move To canada Wich is Montreal' But in that station I took 3 train And thats it
My dream is to be a conductor when I get older, but question. Will there be conductors in 2030?
If they eliminate conductor I'm sure you will be able to become a train operator.😉😉😉
Idek now that im thinking about it
I think CBTC will take over
Yes it does
I'm curious about something and I was wondering if you or anybody else in the comments would know, but seeing as so many sections are elevated and really old, what's their lifespan? Will they have to be replaced in the future or can proper maintenance keep it up for as long as it needs?? Just curious about that since this one time on the 2,5 stop at gun hill and I felt the entire structure shaking and rocking as the train stopped lol.
i don't know the r211 is in new york i think
I just find it crazy how u have 2 train lines for the irt and there was still more L trains passing by
The L has CBTC, so trains can run more frequently and closer together.
@@qazisnotapeopleperson7167 ooh I was wondering y there was so much trains
Cool
