I said I would go first and leave a comment about my favorite yarn to spin and my favorite wheel to spin it on, but I can decide! It's like trying to choose my favorite child! 😜
Haven't mastered any of mine, yet but I think it'll be a tie between my flax wheel and my walking wheel. 😁 My favorite to spin? My Navajo Churro wool. 😊 ps, watching this via someone else's channel, I'll be looking forward to seeing more videos soon! 😊 🤗 Eye of the Beholder
Ok, I just found this channel today and I am going to say that it is by far the BEST instructional channel for spinning I have come across. I have only been spinning for a year and a half and already want to go fast on a double drive wheel. This makes the new “to me” drive system COMPLETELY understandable. Thank you for taking the time to teach. You are so easy to listen to and you know just what you are talking about. Much appreciation!!
Thank you. When people are enthusiastic it tends to reduce clarity of explanation. You have managed to retain both enthusiasm and clarity and the result is very helpful. Best wishes from the UK!
Someone just gave me an old double drive as I was looking for a spinning wheel to start spinning for the very first time. Your video is gold! Thank you so much for making it !❤
I just bought an antique double drive (flax wheel) at a thrift store today, so this is very helpful! Prior to this I have only used a drop spindle. My favorite yarns to spin are goat and llama fibers. I get it for free at work (I work at a zoo), and I love getting to spin fiber from animals I know personally!
This is the best explanation I’ve seen on a double drive system. Thank you so much! I have a double drive Ashford Traveler and really didn’t “get it” till I saw your video.
Thank you , thank you, thank you! Between this video, and your video on SWSO, I have managed to get my spinning wheel functioning! All the parts were there, someone had just painted over them, so everything that should move, was stuck together, and if it shouldn't move, it was loose and flying around! Between your two videos I have everything working great now! Just finished adjusting the tension so that the bobbin takes up the fiber neatly. It is a castle wheel, double drive, so a little different, but your videos have helped turn it from a (nicely painted) decoration into a functioning wheel! (BTW I got it for $20 or else it was going to become kindling for a fire! A couple hours of labor and it works like a charm!)
THANK YOU. I have had my wheel for 6 months and this is the first time i have managed to set up double drive. very grateful. i like spinning . its addictive and soothing.
Your tutorials are excellent. I am looking into buying an antique spinning wheel, I believe it is a Cadorette CPW. Since I have never used a spinning wheel before, I needed to understand what is in front of me when I get there. Most of the wheels on the market are either decorative or genuine but have been purchased as a decorative antique, or came from a grandma's attic. This means that the person selling it will not be knowledgeable about spinning. This tutorial and the others you have on ratios, buying an antique and CPWs are very helpful. I am watching them over and over so that I will be able to buy a good wheel - or pass on the dust collector. Thank you so much Evie. ❤
Just came home with the P. Cadorette wheel today. It is gorgeous, and even though it has not been used for spinning for a very long time, it is in great condition and it is very eager to get back to work. Beside adding oil to the friction points and putting in a new drive band, it works like a charm. For the drive band, I used a cotton/linen blend yarn from Yarn Bee; it is very strong. The instructions in this video were helpful, and I did the following to easily thread the drive band alone: a) I used a piece of rope to tie one of the spokes to prevent the wheel from turning b) I tied the first end of the drive band to one of the maiden, and which allowed me to keep enough tension on the band to help it stay in its grooves c) I ran my fingers over each groove as I threaded the band to ensure it is correctly placed. After a few tries, I nailed it. The part that I struggled most with, is that I could not get the practice yarn to wind on the bobbin after spinning it. Adjusting the tension did not seem to help, then by chance, I managed to get it t to wind once. That's when I knew the problem was me. It took many fails to finally figure out that this wheel wants me to slow down slightly when the treadle is at its highest point, and only then will it take up the yarn. So excited to be so close to spinning my very first yarn on my very first wheel! Thank you so much Evie for your helpful videos❤
I’m so grateful for this video! I’ve been so confused why I was not having any success and just found my drive band was installed incorrectly. Your videos are so clear and helpful!
