yes. great playing i think. great tones too. he gets a lot of grit and grime out of that telecaster. his facial expressions (especially his mouth) indicate the guitar expressiveness, the 'vocal' quality of the playing.
My Orange Burst arrive a couple of weeks ago...I love it! It's becoming my go to overdrive along with the Ultimate Drive. Will probably get myself a Pure Sky at some point
One of my favorite demos Shane. I bought the pure sky because of this. Quite similar to the blues driver on low gain but much more transparent. The Caline pure sky, the Joyo California and American are my favorite light overdrive pedals. For mid gain Overdrive and distortion I'm absolutely in love with Mxr prime distortion which is much less harsh than the badass 78. Looks like you guys had a good night the night before. Absolutely great video.
So, I've owned both of these pedals for a good while at this point. I like to use fairly light tube amp overdrive and guitar volume, and use one of these pedals (usually also set to light overdrive) to push the amp over the top for heavier parts of songs. For a long time, I solely used a 15 watt EL84 amp, and during this time, I vastly preferred the Pure Sky...no comparison, it just sounds much more open and rich with this amp. Well, recently, I've been working much more with a freshly renewed 60's Fender Bassman amp, and tried these pedals with it, and surprise....the Orange Burst sounds vastly better than the Pure Sky with it. No comparison, and the volume boost function is indispensable. It just goes to show how much of this pedal thing can vary wildly depending on the amp you are using. I suppose it makes sense considering how much the EQ curves of amps & cabs can vary, along with different amp breakup characteristics.
This is my favourite In The Blues demo video so far. That amp is a much better choice for showing how pedals sound, than the one (ones?) in the other videos I've seen - the clean sound actually is a clean sound. I loved the Santana at the end, with the two pedals stacked together.
The problem is when you use a Two-Rock amp people say "anything sounds good though a $4000 amplifier" haha. :-) Thanks for the comments mate cheers. :-)
Thanks Rick & Shane for the demo, great playing shows off the sounds these pedals can produce for the price. Seemed to have very low floor noise as well thanks guys.
The whole line of Caline pedals is fantastic and for unbelievable price! What I do like, and in mine believe you can hear and feel that, these pedals have no SMD components. Good old fashioned components on a good PCB. A big diff with most of the modern pedals. They feel and sound not lifeless and cold.
i own a caline orange burst pedal. at first, it seems that the high frequencies are a little bit harsh. until i turn back down a little the mid frequency on my marshall amp and it sounded great.
Caline pedals are legit…. So amazing how good they sound and their very affordable price point …. There is no excuse for everyone not to have incredible tone…. With these price points….
Hi Shane Ever considered doing some demos of your pedals through the Mustang iii? I just purchased one and was surprised at how well it took pedals. I bet a few viewers would be interested? Thank for the work you put in........ really appreciated.
I have done some modulation and delay demos through it but i don't always find overdrive pedals sound as good through it as the built in ones. I'll make a patch that might work with pedals, I'll see how it goes :-) Thanks for the suggestion Neil Brewer
Thanks Brandon Witherspoon . I got it around 2011 and I haven't tried the new lefty model yet. I had this one re-fretted with Stainless Steel frets too so it should last a while now. Those vintage frets wore out pretty quickly. Cheers man :)
I have the Pure Sky and like it but want to add a different colored, smooth creamy T Screamer type pedal that does have a thicker mid or mid bump. Which Caline would be best? I don't want to duplicate the sound of the pure sky. The Midlander? Thanks for any feedback
Hi dear, could i ask which in your opinion is more transparent and clear? I would like to use in front of my joyo hot plexi to give It more gain But with definition and clear Sound too (the Guitar i use had yjm Seymour Duncan pickup). Regards, Luigi
Great playing, they both sound good, especially together. I'm gonna order the orange burst, i have the timmy clone on joyo baatsin. Btw what is that telecaster, it says fender but the headstock looks different?
#Caline continue assim nao entre para onda dos smd e nem de mini pedal .. Assim esta perfeito esses Pedais design Nome e Som Fantasticos atenticos PARABÉNS !!!!!!
I already have 2 overdrives (one Caline and one Donner), but what the hell? ...at less than 50 bucks each I can afford at least 2 more! : ) Actually, the "Clear Veil" Caline Fuzz Overdrive is one strange pedal. There is minimal fuzz and maximum clear. Its just weird... The Donner is pretty normal. But I definitely need another pedal..and soon? ..I'll need a new board to fit these things on. Yea
I just bought both of them. Now I just have to wait for them to arrive... From Hong Kong. To Denmark. It takes about a month. They should try using something other than a bicycle for their shipping :-)
How do these pedals sound with humbuckers? Heard so many budget pedals sound amazing with strats or teles. Then I get it (les Paul player) and sounds like poo
Just take a 1/4 turn off of your volume or so. Humbucker are really over driven. One substitute is having one volume up and the other 2/3-3/4 up, then you can switch between really overdriven bucket sound vs something in the vicinity of a single. Tone knobs matter too.
Is this really a fair comparison I mean come on you're going through a Two Rock amplifier? How many guitar players are using a 3-4,000 amplifier? Now if you ran this pedal through the front end of a say Fender Blues Deluxe a moderately lower priced amplifier that would be fair but come on you could run a dog turd through the front end of that Two Rock and you know it's going to sound good. All in all still a pretty good video I think.
i got a question with all respect to the player that used to play more with the face than hands.... i mean is it better when you do that?? is just a stupid question!
+Nicole Safriet Do a Google image search of "blues face", you'll find that all the greats did that. The guy in this video is doing more of an unorthodox open-mouthed technique, but "blues face" is definitely a thing.
Shame on you for making fun of someone's twitch they can't help. You wish you could play as good as him. People used to make fun of Michael Jordan for sticking his tongue out. Now he collects $100 million every year for having his name and logo on a shoe.
then listen don't watch if it upsets you too much - there's always a solution - in fact it's probably better as you can scroll the screen down so only the pedal settings and guitar are visible .... that way you can hear without excessive facial / visual stimulation ............. hope this helps
The Caline Orange Burst pedals are 'outstanding'. Sensational tone and can't beat the price.
This man is undeniably a super guitarist. I like the way he is always trying to "feel" the music. Some other guys are just going through the motions.
yes. great playing i think. great tones too. he gets a lot of grit and grime out of that telecaster. his facial expressions (especially his mouth) indicate the guitar expressiveness, the 'vocal' quality of the playing.

