First Generation Lampizator? (Liberty)
Overall circuitry is based on Lukasz Fikus (founder of Lampizator) published during his DIY era before he started selling tube DAC at prices of a luxury car.
Two 5670 tubes in SRPP configuration, Miflex KPCU oil capacitors as output coupling, CS8414 receiver chip for coaxial and optical input, QCC5125 USB interface, TDA1387 x 8 DAC.
Mesmerizing. Outstanding vocal. Musical. This DAC reproduces low volume harmonics originated in music source which are missing in many other DACs. Wide and deep sound stage. You can listen to it for hours without feeling fatigue.

Fun and cute. Russian subminiature tube 6N16B as output stage in MoOde 9.0.6 Raspberry Pi 4B music streamer. 3D sound stage is very good. Sonic signature is warm yet transparent and natural. Compared to the two tube output stages I have built, this 6N16B is faster than the Lampizator 5670 and more musical than the Audio Note 6DJ8 tube output. Highly recommended to any DIYer.

      Tube output really takes the 1387 DAC to a different level. Also the output capacitor and the IV resistor are critical in sound quality.

    • @thomasdiyaudio5353
      @thomasdiyaudio5353 2 месяца назад

      I used standard single side prototype board for point to point soldering. The circuit is very simple hence I didn't bother getting printed circuit board. The most important component is the output capacitor which pretty much decides the sound quality. I use GAD and if you can invest more, go for Mundorf Aluminium Oil or Miflex. I buy all my components on Taobao from mainland China. If you live outside of Asia, you get buy them from Aliexpress. For north America, partsconnexion.com sells high quality capacitors at very reasonable prices. Some are actually cheaper than Taobao. After you finish building this basic one, I highly recommend you to add tube output stage. I have a few videos on this. Tube output takes the DAC to a different level. Personally, I prefer the Lampizator output to the Audio Note one. Have fun!

      Each of the preamp I have built (tube and solid state) is very good with its own sound signature. If you have to ask me, my personal preference of solid state is the Goldmund 27. It pairs well with solid state power amp and probably best with Goldmund (I do plan to build one when I got a chance). I am using the Goldmund 27 to drive my vintage 40 years old Leach power amp as my TV/video sound system which I use almost every day. If you want just vocal and simple classical music, then I would high recommend Audio Note all the way. Preamp, power amp and speaker. I have videos of these. Absolutely stunning. Gotham coaxial cable from CD transport to DAC. The white turntable is Project Debut Carbon Esprit. The B&W speaker is floorstanding and of course much better than Chartwell which is a bookshelf.

    I was seriously considering this DAC about 2 weeks ago. I ended up ordering the Opoint DA50 unit it was around same cost but had Balanced XLR plugs which I was wanting. I’ve been happy but wondered how these 2 products would compare. Any idea if the chip is real or a clone?

      DA50 looks pretty much the same as the SU10 but with balance output. No idea if the chip is real or a clone while the sound quality is very good. At this price I have no complaint. Did you use linear power supply or just ordinary power adaptor?
