After reading everyone's comments, it's very worrying how people are feeling, myself included. The fear in everyone's words is paramount. These sort of bullying tactics don't help but only serve to hinder. It personally has a detrimental impact on my mental health, and I become servely overwhelmed. Labour has a long history of this. Look at what happened with the miners in the 80's, the prison system for decades, basic infrastructure and workers rights. All were policies by Labour that continued or were fixed under the Tories. Yet they're flouted as Tory issues.

Although I was told a couple of years ago that I will be left alone. I'm on PIP too, I have a very bad memory loss & aphasia but I'm expected to look for employment???? Well done for all your hard work & advice
I think they want people with "milder" conditions going back to work with much less medical history to back them up. That is why they are talking about for example taking away the 'substantial risk' criteria in regards to the LCWRA etc. This would result in a sizable number of claimants being placed in LCW amd therefore not elligble for the extra money. In your case I think if you have that sort of well documented evidence you'll have less to worry about. Of course we all know that DWP you can never be entirely off your guard though I guess.
Hello Stu , thanks so very much for all your efforts to keep us up to date with all the changes and uncertainty around the DWP right now, I really appreciate all you do!

What I have found out is that there will be changes to the WCA for people claiming universal credit for the LCWRA element. The government are looking at tighten the points on “mobility, social situations and risks to claimants and others”. This will only affect new claimants and not people that are currently on LCWRA.Keep up with the good work👍
They want to use the PIP criteria applied to LCWRA I heard. I was found ineligible for PIP at 4 points last year but did get LCWRA last year. So it's evidently people just like me that they have in mind who they intend to 'hunt down' ala Liam Neeson style.
My husband was awarded 4pts by PIP assessor & the same at mandatory reconsideration. We took it to Tribunal appeal & he was awarded 23 points with no change in his health. A lengthy (18 month) & challenging process, but ultimately he got justice. Good luck with a system not fit for purpose. Seek help with the forms & provide evidence.

Would not work for the DWP even if i was paid £100,000 a year, would not want to be a part of an organisation that causes nothing but stress and hassle to the people who have to deal with them.

I don't even understand HOW the sickness benefit system can be defrauded, as a claimant for a long while now, I have had to fight strenuously for the benefits that on paper I am entitled to. I have always ended up being awarded full benefit, but that follows sometimes over a year in the appeals system whilst living with lowered income and anxiety inducing uncertainty about my future. The picture presented by most of the media on the subject of benefits are at best inaccurate and at worst total disinformation, setting the working poor against the disabled poor. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
Just found your channel, thank you for your efforts, very helpful! I have recently become disabled, I have had my right knee cap removed almost 40 years ago and it has finally given up, I also have serious ankle issues on my other leg meaning I have quite poor mobility and severe pain. To top this off I also have now been told I have COPD, causing me to become breathless very easily... I have worked up until last year when my health issues just made it impossible, I have been awarded highest rate PIP mobility and lower rate for living plus LWRCA thingy UC. Im 56 years old, are they seriously suggesting that I can go back to work? (who would even employ me as most of the time I'm immobile or in so much pain I cant do anything) I feel rather betrayed as having worked hard, paid my taxes and find myself in this situation only now to be singled out as a scrounger or burden on society??? Im feeling rather angry atm!
I know how you feel. People with my illness are labelled scroungers yet they won't invest in research to find treatments for the neurological disease I have.
If you would like to find others experiencing in similar situations or just being unfit to work try searching for the Scope forum where people share their experience.
Let's see how they try and force someone who is totally blind to get back to work. I worked in IT enterprise Support before I went blind. I would have a very nice try doing that now.
In the last year, the 'cost of living' top up payments (Tory gov) came to apprx £900 extra and made a huge difference. They've not been continued. So facing this winter with a whopping cut to my disabled income. Do you know if this shower of forked tongues are planning anything similar to tide over until their 'reforms' are in action? I'm a lot more worried about this winter than last one, a lot. It is affecting my mental health and physical health - I've applied for warm home discount and qualified through energy supplier but it's cold in Scotland.
