Spent $230 on my Son's custom A1000. But after it didn't arrive before Christmas, Wilson gave me 50% back on the price and sent a new Evo SRZ-1 bat bag for the troubles! So far, we love the new A1000!
Got the 2025 A1000 for my son based on the hint you gave on your last budget glove video about how good it is. You are spot on. The new A1000 is like a totally different glove. My son loves the stiffer fingers and the fit.
Hey Chris, your video has great timing as my 9 year old has outgrown his old Rawlings Sure Catch. He loves my Jax EN-7 in Blue that I got over Christmas, too bad Jax doesn’t make a youth version 😂. We’ve been out to look at the Rawlings XLE, R9 Contour Fit, and the old A1000 Pedroia fit. We’ve also seen a glove on JustGloves that is an exclusive, the HOH Mark Of A Pro line, but there’s zero information, no reviews that I can find, even Reddit has little on it. Any thoughts, information, or reviews or experience you may have would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for watching brother! I would think that an R9 may be a great option for a 9 year old. If he's on the bigger side you could go with a new A1000 but it's gonna take some more break in work to make it comfortable for him. I would probably stick to one of those tough R9 vs A1000.
Would be cool to see an a1000 outfield glove review even if just a mini review. Looking to pick up a 2nd glove for my oldest who is a hs freshman and his secondary position is corner outfield. He has a pretty new a2000 for infield and pitching but he does need a new outfield glove
Damn. I remember when a new A2000 was $180 back in 2005. Call me old but I much prefer the classic color ways of tan and black or the combo of the two.. nowadays the gloves all kind of look like a 5 year old designed them.. Either way, very informative video!
Follow angle definitely should try a gimbal and a bit wider of a shot. I like it tho you should try and do a top down cam from the rafters or something.
@ the new videos are gonna be so dope I film/photograph cars for a living so finding new angles and how to keep things smooth is what I do lol! Follow cam filmed at like a 24 if your on full frame with a gimbal will be hella smooth if you can mount a real camera up in the rafters a 35 or even a 50 would probably look pretty sick! You can always test out osmo pocket gimbals for tracking footage as well.
I like the old a1000 with the wrinkles. Feels like everything I get a glove on just sticks and goes into the pocket. Had mine for 2 years and its still holding up. It will get bullied at over 75 mph but for younger kids its perfect.
How does the new A1000 compare (other than size) to the Rawlings Gamer Contour? We're in the process of upgrading my 8 year's glove and I've been pretty set on trying out the Gamer Contour at 10.5".. Virtually same price point.. Thanks!
bgk can you do SSK? I really wanna buy one but can’t find any actual good reviews on it and I was hoping you could do one especially the Z9 and z7 models
Is there any size difference between the dp15 a1000 and the dp15 a2000? Wilson says that a1000 is for 10+ and a2000 is for 13+ My son is 8 and rocking the a700 really well. The plastic on the inside is starting to peel. We play year round and most of his friends can touch 50mph. I don’t mind breaking a sweat on an a2000 if it’s the same hand size as the a1000. I’m a Wilson fanboy so I’m not considering other brands.

