Building the Audio Note AX Two Speakers

- DIY speakers based on the vintage AX Two produced in Denmark decades ago. New tweeters, used woofer with external crossover, silver cable for all wiring, Mundorf aluminium oil capacitors, Jantzen inductors and MOX resistors. Point to point soldering.
Crystal clear, dynamic and extended sound. Tweeter and woofer extremely coherent (thanks to well designed and simple crossover). Balanced and Musical - I could listen to it for hours without feeling fatigue. Better bass depth than a lot of bookshelf speakers.
One of my most satisfying DIY projects so far!
Excellent! 👍
Great crossover improvement, but the overhang of the cabinet around the baffle will cause diffraction issues also the bass/mid driver could have been rebated flush. Nit picking, but you went to such lengths to optimise the design.....
Thank you for your input. This DIY is based on the original Audio Note AX Two produced in Denmark (early days when AN started selling speakers). Baffle position of the latest AN speakers is different.
😮tge inductor positioning is suboptimal. 1flat and the other should stand upwright
Thanks for pointing out.
they are far apart
@@edwardcaseno .not enough distance. And where is the Problem
2:37 do Think it possibel to make diy crossover for Audio Note AN/E ??
By the Way thanks fore youre video
Glenn from Denmark 😊
Absolutely yes. The trick here is to find the drivers. ANK sells them but are rather expensive. It seems they are produced by Scan Speak but I have yet to find the model number.
If you give me your email address, I can send you the schematics of the crossover and the dimensions of the speaker for AN-E. It's on my to do list.
Do they sound
Yes, and they actually sound slightly better than the original one.
@@thomasdiyaudio5353 The Mundorf caps will make a big difference.
Yes, they do.@@ChicagoRob2
MIssion 700?
Don't understand what you are asking.
Way overpriced. I expect more than veneered MDF for that sort of money.