16:10 the thing that bugs me is they always talking of doing X Y Z to protect people from crime but the people at always get hit by these schemes and systems are the innocent people that are just struggling to survive, the criminals don’t use there real names or info so they can usually get around any inconveniences that are thrown at them, it reminds me of the nonsense you wouldn’t steal a car thing you get on dvds that of course because you own a legitimate copy you are forced to watch but if someone has a illegal copy they can just fast forward it if it’s even there in the first place. I think the real problem is they see everyone as scammers and thieves because they can’t get their little minds around the idea that someone is different from them, they are like well I can walk so why can’t you?
In my workplace access to work came in and did an assessment which made a long number of proposals which my employer 8gnored saying that they would cost too much to implement. It is a sick joke that the Red tories in government expect employers to want to employ disabled people who will cost them money to employ through reasonable adjustments. This red Tory government simply does not care if those claiming disability benefits we live or die. How about the government going after the tens of billions of tax avoidance and evasion by the super rich? Starmer and Co are playing the old divide and rule card by attacking the disabled. This fits in with the UN assessment made in its April 2024 report into the UK which states that disabled people face systemic violations of their human rights. It will probably need legal action to challenge the human rights violations which this government will commit.
I feel like we're still waiting for the other boot to drop and when it does it's sure as hell not going to be good news. Whoop so benefit's go up by less than 2% next year even though energy costs are up by 10% during winter(conveniently) and food costs are sure as hell going up by more than 5% from what I see when I do my shopping. It's a good thing poorly trained ppl aren't thinking they know our health problems better than our Dr's....oh wait they are 😥
Over 1800,000£ per person (based on 70 million population) was cost of NHS 2022-23. Gov could open the sector entirely to private interests, and provide each citizen with top of the range private health insurance (Inc dental & eye), and save an insane amount of money. Money to pay for maintaining our society, & caring for our most vulnerable.
Thanks stu for the information which was not that good but then that’s labour for you hope everything is well. I’ve have now been told to stop working at my work place as a epileptic… after being at the same job for 24 years they have now tightened up there health & safety rules over the years I’ve worked there was working 28 hours per week then the OH person said it would be better for me to work 16.5 hrs PW which was just working afternoons all week, so now the company have said that they have helped me as much as they can & now they’ve stopped me working from August 2024 they are basically wanting me to get well enough to go back to work there as over the years working there I have had a few days or weeks off sick. My benefits are UC & max PIP rates! I’m off until next year sometime. I have lived own my own for 10 years have 2 children 1 boy 18 a girl 13 but I live on my own in a 1 bedroom private rent flat which I love, I had my dad and a step mum who is my appointee on the UC as she is great helping me out with all the UC hassle we receive most weeks 😄😱…. Anyway what do unthinking about what my work are trying to achieve? Thanks Olly
Sorry for the miss spelling as it was a long message and I didn’t read it back 😁 the last thing I said was meant to say “what do you think about what my work are trying to do”? Kick me out slowly in a nice way by paying me sick pay while trying a new drug going on blood pressure tablets as my blood pressure was high etc etc I could go on & on !!! 👍🏻
@MarcR34 get a union representative. They can help when dealing with your workplace trying to get rid of you. Falling this you can go to CAB. You need someone on your side. If your boss wants you to leave. You'll be due payment for being there a long time. Make sure you get someone who knows how compensation works. Best of luck.
@@victoriahouse9969 thank you Victoria for your sympathy with my situation I’m in at the moment and for your information you’ve given me 😊 … 1 thing I didn’t or don’t know about is CAB? Another thing I didn’t put in my message to stu was that I have a serious speech impediment ( serious) isn’t the right word I can’t think of another which I’ve have had all my life, my epilepsy happened when I was born then it went away so I had a seizure free childhood then when I was 14 years old it came back and has got worst and worse over the years I’m ( 48 ) now so I’ve had drop attacks, black outs, twitching. I’m basically known to have ( mild seizures ).
Just got a migration letter, i've been on esa for 7-8 years and just been moved into the support group 3 months ago, the date is 25 january that my esa stops or 2 weeks after i sign up for uc.
I have the same letter and date! Try not to worry, I know it’s hard but these things we can’t control only work within the appeals process, if it gets that far. The worst thing you can do is worry about it. Stay strong and mind of peace.