Great video, but no serious high school baseball player in the world should use anything under an A200/Heart of the Hide. Especially in 2025 where kids will play 50+ games in a season, using anything under a professional level glove isn't good enough
@ I dont think you understand how fast gloves break down. A heart of the hide, arguably the top glove, either that or the Pro preferred, will last 2-3 years. 300-400 dollars for 3 years at most. A cheap A1000 does not last more than 1-2 years. HS kids deserve better gloves
@@joeyprice5224So youre telling me that 300 for 3 seasons is better than 150-180 for 2? And a glove doesn't matter in the long run. give a college athlete a a1000 and they will still perform. Equipment doesn't matter as much as talent and work ethic. If a player's family doesn't have much money they will get a cheaper glove and can still be an amazing ball player who is serious. I do own 2 Heart of the hide gloves. thats because i worked my ass off to get them. i was using a 130 12.5 rawlings gg elite at 3rd base because that was all i could afford and get. i still played well with it.
@@joeyprice5224And youre like 9. you dont understand hs ball. im a junior in hs. we had a varsity shortstop using a 80 dollar glove and was the best ss in the division. we all put money towards his dream custom rawling pro preferred as a gift. he still used the cheap one for most of the season because that is what he loved and was used to
@@Mk_gaming29 using my age(which you have no idea what it is) as a way to invalidate my argument is a fallacy btw. Yes, great players are great with any kind of glove, but the very highest quality glove for a serious HS player should be the standard. Using one example is a bad argument as well. When I played HS, every player that actually played used a top tier glove. Also don't come at me with the "some families can't good gloves" as a way to make me feel bad. Use better arguments please
Hey ball glove king I’m a huge fan of ur videos and I wanted to say if u would mind giving me a free baseball glove for a lefty. It has been hard these days to try and getting one.
180 is still kinda steep imo , it's a BUDGET glove.., over 150 not budget , you can spend a couple more bucks & get a real glove Steerhide or Kip on sale.. I do like the Wilson on the index instead of the numbers.. they for sure made it better but I wouldn't drop 180 on one!
So yes this is true but there's a few things to note. 1. this is a super solid glove in the budget category and it's gonna be very helpful to some younger players who don't need the stiffness of an a2000 2. they have custom A1000's (video coming next week) so figuring out if these are good is super important. 44 has nicer leather but way worse consistency and shape. So what is more important in a cheap custom... consistency in materials and shape or leather? (this is a tough question so I'm really excited to explore it) 3. I don't really have a third point I guess but at a glance it makes my response look educated.
I won’t believe the new design is better until they send me at least 5 new gloves to test out. 😂
Lolol
@ what’s unfortunate is I really like the old color way and they’ll never do it again.
Always a good day when bgk posts
nice video again! its so funny when you chuck the gloves at the wall and put the Michael Jackson HEE HEE, i love your vids keep up the good work!
lol I’m glad you like it
Thanks for this video! Was contemplating about getting a 2025 A1000 for my 9 year old.
I got one. Its sick!
@@StefanMailey how old is your son ? And how does it fit him?
Last years a1000 went on a super sale for $79 plus shipping. At that price it was a steal. But otherwise it’s a hard no
I've watched this channel for months and just realized that I wasn't subscribed! Fixed that.
Love the videos Chris! How good is the 1810 and can you make another video on it?
The 1810 is a top 3 baseball outfield pattern for sure
great review my brother! 😊
New A1000 gloves say Wilson on the finger. That’s how you’ll know
Dude I should have said that, how did I forget to mention it!!

Heck yeah man that’s awesome!
Still waiting for the Z5 and Z7 SSKs for this budget list, really being slept on.
We have one!
Working on planning a time to film with it
What’s was the break in on the new one? Was that thumb and pinky flared with curled fingers traditional?
Correct!
flared thumb and pinky, rolled fingers, trad finger out

Ordered my glove break in 🔥
You mentioned briefly the A900. Any thoughts on it? Looking at it for my 10u player.
For 10U it's definitely a very solid option. I think they redid that series too so look for a newer one if you can!

yo you need to review closed back pitching/outfiled gloves
Need the 44 speed custom in there
I gotta make a video on it but those are a really good price but they are some of the worst gloves we get in for BGK Break Ins… 😬
@@ballgloveking You should order one in a different name and get the real speed custom and see what it's like...
I have the exact old A 1000
Bradley is the move for youth gloves. Even have models for HS kids w smaller hands.
does it come in the 1810 pattern and should I use it in high school baseball
So far no 1810 sadly but yes I would definitely rock this in the outfield

You should do a glove review on no surrender baseballs gloves

Is the a1000 good for a highschool 3rd baseman
How many gloves do you have total??
Somewhere between 100 and 250
@ballgloveking and what's the most you have sent on a glove!
You should review the Heart of the Hide Gold Glove Club-September
2
You should really do it vs a2000
Can you review Rico gloves
How do I get wrinkles out of the palm and backs of fingers?
So am I crazy or is it easy to find a2000's for that price or less (especially if youre a lefty)
Yes but that will likely slowly go away
I could be wrong but yes my brother and I were just talking about that!