I'm getting an old double drive castle wheel (a "husband wheel" made by the grandfather of a former acquaintance) ready to be gifted to a new spinner. I learned a lot which I can pass on to her, thank you!
At the risk of repeating what others have said, you are a gifted teacher. I just found your channel, have subscribed . I have searched everywhere for this information explained so clearly. Thank you so very much, Jane
Thank you for helping us figure out what was wrong with the double drive wheel I had rescued. Yours was the first super clear explanation of what to look for that I found.
I want to make sure I leave a comment because I watch your videos from my ROKU tv and it doesn't give me the option to comment so while I'm on my phone... THANK YOU! This was the most helpful video about the double drive I have found. The tension instructions was the best I have seen! I have watched many of your videos and have learned something from each and every one of them. You are a wonderful teacher and I'm so glad I found you!
Thank you! Generally someone who knows about spinning wheels doesn't know much about youtube. But alas! Here you are! Melding the two!!!! Thank you, this is what I've been searching for. I'll be purusing your other videos for sure.
I am a spinning virgin based in the UK and acquired a double drive just before lockdown (I didn’t even know it was a double drive). Your explanation here is invaluable I have watched it twice, you are a natural presenter. Spinning is like learning to drive - several skills to synchronise and I’m now on that journey. My second skein of just 2-plied wool (Jacob) is actually useable - but will be kept for posterity. Am now drying some fleece after scouring which is from a friends ram - my next adventure - yes I’ve watched your fleece videos too. Subscribed & fully engaged - go girl!!! ps- i’m not Roy Burch (that’s my dad) not sure how his name appeared here, I’m Wendy !
Thank you Wendy! I'm so glad my video helped you to get started! I absolutely agree you should keep that first skein for posterity. Someday, you will take it out to see how far you have come! Happy spinning!
I am so grateful to have found a REAL SPINNING location, not a place that just shows you what their yarn looks like. I’ve had my Schacht Matchless for a long time but never spent too much time spinning. I consider myself a beginner and tend to over spin or under spin. But recently figured out that my wheel is more sensitive than I thought and am trying to figure out correct tension without having to fight my wheel. I continue to remind myself that I can’t really hurt the fiber or anything just learn from what I do. Thanks for all your sharing and expertise
You explained the ingenious and ancient subtleties of the double drive wheel beautifully. Imagine a modern spinning machine with variable speed bobbin and flyer servo motors and an optical system to watch the fibers twisting. It would need software, a computer, and months of programming. The old spinning wheel and a skilled operator however, produced consistent, even yarn hundreds of years ago. Today I inherited an old double drive spinning wheel which was made in Saskatchewan. It needs work and the whorl turns oposite from normal because it sits on right hand threads, but it's going to be a great wheel.
My husband suprized me today with a lovely castle style spinning wheel. I've always wanted one. Your videos were recommended to me and I'm so glad I've found you. Your tutorials are so informative and easy to follow, I can't wait to start spinning.
Wow!!! Where was this video when I first started 9 years ago?!? Thank you so much! I’m going to be starting all over with learning to spin. So excited I won’t have hands cramping up again...
Hi. I was gifted a double drive spinning wheel from an op shop for Christmas. I’ve been searching for a video to show me how to set it up and yours is perfect as it explains EVERYTHING. I was having to go across multiple videos to gather all the information I required. Yours sums it all up in one. Thank you so much.
You are such a good teacher! I have to prepare a demonstration and the spinning wheel doesn’t have the band… I feel ready to make it work with all your explanations. I really love the way you go into the science of it. It makes me fully understand… and your smile, love it! Merci!