@@rainbowvisionart8025 I'm not sure whether to wait to around the 13th of January for my last esa payment and then apply for uc ? I just want to get thru the coldest part of the year as I am 49 yo, originally from Hertfordshire but now live in one of the coldest average temperature places outside the Highlands, the Scottish Borders, it gets very cold then. And I'm a southern fairy when it comes to the cold, lol
I’m really struggling financially as I miss out on the ESA severe disability premium due to my son living with me as he can’t afford to rent anywhere and now I have to pay half my pip to my local authority towards my care I’ve never been so broke can’t afford to eat and heat it’s ridiculous I wish I could work I’m very poorly and very disabled I’m scared to death I was on more money back In 2012 than I am now and I am sicker now go figure??? This is severely effecting my mental health as I can’t afford to leave my home
What I read the changes to the work capability assessment will not effect existing people who get LCWRA only if changes reported to universal credit and they will not get reassessments but it will affect new claiments from next year
Looks like i will never vote Labour again as a disabled person, I should have stuck to voting green but thought with the Tories out, Labour would be more compassionate like they used to be in the 90s, I'm thankful the Tories are gone but now it feels like not only are Labour turning out to be just as bad, The Tories or ReformTories will be back in power in 5 years, and that terrifies me too as a disabled person, We just cant catch a break can we?
Hello Stu might be interesting if you can do a video on reliable sources! Every day seems to be a story about PiP via sites like Birmingham live and on RUclips channels like UK times seems to be very misleading! 😂 Regards John
Remember when Labour were screaming like a B over Universal Credit. Last Saturday I got my sodding migration letter, After a few ...... them words. Stuart, can you explain the difference of the carers allowance qualifying weekly hours? I am being assessed as a full time carer for my mentally disabled friend who lives with me due to his extreme vulnerability. I have been told I need to prove I spend 35 hours a week looking after him to qualify for the allowance, however I heard you say 16 hours a week for carers, have I misunderstood or is it that Reeves has changed the qualifying criteria ? Thanks Stuart for all your kind efforts. Aiden
You still need to care for 35 hours, the difference is that you are also allowed to work for 16 hours and still get the full weekly amount without losing
If a person receives 16hrs of carers allowance, then that person shuld work 16hrs but no, its 30 or 35hrs... the government are saving a crap ton by forcing carers to work the rest for free; I thought slavery was banned.
What's with your hair bro? I was digging the cool old man cut. Every time I try and grow mine out on top I have to go out looking like a homeless old dude & at 44 I can't cope mentally with that look for now, so I short back & side it. Long live our good hair✌
Hi there, I wrote before that I am highest rates on disability living allowance, highest rate of care component and highest rate of disability mobility benefits. I have severe mental health issues due to abuse from a nhs incident. And have an expected life span of unknown because they cannot provide a diagnosis apart from numerous disorders. I got form saying they were transferring me onto universal credit, my father used to help me with forms but died himself a couple of months ago. This letter alone caused a mental break and now I am have to fill this form online , do you have any idea how long it takes to do this online process? Thank you so sorry for my sob story but I’m not in a good place over this Dwp last wrote and said they would not be contacting me anymore due to my latest test results then I get this am scared.
The online form doesn't take too long to fill out. My colleague Edward is currently making a transitional protection guide which I will share once it's complete which should be helpful.
Thanks for asking this as I’d like to know this too. Do they just ask everyone across the board, even if you’ve been on PIP and ESA support group for decades?
I can't leave my house without having a panic attack, I can't be surrounded by large groups of people, use public transport, or go anywhere without having my ear buds in. What job are they going to force me into?
Conditions which fluctuate can be used as an example. I.e. Some have fluctuating disabilities caused by symptoms of an illness e.g fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, mental illness. Therefore when someone has good days, weeks or years then they will be considered to be "not disabled" because they are "well enough" to work. However, when conditions fluctuate with "no set pattern" of time between symptoms it's difficult to figure out when you can and can't work. Trying to explain this to the DWP is at times very difficult because they don't want to listen as they want you to explain how often the fluctuations are and assume there is a pattern to the symptoms. The other annoying problem is that they assume that both "the symptoms and disabilities" will miraculously disappear within 2 years! This is how you go from being "disabled" to "not disabled". It's however "they" decide by ignoring "medical evidence" and their "own eyes". As there are those with physical disabilities who have had face to face assessments and the assessors have seen for themselves when someone has had issues with being able to stand, let alone walk and yet they still score zero for the mobility component. It's ridiculous.
