Nice editing on this video. This subwoofer journey is a ton of fun. PEQ has been great for the pros and truly getting that full, impactful response.

I love my dual pb-1000 pro's! As of right now, I have them pared with my emotiva airmotiv t2+ tower speakers powered by my Marantz stereo 70s as a 2.2 setup, and it's awesome 👌. Thanks for the video. we love your content, brother.

It was my understanding based on the RUclips vids from various reviewers interviewing the svs rep that the PB16 isn’t going anywhere.. I believe they said the PB17 was an upgrade. I could be wrong.. regardless, I love your channel!! Learned more about subs from you than any other combined source! Thanks! 🎉

      I really appreciate it!
The PB-16 Ultras ARE being discontinued. Sad, yes, but I think they are going to a whole new platform for all of their subs.
The same way PB 16 Ultra tech trickled down, the same thing is going to happen with the rest of their line.
That's pretty exciting in my opinion. The last time they did it, the change was like getting the next better sub. PB 1000 Pro's basically performed like the original PB 2000.
      Good stuff.

    Another great video 👍
Just a question on your recommendation regarding adding 2-4 feet to the subwoofers actual measured distance from the listening position.
After doing the Audysee XT32 calibration on my Denon AVC-X4800H AVR I found it had added 80cm to the real measured distance to my seating position by itself.
    Actual distance is 2.9 metres.
    Audysee XT-32 measurement is 3.7 metres .
Are you recommending adding the extra distance to the Actual measured distance of 2.9 mt or to the Audysee XT32 measure distance of 3.7 mt , I'm confused ?
    Please advise
    Thanks in advance
    GH

No worries, I understand the confusion.
All great subs have Digital Signal Processing. DSP for short.
But not all subwoofers with DSP are great.
Just like all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are square.
Dsp introduces a small delay, and that is why your room correction detects it a little further away than it is measured physically.
This is perfectly normal, and doesn't impact anything in a negative way.
So when I add 2 to 4 ft, and frankly it's just 4 ft now, it's to the post room correction number, not the actual measured distance.
So you would want 4.92 meters, or 16.1 feet, which sounds spot on.
If you haven't already done so, you can adjust how precise the numbers can be.
I haven't done this in meters, but in feet you can change the step from 1 foot, or set it to 0.1 foot, which gives more precise control.
I definitely understand the confusion, but it's always the room correction distance (not physical distance) and add 4 feet, or 1.2 meters to that.
      I appreciate your question!

Im looking to purchase dual pb4000 within the next 2 months .
But im also hearing that because of the discontinuation of 16 ultras ,there will be very good deals on the 16s.
If that's the case and i can get dual pb 16s that's close to the price of dual pb 4000s, then im just gonna go that route. Even though i absolutely do not need the 16s. 😂

It reminds me of what A1 Evo does. I don't know if you've tried it but it's worth giving it a shot.

In your dual tower of subs in your livingroom picture, the bottom pair are mine, how'd you get them? lol They're great little subs, but if I ever get to upgrade them a third time (second time was from dual PB-2000's, first was from some cheap 8 inch Paradigm that was my grandfathers), I'll be ugrading to JTR's. I really want to some day ugrade my full SVS system to a full JTR. One can only dream. lol I forgot to say, that even though I'd love to go JTR, if someone wanted to give me a pair of those PB17 Ultra's when they're out, I wouldn't be saying no, that is for damn sure.

Room size ideal for dual pb 2000 pro in feet bro?

    • @Subwoofer101
      @Subwoofer101  2 месяца назад +2

I don't take room size into consideration for the ported deep bass subwoofers I recommend.
Not unless the room is over 1,000 square feet, then maybe you're dealing with needing more output. I haven't had that problem yet.
I've put to rest the myth that room size restricts subwoofer size, I've put dual PB-16 Ultras in a 10x10 room, 100 sqft. Same benefits as with a big room, more explosive.
Between the largest living room and the smallest rooms, I didn't even vary the gain on the subs by more than 1 dB.
It's really just a matter of relativity. If you don't need to turn up the AVR volume as high, or it needs to go higher because the room is large, your subwoofers are tied to that main volume control.
People worry about room size for no reason. Sealed subwoofers are far more sensitive to room size, but mainly with the amount of room gain. Big or small, the smaller the room, more room gain you get with sealed. Ported subwoofers don't vary much at all.
The thing with small rooms are small room problems, like boundary gain, but that's going to be an issue with any decent sub.
Dealt with properly, with good room correction, and it doesn't matter if you're running PB-16 Ultras, or PB-1000 Pro's.
Been there, done it, and honestly I prefer a smaller room.

Absolutely. Easily, with plenty of output leftover.
I would also cover the concrete with some thick fabrics to reduce echo.

I couldn't figure out why my music had little bass. Turns out audyssey set my mains to 30 hz. As soon as I changed that it was like a new system.

Right? You have better than a typical bookshelf, probably a good tower, and room correction choked off your bass.