Your videos are the only ones that I watch now (after many years of watching you tubes on spinning). Your presentation and clear instruction without “waffling on” attracts me to your videos. I learn so much! Thank you!! From Australia
I was gifted an old flax wheel 8 years ago. My friend showed me how to use it, but the 4 hour drive back home to Maine seemed to shift things and I couldn't get it going right. I've tried off anyone over the years but couldn't get it and nobody here knows double drive wheels. I just stumbled on your channel today because I REALLY want to learn to spin (even with a drop spindle). I have hope again for mylovely old flaxwheel. I definitely hit the subscribe. THANK YOU!!
I recently got a Schact Matchless and have been learning to use it. I emailed a teacher to show her what i had been producing and she suggested changing my ratio and increasing the speed of my bobbin. my immediate thought was that i knew what all of that meant because you had explained all of those things to me and more. Thank you for your tutorial videos. As i continue learning, I imagine i'll be spending a lot of time watching them :)
A CPW just came home with me. After cleaning her up, I tried spinning with her and am having difficulty with her uptake. Thank you for your video. I know with time, we will become best friends. It's time to go make adjustments on the driveband. ~ Karen
Woman, you are amazing. I have learned the majority of my spinning wheel knowledge from you. You present with such clarity, I am indebted to you. Today I will check out a double drive wheel (I have only spun on Scotch tension), and I needed this information to evaluate the wheel properly. (Wish me luck today.). Thank you for being my personal tutor. ❤️
I did not purchase that particular wheel (a very pretty Paradis) because of probable dampness exposure. BUT…. because of your wonderful tutorials, and some luck, I am now owner of several wheels that I will lovingly restore to their full beauty and functionality. (The wheels make my heart leap with their beauty.) This is my current double drive question: I purchased a like-new Country Craftsman and set up the cotton cord per your instructions. The cord touches where it crosses! (Remember, this was my very first double-drive set-up, as I have only spun Scotch tension.). I thought I was doing something wrong, so I did a cord set-up on my CPW (newly purchased; not yet fully ready), and that worked out perfectly, not touching. Could this be a flaw in the design of the CC? There is not a lot of info on CC’s, although there is a group on Ravelry, which is not very active. Do you have any information? Thanks, Guru.
This is so helpful - thank you! I just bought a double drive Elizabeth wheel - I have only used scotch tension up to now, and double drive was a mystery, which you have totally uncovered! Great video!
This is the double drive tutorial that needed to be out into the universe. Because it is a bit if a different animal, it often gets left out. Thank you so much!!
Just what I needed. I brought home a Matchless that was already set up in double drive. I’m an experienced spinner but new to DD. Was feeling a bit defeated by this very different method. I learned pretty much everything I needed to know to get spinning and making nice yarn. I found it tricky to finesse the take up when doing long draw. It seems like keeping a bit of tension on the yarn during take up keeps the yarn from developing pigtails. Thanks for posting this. 😍🥰❤️
I have inherited a Haldane Lewis mk2 with (what I know know is) a double drive set up and no clue as to how to put it together. This was very helpful! Thanks!
Your are a great teacher…. I just took my first spinning class yesterday, and my teacher recommended your tutorials. I’m definitely subscribing. Thank you and be well!
this is such a great explanation of an incredibly sophisticated crafting tool, thank you. im going to pick up an antique double drive next week and your videos really helped me get an idea what to check for and how it all works, even 3 years after posting it :)
I just discovered this channel after it was mentioned on a different channel and I’m so glad I found it because earlier this year I was gifted an antique flax wheel and I’m so excited to learn about it!
The visual with the stickers was super helpful. Just started this week with a castle style double drive wheel. After years of watching RUclips- you are my first channel subscription. Thanks for explaining in a way that is understandable.
This is the most amazing explanation of how and why the wheels work that I have ever seen. I would gladly have paid 100$ for someone to teach me this. I have a scientifically driven mind and if I can’t quite understand why something works the way it does then I can’t proceed working with it. You have completely taught me how this works. Words read in a book just don’t teach me but the stickers were genius and the gentle way you speak were exactly what I needed ! Thank you for your generosity!
At last! I have been searching for a clear and concise tutorial. I am a novice and now the proud owner of an Austin Bochman wheel. Thank you. I need to know about the hooks and other things... I will check out your other tutorials.