@ yes beautifully explained Samantha, I was aware of the difference, I was being a little flippant and angry of these politicians overseeing the living and how the disabled run their own lives… I would just like to add that politicians need people, but people definitely do not need politicians.. If it were possible I would challenge Rachel Reeves or any politician for that matter to swap our lives for 1 week, and I’m 100% certain that she or others would not finish that week without impairment… Im diagnosed as a [Paranoid Schizophrenic] incidentally, although I am very much aware that all disabilities vary.. I thank you for your comment and wish you and all disabled individuals well in the future ❤️
There's two things that a friend brought up that you missed, The tainted blood and The Post Office scandal's The public is footing the bill for those it's not coming out of the governments pockets apparently.
The DWP have changed the dates from last years winter fuel payment eligibility look carefully at the dates, last year my husband and I received £301 we are both receiving pension credit, this statement below shows how the dates have changed from last year You can get a Winter Fuel Payment for winter 2023 to 2024 if you were born before 25 September 1957, not 24 September as the guidance previously said. The £301 Cost of Living Payment for people on tax credits and no other low income benefits will be paid between 2 and 9 May 2023 for most people. This year winter fuel allowance eligibility is for those Born on or before September 22, 1958, not 1957 as was last year and lived in England or Wales during the qualifying week, so my partner was born in December 1958 so we now receive £200 due to the government moving the dates and yet in December this year he can claim his NI Pension of £100 a week as he has not got full national insurance stamps and has had to apply for pension credits!
They simply don’t care, but speaking from my own experience when I was having a bout of bad mental health , I was pushed into work….
Yes 100%.
thankyou stuart this is the only channe; i will ever listen to best wishes brother xj
I'm autistic I do work but a max of 25 hours a week I can't cope with full time work
Thank you Stu.
Happy Halloween! 🎃 👻
Thank you Stu, you are so appreciated
Concise information. Charlie Andersen is good as well
Just found your channel, thank you for your efforts, very helpful!
And we'll see how they try and get around my indefinite fit note.
Thanks Stu 👍 worrying times…
In the last year, the 'cost of living' top up payments (Tory gov) came to apprx £900 extra and made a huge difference. They've not been continued. So facing this winter with a whopping cut to my disabled income.
Do you know if this shower of forked tongues are planning anything similar to tide over until their 'reforms' are in action? I'm a lot more worried about this winter than last one, a lot. It is affecting my mental health and physical health - I've applied for warm home discount and qualified through energy supplier but it's cold in Scotland.
Great video again Stu and helpful, they will find a way to take money off everyone 👍👍
Cheers Stu, appreciated as always mate.
❤
I feel like we're still waiting for the other boot to drop and when it does it's sure as hell not going to be good news. Whoop so benefit's go up by less than 2% next year even though energy costs are up by 10% during winter(conveniently) and food costs are sure as hell going up by more than 5% from what I see when I do my shopping. It's a good thing poorly trained ppl aren't thinking they know our health problems better than our Dr's....oh wait they are 😥
How much savings in your account will the dwp stop your benefits is it 6, 000 thank you Stu for all your help 😊
6000 is the limit for UC, JSA and ESA but higher for housing benefit and council tax support.
DONT WORRY
I have the same letter and date! Try not to worry, I know it’s hard but these things we can’t control only work within the appeals process, if it gets that far. The worst thing you can do is worry about it. Stay strong and mind of peace.
You will be Ok if you are in the support group you still get ESA it just gets taken off the UC you won’t lose money.
@@alexander777-n3s lost £86 a week, lost severe disability premium😢 the transitional protection is only £59 per month and this only lasted 3 months
Hi Stu hope you are on the mend ? I truly Thank You for all your hard work and how you bring so much humour to your video's. Take care.
Hi Stu, great information thank you. Do we know from what date the reduction from 25% to 15% starts please?
I’m really struggling financially as I miss out on the ESA severe disability premium due to my son living with me as he can’t afford to rent anywhere and now I have to pay half my pip to my local authority towards my care I’ve never been so broke can’t afford to eat and heat it’s ridiculous I wish I could work I’m very poorly and very disabled I’m scared to death I was on more money back In 2012 than I am now and I am sicker now go figure??? This is severely effecting my mental health as I can’t afford to leave my home
My heart goes out to you, that is an awful situation to be in. I hope something gives and you are able to get on top of things.
