Small Hemp and Flax Spinning Wheel

This is a small Hemp and Flax Spinning Wheel. The words written on the wheel say:
Hanf und flachs gebleicht auf grüner au, das ist der stolz der Bauersfrau.
Translated to English:
Hemp and flax bleached on green meadow, that is the pride of the farmer's wife.
I wanted to show this wheel working. It is small and easily stored in a corner or out in the open in the living room as decoration but also a fully functional wheel when you need to spin more linen or wool. It is fully functional as a wool spinning wheel as well as cotton. Cotton is not as easy to spin on this because it does not have a super fast whorl on the bobbin for this so you need to treadle faster to get more twist into your fiber. I’d say it’s best for Hemp, Flax or Wool. I don’t recommend using anything other than natural fibers. Anyway I hope you like the little wheel I’m showing today.