I've been spinning about 5/6 years. I've taken in person spinning classes, and watched hours and hours of videos and hands down yours is the best. You've explained the "why's" whereas a lot of teachers focus on the mechanics. Thanks so much!
This is the best video I have seen on tension and how the yarn winds on. I use a Schacht Matchless in DD for singles and a Ladybug in scotch tension for plying.
Thank you for such an excellent tutorial on double drive wheels. I’ve always spun on Scotch tension wheels so was so confused as to how a double drive wheel winds the spun yarn onto the bobbin. You answered all my questions and made the lightbulb turn on!!!!!! THANK YOU!
This is such a God send. I have been really confused at times. Especially on the bobbin assembly, whorls, and mother of all. I keep watching it all agog. (All giggles and stomping feet.) I have only been looking for some answers all year.
AH! I'm only halfway through this video and it has been so helpful. My husband bought a spinning wheel for me, because we have Pygora goats and now we need to do something with all the hair! I don't know anything about spinning wheels, and I just love that you're giving a spinning wheel anatomy and physiology lesson! (And yes, my spinning wheel is a double drive). Weirdly, my parents also bought me a spinning wheel that I have to assemble, which I think is single drive, so I'll have to watch that tutorial some day too!
So glad both these drive videos are here, I saw the single drive video first and started to panic that my family heirloom spinning wheel was missing a part! But no, she's a double drive, phew! Now back to the "learning your own spinning wheel" video which i found first and led me to your channel :)
Just inherited(saved from the dumpster) an antique double drive wheel that originally belonged to my husband's great great grandmother and was just nearing frustrated that none of the tutorials I could find actually explained how to set up the drive band and how to change the bobbins. This one had to be reverse-unscrewed, and I've been too scared to use force to get it apart, so it was a relief when it just. Unscrewed easily when turned the right way, as you showed. So thank you! ❤️
Thank you so much!!! I was desperately trying to get the whorl off to change the bobbin, and it just wouldn't budge - I never would have thought to unscrew it the "wrong" way if I hadn't watched this!!
I've had a Columbine wheel sitting in a corner since I fell on it (tripped over the dog) and warped the frame. I decided I want to fix it and use it again...and since the original drive band is gone (who knows where, not me) I couldn't remember how to put a new band on it. Your very clear explanation of how a double-drive system is set up and works has given me the drive (pun intended) to make a new band and hope against hope I can get my Columbine back in use. (By the way, I learned to spin on a Turkish drop spindle from Louise Green of Greentree Ranch in 1973. I bought my first Columbine wheel in 1974, but in a period of prolonged insanity, sold it. The wheel I'm trying to fix was purchased in 2006 when I turned 59 1/2 and could pull off of my IRA without penalty. I've been using my spindle and an Ashford Kiwi for the last few years...I'm almost 76 and am determined to fix my Columbine!!)
Fantastic video, thank you. Gives me all the information I need. My son gave me an old hand-made double drive spinning wheel which he had renovated for me, for Christmas. It is over 50 years old. Wow, I was speechless! I am a knitter and spun on a single drive when I was in my teens over 40 years ago. I have now altered the wheel thanks to your instruction and it is working as it should. I am now inspired and motivated. You know what I'll be doing for the rest of the day!!
Super helpful. Really appreciate the warnings about tight and loose tensions. You've set this beginner up for a good intro to her first spinning wheel!
thank you so much for the video. i have just bought a new to me double drive dryad wheel and had no idea how to tension it, watched your video and had a play with it, works a dream.