Very helpful demo. I just placed an order for both of these pedals. Thanks dude!

These two pedals sound amazing thru my humble Blues Junior, Vox AC15C1, and Laney Cub12R combos.
I just bought a pure sky it's fantastic .it makes everything sound much better .i like it a lot

2 great pedals ! Sounds really nice ! Great video !
incredible guitarist!!! so are you Shane!! Love these reviews!
Great playing and demo! Awesome feel faces. Thanks for doing this!

Surface Mt. are more reliable and less breakage from vibration and impact. They sound every bit as good and often better than thru hole.
@@RFXCasey Yep, And the same goes for amps, hand-wired doesn't necessarily equal great tone. But try telling that to some "tone experts".
i own a caline orange burst pedal. at first, it seems that the high frequencies are a little bit harsh. until i turn back down a little the mid frequency on my marshall amp and it sounded great.
Ahh, made me cry playing While My Guitar Gently Weeps…Beatles, that was a long time ago
Sounds great! Nice attack, sustain and "livin' breathin' tone" Cool
the two together are fantastic.. i love my PS.. getting the orange burst.. thanks so much gents
i bought these both from this review
The Orange Burst chip is in a socket, it can be swapped out to try other variants. Great pedal. It is currently my go to.
all caline pedal is same to??
The movement of his mouth was like a wah pedal😅✌but i love the way he plays the guitar👏👏
Dr. Rick busting out with some foreigner! I love it!
Killer facial expressions
He got the blues :)
That’s the standard guitar face! (Might be above the standard)
Great Demo. Great Pedal. Great Player.
Great faces too
Great player and tones!
Caline pedals are legit…. So amazing how good they sound and their very affordable price point …. There is no excuse for everyone not to have incredible tone…. With these price points….
Hi, how have these held up? Do you still use them or shelved them to use something more expensive?
Orange Burst 5:27
Pure Sky 5:53
Stacked! 7:25
Great riffs, nice sounds! What tele is that?

