    You can also hook the multiplus up as a standalone inverter as well. You dont have to connect the shore power wires but instead can just connect it to the batteries and use it as a pure inverter. This might be helpful to a few that dont want or need the extra features and additional wiring and breakers etc...but may think that they might in the future. Might be helpful to a few sailors who live on the hook 24/7 that may end up in a marina long term in the future and are thinking the Phoenix inverter might be better. I think because of this the multiplus is clearly the better choice.

    Great video. I would love to see a review of the EasySolar 2 GX as im looking at that for my 48v van system, its got everything, Multiplus2, MPPT & CerboGX all in one so thats the no brainer for me.

    Nice presentation of the Multiplus thanks, 🙏 however, it would be interesting to know if the assist mode can also work in reverse and by that I mean using the grid to augment the amperage only when the inverter is somehow insufficient.

    I use the multiples II like on your board. What I have been doing for months is run the inverter only with AES (I think it is) and all is well, using 400-600 watts of panels (strange configuration) /// that said, when fall winter comes I will be using the mix of shore and battery. If I have shore going all the time (now) the batteries would constantly be near full or at full ... when I want it to only charge if batteries get too low .. charge up and go back to invert only .. (concept) until batteries are low again .. I don't know how to set the windows programing yet to accomplish this.. last winter when first installed, I'd change it by hand ... If the batteries have 3-4K full cycles, I want to use them ... if only slight drains each day then age will get them anyway ... I also need to figure how to have it top balance maybe once a week, rather than daily ... because of having lots of solar sunlight. ........ all in good time. Thanks for your neat videos... pb

    the phoenix inverters have ECO mode. Im not seeing that on the multiplus units. So for an offgrid setup, it appears the seperate charge controller and inverter offer better flexibility & economy

    I was really hoping the passthrough functionality for the Multiplus was almost the reverse. It would be wonderful if the unit could be configured to primarily prioritize for solar panel energy on sunny days when available, then, in the evening hours pull from the battery source until it has been depleted to a preset point, and then finally sometime in the mid-evening, when the battery energy is gone, start pulling from mains power. That would had been sweet. I'd pay extra money for such a capability. It seems like what was outlined above should be possible, but I guess not.

      That is possible now with the multiplus. Check out Victron’s solar and wind priority settings.

    Would this work as an automatic changeover if shore power tripped out or just to assist using the 12v battery if the current was too high?

    • @551moley
      @551moley 2 месяца назад +1

      Yes if you lose mains power the multi will revert to battery power automatically, you can also set charge levels (battery %) to swap between the two.

    Over the life of the Victron low frequency, transformer based inverter, you would have to buy 3 or 4 Chinese made, high frequency, transformerless inverters. So of course it's worth the extra money.

    Respectfully, I have some constructive feedback. This video could have been shorter and more concise. A visual chart would have helped mail down the comparison points as a build up to the conclusion which took less than a minute to explain

    Why would anyone have a 12v system today?

  • @897aa33
    @897aa33 10 месяцев назад +1

    Both this 12v multiplus waste of money. I got a 3500-watt German inverter of eBay back to 2019 with remote control on and off for 300 euros works no probs at all. Perhaps 48v multiplus fir the house etc might work better.

      So is excess food to stuff our guts but we still waste money to get fat. How about you spend your hard earned money on what you feel is important and everyone else can do the same.

    • @897aa33
      @897aa33 10 месяцев назад

      @@rv10flyer84 I think knowledge and experience is what matter. So you can compare and make a choice. But for 2000watt 12v inverter paying over 1k money is insane in my opinion.

      How about going out to the garage or shop and build something with your hands. If you fall asleep building a battery, the fireball and molten metal will surely wake you up.
