      We know that Al is not A.fragilis thanks to his skull shape which is of the species A.jimmadseni.

    Allosaurus seriously needs more love, as not only did it pioneer and perfect the skull adaptations for killing giant prey, but it also dominated its entire ecosystem.

      What about Torosaurus in the east and saurophaganax in the West? I'm not do knowledgeable when it comes to the Morrison and the different allosaur species.

      These two were bigger, but Allosaurus was far more common and would dominate by sheer force of numbers.
      Hell, after the sauropods, Allosaurus was the most common dinosaur in the Morrison. You literally find it in every Morrison dig site!

      Bk Jeong | If I had the possibility to turn into the Allosaurus or a T-Rex, I would choose the Allosaurus. 1: I think it sounds better, 2: it has longer arms and 3, I want to see what I would be like to almost not have any binocular vision.

      Allosaurus still has about 20 degrees of overlapping FOV between the two eyes (T. rex has about 50 degrees); if something is in front of you it’s still going to show up in binocular vision.

    3:13-3:17 the tune sounds similar with The Valley of Gwangi main theme. Maybe the composer made a reference to it since Gwangi is an Allosaurus.

    I absolutely adore how when the allosaurus are about to attack the sick diplodocus at 3:31 the music sounds like a more rushed and orchestral version of Time Of The Titans, the theme of the diplodocus that plays in the episode all about said diplodocus.

    When Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was being made, the tyrannosaur Teratophoneus was going to appear in this thing's colors but was later replaced by Allosaurus but unlike how they appeared in Walking with Dinosaurs, it had an original color scheme instead.

    So was it Fragilis who was featured in TOT and Jimmadseni which appeared in BOBA ?

      Yes but Big Al face wasn't so accurately design and he looked more like fragilis a newer species because jimmadseni is the oldest allosaurus species for 5 and more million years it was slightly smaller with thinner skulls from the later fragilis

    Looking back on this series, I miss it. There is nothing like it and probably will be nothing like it in my lifetime. Sure, the cgi has dated, the species are relatively innacurrate as of todays ever-changing standards, and good lord do I need to talk about the T-Rex. But man, I still love it.

      There aren’t many places in this day and age that accurately represent ancient ecosystems, and the ones that do are often remote and difficult to get to. Most documentaries these days just don’t have the budget to film in these places unfortunately.

      American torvo is actually bigger then European, saurophaganax and Allosaurus despite what the fanboy media says.

      Allosaurus is the lion though. Saurophaganax is more like the brown bear. Torvosaurus, Saurophaganax and others were on average larger than the three species of Allosaurus but Allosaurus was much more common and successful.