He play really good very dynamic
Caline Orange Burst is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Led Zeppelin... listen to Custard Pie... I'm so keen to buy it.
Not keen on the Pure Sky on its own but stacked with the OB-----what a sound!
Great vid! Hey Shane I was wondering what year your '52 reissue is, if its older have you tried the newer revamped American Vintage '52? Thanks!

Pure Sky is more transparent.

reminds me the SX headstock with a Fender decal
Use quick swaps for comparisons, tks!
"Thanks, mum." Rick's a funny guy, no?
The sustain at 08:06 is wild
#Caline continue assim nao entre para onda dos smd e nem de mini pedal .. Assim esta perfeito esses Pedais design Nome e Som Fantasticos atenticos PARABÉNS !!!!!!
he came at the end 🤣
Great video

Hi great video. Which Fender Telecaster is that you using? Is the the American, Classic Vibe or which one? Thanks.
I think it's Ric's 1951 Reissue Telecaster :) He put new pickups in it recently but I can't remember what they are called.
intheblues Ok thank you. When you find out, kindly let me know. Thanks...
just bought the orange burst. Mine looks differente, it has OVERDRIVE printed. Maybe mine is a different version?
Its just the same.
The facial expression adding more good tones? Nice pedals.
I just bought both of them. Now I just have to wait for them to arrive... From Hong Kong. To Denmark. It takes about a month.
They should try using something other than a bicycle for their shipping :-)
And now they are here. Perfectly packed and sounding great! They're a bargain!
Shipment to Brazil takes about 2-3 months
saludos desde Panamá!
Nice, black magic woman at the end
Ironically the OB sounds more open & transparent than the Pure Sky.
Sounds more middy and focused than PS. The Pure Sky then sounds more open because reach higher frequencies.
Two Rock > Blues Jr imo. Wish the finale had been on the TR.
How do these pedals sound with humbuckers? Heard so many budget pedals sound amazing with strats or teles. Then I get it (les Paul player) and sounds like poo
Sounds good from my les paul (toneriders) . Fat and rich od tone

I use a blue sky through Marshall, Vox, Katana and even a Joyo American, works well with all of them.
i got a question with all respect to the player that used to play more with the face than hands.... i mean is it better when you do that?? is just a stupid question!
😂
me gusta el sonido ... los gestos que hace son graciosos
are these pedals noisy????
nice playing but he seems to think that shaking the neck is the same thing as a tremolo arm! lol
Licks sound like black magic woman at 7:54
this expression 😂
Ha ha Thanks mum !!
No mouf, no blaeus
Eu ouvi um Gary Moore perdido aí no meio heim kkkk
Timmy's and Tele's don't mix.
Put some shoes on. Shheesh
What's up with the face?! lol
That's the face of rock! 🤣
Straighten up your closet.
Tenhoo ;)
Mucho gestos y poca armonía 😂😂😂
can someone please do a demo without making those dumb faces when they play
+Nicole Safriet Do a Google image search of "blues face", you'll find that all the greats did that. The guy in this video is doing more of an unorthodox open-mouthed technique, but "blues face" is definitely a thing.
Nicole Safriet haha it is a bit much but still don't be petty

When you can play like that, you get to make faces. Until then, stfu.