Hi Evie I have 4 wheels but my favourite is a Haldane Lewis mark11 with double drive band. He was my first wheel over 30 years ago. He is a Grumpy old so and so but when he gets going he is superb. May I congratulate you on your clear and practical advice. I have picked up a lot of hints tips and information from watching your videos. We have a wool festival held here in Wales called Wonder Wool. And I will definitely be thinking Of you and your snippets of advice when I go in April. After the lockdown of the pandemic it will be lovely to catch up with old friends and make new ones. Since moving to West Wales just before lockdown I have as one does made the acquaintance of sheep farmers and in exchange for some rare breed fleeces I have knitted jumpers hats and gloves for them. So as you said in a previous video I need to get my skirting table out of hibernation ready for the summer wool fest I am so looking forward to the many projects you have guided me towards. So from West Wale Diolch Yn Fawr. Thank You Very Much. Mary Ananicz
Thank youso much for explaining the double drive. I am absolutely new to spinning and bought a double drive. The drive band fell off and at first I didn't realize it was one band! Now I need to check if I got it back on correctly.
I just got my first spinning wheel! A Country Craftsman double drive wheel. I've hardly touched a spinning wheel before this, so I have a lot to learn and get used to.
You just saved my mind. Aaaaaah. Thank you. I have an Ashford Traditional and I was trying to apply single drive to it. Ha. Thank you for this video, you are a lifesaver.
Fun story, I was shopping a thrift store, and I found a complete spinning wheel (less the band). This video was quite helpful in reminding me how to route the power band. Thank You 😊 Subscribed
I've been spinning on my Ashford Traditional since 1968. I'm ordering a Kromski Traveler and have never seen, let alone use, a double drive wheel. Your video is sooo informational, I love it! You have a new subscriber.
I played around with my wheel last night and had issues with the tension. I am going to clean the wheel up today and play with the tension more. Thank you for another great video!
Thank you very much for your useful and detailed explanations! Now I'm not any more despaired with my electric spinning machine because I could assemble it in the right way and get it running - at least! It's - after a while of searching - the first video that helps me to understand the way of functioning of my spinner although I searched in German and Russian with no results fitting my problem! 😊
Hello Evie, thank you so much for this video. I am at the beginning of spinning really and have begun a course which is fantastic for learning and developing skills. I am not good at understanding the workings of machines, never have been, even these very beautiful wheels, it takes a lot of going over and over for it to make sense and to begin to understand, but I am doing that, little by little. I just bought an old wheel in an antique shop near where I live, and am cleaning and trying to work out what it is. I also have a Traveller wheel that I love. My course asks to describe the workings of the single and double drive wheels and I try to overcome mental blocks and to gradually get to grips with properly seeing and understanding how they work, and I will watch and listen to your videos over and over, looking at both of my lovely wheels. Thank you so much for sharing and showing and teaching so generously.....
I learned a lot about my spinning wheel in this video. It doesn’t have any markings on it so it is difficult to do any research about it. I got my wheel from a friend who was cleaning out her garage and she happened to be looking for a new home for her wheel around the same time that I was getting into spinning.
This video was JUST what I needed! I found a used spinning wheel and it turns out it's a double drive! Everything in this video is helping me get it set up and start spinning. My first ever spinning wheel! Thank you!
Thanks so much for this explanation of double drive. I wish I had known this when I bought my double drive wheel though I found spinning on it wonderful. I have just, reluctantly, sold my beautiful Elizabeth 2 spinning wheel! My home is tiny and, as I am disabled, I found it difficult to keep bringing it out from where I had to store it when not in use. I loved that wheel and loved spinning double drive but the poor wheel was just not getting used. The new owner is thrilled with it, understandably! I spin on my Majacraft Rose which does not take up as much room and can keep it out and on my tiny EEW Nano 2 when I am unable to treadle.
Brilliant! Thank you for your crystal clear explanations. I just acquired a CPW and this is my first time spinning on a double drive wheel. This video is so helpful!
Fabulous video!! I love how you explain in a simple and detailed manner. Thank you for an enjoyable and educational explanation of the double drive system! I'll be sharing this video with my spinning friends.
Omg Evie, listening to you just demonstrates how much there is to know about spinning. There is always something new to learn. Thank you for your knowledge.
