3:26 I LIKE THE TRAIN SOUND
NYC subways are the best. They are peerless in my regard.
The R160 makes the same sounds as the R142
@@NYCGUY-nt7yq Same propulsion system. The R160 sounds like the R142, the R143 sounds like the R142A / R188. Not to say the R188 and R142A are the same.
I just can’t hate this line
Beautiful video nice 👍
Love the sound on the R143
i’d prefer the R160A sound 😅
@@Synth69 Everyone is entilted to their own opinion.

THE L TRAIN IS GOOOOOD 🙂🙂🙂🙂🥰
It was actually originally called they LL train with a more dark grey background until it changed the L train in the 1990s or early 2000s
@Marques Stevenson so it is the Lucky Train so that’s why when I draw the L train and I named her Loyal or Lucky

Is it just me.....or do some of those cars need to take a trip to Coney Island Yard....for a quick trip to the car wash....
Don't they have one there at this yard?
@@odemata87 at Canarsie...I don't think so.....been a while since I worked there (last time I was there they still had R27/30 cars in service)..they would most likely use Coney Island Yard.. Jamaica Yard is another option (via temporary equipment transfer....since the M line also uses 8 car trains)...they did that with R68 cars over 30 years ago when CIY wash was down
@@odemata87 Yes there is a car wash there.

I know they worked on ENY....when did they do Canarsie....I retired from TA in 2002...and went back and forth between IRT and BMT/IND divisions....so if I missed reconstruction....must've been when I was in IRT....when I retired the new tech cars were just starting to arrive in BMT/IND

Was this shot at the end of the morning rush? \m/
Very gut
I cannot believe the Transit Authority got rid of the only railroad crossing in the system near 105th street. I used to go passed it when I operated the LL Line on overtime in late 1968 to 1973. I forget the old cars that were on the LL but the power handle was on the right side and I had to put my brake handle on the left side in the motormans cab which was awkward. Also these were the ONLY TRAINS IN THE SUBWAY WHERE THE CONDUCTOR OPERATED THE DOORS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CAR. The conductor could not observe the station platform when the train left the station. Anyone caught in the doors could be dragged and killed. All doors back then had 4 inches of "PLAY" in them.
Cool
Uhh are you like talking about the R10s?

I have a question, why do the Carnarsie bound L trains go really slowly?
Cause the next stop is the last in the Canarsie bound direction. They have to go slow to avoid crashing into the bumper at the end of the station.
@@iitrapezoid_8243 thx
Yes
Whoa
cool
The next and last stop is carnisa rockway Blvd she spud so happy to say that
You are close to my home station
I would like to see an R143 being transferred to Jamaica Yard for the M train for rush hour service once the CBTC is completed
M trains are stationed at the East New York Yard, but yes it will be cool to see a R143 on the M.
North Jersey Train Enthusiast and Jamaica Yard also has 2 8-car R160 Sets I believe for 2 AM Put-in’s on the (M)
The M's yards are not ENY its Fresh Pond Yard
YTP EliBoi it has trips from both...

Lady and gentlemen
I have a question. Why isn't there ever an r68 train on the L canarsie line?
Because they are not there.
Because the curves on the L are too tight to fit 75 footers, meaning the R44,46 and 68s are all bared from running on it's route.
What the heck
L train on yard track I gtg of mhttn arriving yo

Is there a grade crossing near E 105 Street?
There used to be....it was eliminated in the 1970s

How fast do these trains actually go
At most 50 mph
@@RubyyVista thats not even slow considering how long this train is and how close the stations are to each other
most go 55 at most, but the R142 and R142A are designed to do beyond 60
I think the fastest they get up to is 65 to 70 MPH.

I'd be surprised if there was an R160B on the L line.
Impossible R160Bs runs with 10 car sets, The L runs with 8 car sets
@@superistic911 theres always married pairs. Thats the only way, but its impossible... but very possible if you look it that way
@@joshuajimenez6893 nah it’s just impossible
@@joshuajimenez6893 There is actually no way for a R160B to be on the L line. There are two versions of the R160: the R160A (built by Alstom, numbered 8313-8712, 9233-9802, & 9943-9974) and the R160B (built by Kawasaki, numbered 8713-9232 & 9803-9942). There cannot be a 4 car R160B coupled to a R160A since the other half of a R160B has 5 cars which will make issues. I drilled R 68 equipment when they were single cars... oldest thing they had out in my day were R 10 equipment... it got easier for the new people...only thing hard is the discipline in NYCT...P.S ....they have a car wash in A Y yard... sorry Canarsie yard for you new people...have a nice day...