What I read the changes to the work capability assessment will not effect existing people who get LCWRA only if changes reported to universal credit and they will not get reassessments but it will affect new claiments from next year
and anyone who's circumstances change, which will be most people over time
perfect thanks stu
where are all the jobs? That would help.
I voted green they wanted to help and protect us in their manifesto
Great thanks and work stu as always bro 😁😊
Hello Stu might be interesting if you can do a video on reliable sources! Every day seems to be a story about PiP via sites like Birmingham live and on RUclips channels like UK times seems to be very misleading! 😂 Regards John
Hi John, that is a great idea!
How about scrapping HS2 thats where all the money going on rubbish
The Tories scrapped that I think
Cheers stu ur spot on
They talk about 'helping people back to work' but it just ends with them telling you to look for work. Literally no help at all.
Glad to see you better x
Remember when Labour were screaming like a B over Universal Credit.
Last Saturday I got my sodding migration letter, After a few ...... them words. I thought get the bleeding thing out the way it wasn`t tooooooo bad, (Not sure what you do if you cant scan though). Monday I thought "awk Here we go" Email Must attend Appointment 10:08. When did Email arrive HMM?? 10.06 Reply via the journal Mobile rings around 5 minutes later. Its all gone much smoother than I expected I had been ready for a fight and have to squash someone On the hook for Nov's rent though until payment switch
Thank you ! 🧡👍🏻
The money supposedly going to the NHS is also a nonsense IMO…. How many people are aware that the NHS is already 50% PRIVATELY OWNED ? ❤
The 16 hours is what you are allowed to work without your earnings affect your entitlement. Hope this helps!
Latest is they will use your pip assessment points if your not in receipt of pip then your going back to work.
That was the conservative proposal but that is currently under review. It may come to pass or it may be different, we will find out in January 2025
Thanks Stu. To everyone out there; stay strong ❤ reach out if you need support ❤
@ thank you 🙏
Hi stu hope your all well. Does anybody know if UC still ask for 4 months bank statements when your on LCWRA? tia
Thanks for asking this as I’d like to know this too. Do they just ask everyone across the board, even if you’ve been on PIP and ESA support group for decades?
Thier didn't ask me at all
Apparently everyone on uc is getting a review at some point, and yes 4 months statements is the norm.
Very interesting indeed.
I can't leave my house without having a panic attack, I can't be surrounded by large groups of people, use public transport, or go anywhere without having my ear buds in. What job are they going to force me into?
When a person is Diagnosed as disabled, how can a person be deemed UNDISABLED ?
Will people's on benefits receive a text to down load and fill form for winter allowance payment ,last one this year ,
Is it a fake text ,if known ,.
Quite possibly a scam. I've had similar texts. Check the number before clicking the link.
They've just put a tax on jobs raising the NI for employers that's going to cost them thousands, many will be employing less people, not more.
Yes, it hits small charities who support people very hard too.
@@StuartMcGoo and care homes & hospices, anything that actually does care for people
how much they spending on migrant hotels .
Billions
There's two things that a friend brought up that you missed, The tainted blood and The Post Office scandal's The public is footing the bill for those it's not coming out of the governments pockets apparently.
How on earth can you loose £10M???
Hi stu is it true all this changes will only affect new clients
You are kidding yourself. They will target everyone.
yes
The exceptions will be awaiting operations.
If the policies cause more hardship and homelessness,, how does this help Prince William solve homeless crisis,,the future King,
The DWP have changed the dates from last years winter fuel payment eligibility look carefully at the dates, last year my husband and I received £301 we are both receiving pension credit, this statement below shows how the dates have changed from last year You can get a Winter Fuel Payment for winter 2023 to 2024 if you were born before 25 September 1957, not 24 September as the guidance previously said.
But I will be honest it really helped with my mental health, i didn’t expect it would , but I made new friends , joined clubs… which I wouldn’t have done without the push… . I think ‘some’ people with mental health issues , will benefit 💚….I now have stage 4 cancer ! Doh…
@ hi Dean , aw thank you 💚I’m doing ok atm🙏🤞🏼 , all currently stable atm so 🙏💚hopefully stays stable for a bit xx
@ aww thank you 💖🙏💖
It totally discusting. They don't care. Come back conservatives
They are the same, if they come back they will do the same things. These are all policies that the Conservatives were pushing through. "Two cheeks of the same arse" someone said and I think that might be correct.
I keep reading that it's April 2025 things start
thats the new financial year so technically yes