Wow. Great!!! Instructions having just tried to understand and use a friends victorian wheel. As an engineer I'm impressed with the em. Engineering! Thanks.
Thank you for this! I just got an old double drive spinning wheel that I'm repairing and learning about. I've always used single drive wheels until now.
I have just bought an old spinning wheel and didn’t understand how to get the yarn get unto the bobbin. I was quite frustrated because I didn’t understand who the whole ting worked. Now I know. THANKS A LOT !
I recently found a beautiful kromski mazurka on offerup. I abandoned double drive almost immediately and converted it to the single drive. This is what I needed! And as a new spinner understanding the details of tensioning this type of wheel is so incredibly helpful!
My favorite to spin? My Navajo Churro wool. 😊 ps, watching this via someone else's channel, I'll be looking forward to seeing more videos soon! 😊

I'm so glad I could help! 😊 What an awesome gift! Happy spinning! 💕
Ditto! Thank you SO MUCH!!!!
You are a very good teacher! This video is super helpful- THANK YOU!
Good luck! I'm reading this 2 days later. I hope it all worked out for you!
I did not purchase that particular wheel (a very pretty Paradis) because of probable dampness exposure. BUT…. because of your wonderful tutorials, and some luck, I am now owner of several wheels that I will lovingly restore to their full beauty and functionality. (The wheels make my heart leap with their beauty.)
This is my current double drive question: I purchased a like-new Country Craftsman and set up the cotton cord per your instructions.
@@rashby8858 yes, check out my video about tying the driveband on. There are closeups of "the cross" that will help. Happy spinning! 🧶💜😊
Thank you Mrs, Jillian you shown me how little I know about spinning. But I am getting a spinning wheel and give myself time to learn thank you again.
Thank you so much for your videos! After watching a few today, I was able to get the antique wheel I snapped up for $50.00 up and running again!
I was today gifted a vintage wheel....I'm very pleased to have found your channel as your explanation is very very good.
Wonderful! Happy spinning! 😊
This is so helpful - thank you! I just bought a double drive Elizabeth wheel - I have only used scotch tension up to now, and double drive was a mystery, which you have totally uncovered! Great video!
Thank you for explaining how it works and how to make it work. I just switched my Minstrel over to double drive
This is the double drive tutorial that needed to be out into the universe. Because it is a bit if a different animal, it often gets left out. Thank you so much!!
It is a bit of a different animal! Lol! But I love double drive so much. I loved it even more when I understood it. 😉
Thank you so much. I'm helping a friend who has an antique double drive wheel - I've only ever used a single drive before!
Happy spinning! 🧶😊💜
Your explanations are a-maz-ing!!! Stickers were genius. I can’t believe I understand how this works now - thank you so much!!!
this is such a great explanation of an incredibly sophisticated crafting tool, thank you. im going to pick up an antique double drive next week and your videos really helped me get an idea what to check for and how it all works, even 3 years after posting it :)
I just discovered this channel after it was mentioned on a different channel and I’m so glad I found it because earlier this year I was gifted an antique flax wheel and I’m so excited to learn about it!
Welcome! You will love the video coming out tomorrow. It's a deep dive on 18th century American flax wheels! Happy spinning. 😊🧶💜
Thanks Jillian. A friend needs help with this so I'll be sharing. Your an excellent teacher.
The visual with the stickers was super helpful. Just started this week with a castle style double drive wheel. After years of watching RUclips- you are my first channel subscription. Thanks for explaining in a way that is understandable.
Thank you so much I am learning so much from your videos xx👏😘
This is the most amazing explanation of how and why the wheels work that I have ever seen. I would gladly have paid 100$ for someone to teach me this. I have a scientifically driven mind and if I can’t quite understand why something works the way it does then I can’t proceed working with it. You have completely taught me how this works. Words read in a book just don’t teach me but the stickers were genius and the gentle way you speak were exactly what I needed ! Thank you for your generosity!
I'm happy to help! 💖🧶
At last! I have been searching for a clear and concise tutorial. I am a novice and now the proud owner of an Austin Bochman wheel. Thank you. I need to know about the hooks and other things... I will check out your other tutorials.
Glad it was helpful! Happy spinning! 🧶🐑💜
Two of my dream wheels right there! I also like to use Scotch tension for plying. 😊 Happy spinning!
Excellent teaching! NOW I`m really able to practise on my grandmothers whel! Thanx soooo much! :D
This video is super clear and helpful. I totally get my double drive wheel now. Thank you!
Thankyou! I just got a vintage wheel with limited information, so great to find this and now I know it's the tension, not me! Thankyou
This is the best description of how a wheel works I have ever heard. Thank you for posting!
You are welcome! 🥰
You can do it! 💜🧶😊
He was my
first wheel over 30 years ago. He is a Grumpy old so and so but when he gets going he is superb.
May I congratulate you on your clear and practical advice. I have picked up a lot of hints tips and information
from watching your videos.
We have a wool festival held here in Wales called Wonder Wool. And I will definitely be thinking
Of you and your snippets of advice when I go in April. After the lockdown of the pandemic it will
be lovely to catch up with old friends and make new ones. Since moving to West Wales just before lockdown
I have as one does made the acquaintance of sheep farmers and in exchange for some rare breed fleeces I have
knitted jumpers hats and gloves for them. So as you said in a previous video I need to get my skirting table out of
hibernation ready for the summer wool fest I am so looking forward to the many projects you have guided me towards.
So from West Wale Diolch Yn Fawr.
Thank You Very Much.

Thank youso much for explaining the double drive. I am absolutely new to spinning and bought a double drive. The drive band fell off and at first I didn't realize it was one band! Now I need to check if I got it back on correctly.
Thank you! I haven't sat down with my wheel for 20 years. This was so helpful and encouraging! 💥
Evie, I'm going to get an espinner. Thankyou for your help, and your shows are wonderful., Cheryl
I just got my first spinning wheel! A Country Craftsman double drive wheel. I've hardly touched a spinning wheel before this, so I have a lot to learn and get used to.
Sort of mind blowing in all the subtilies. ! Clearly I need to learn in a hand-on class ♡♡♡
You just saved my mind. Aaaaaah. Thank you. I have an Ashford Traditional and I was trying to apply single drive to it. Ha. Thank you for this video, you are a lifesaver.
i'm just getting back into spinning during lockdown in NZ Very helpful about double drive wheel
Thank you, I'm glad I could help! Happy spinning!!! 💜
I just purchased an antique double drive wheel. Thank you for the clear explanation
You are so welcome! Happy spinning!
Thank you!
Your insights are great, as I just got a small traveler castle wheel, to card and rejuvinate beloved heirloom fibres -- now with happy courage!
Thank you so much!! I was getting so frustrated trying to understand my new wheel, this made things so much clearer
You're very welcome! Happy spinning!
I learned so much from this video. Thanks Evie. You're the best !
Thank you Sharon! I feel the same way. So much to learn!
Wow. Great!!! Instructions having just tried to understand and use a friends victorian wheel. As an engineer I'm impressed with the em. Engineering! Thanks.
Thank you for this! I just got an old double drive spinning wheel that I'm repairing and learning about. I've always used single drive wheels until now.
Thank you! This is so helpful. I have a double drive country craftsman and just started learning.❤
I have just bought an old spinning wheel and didn’t understand how to get the yarn get unto the bobbin. I was quite frustrated because I didn’t understand who the whole ting worked. Now I know. THANKS A LOT !
That was the best video on double drive wheels!
Thanks for making this easy to understand. I have a double drive Pipy saxony and she draws fast. I understand better now, thank you!
You’ve saved my life! I’ve been able to set up my antique double drive wheel thanks to you ❤️
I recently found a beautiful kromski mazurka on offerup. I abandoned double drive almost immediately and converted it to the single drive.
This is what I needed! And as a new spinner understanding the details of tensioning this type of wheel is so incredibly helpful!
