Joan Chamorro has cultivated a large number of very talented young jazz musicians, but Elia Bastida has to be one of the best and brightest. At 27 years old today, Elia now plays at the level of jazz violin greats Stephane Grappelli and Ray Nance. If anyone wants an audio description of what "being in the groove" means, this performance shows Elia being just that.
Our love for good jazz music will never end. And as long as I can accompany you during their presentation, I am happy. 🎶👍💖
What a tone Scott has. Like smooth, velvety and dark Belgian chocolate. Coupled with the always sensational Elia this sends shivers up and down the spine.
SOO beautiful. I turned Scott Hamilton onto my father 30 years ago. Both my father & mother played Jazz professionally out of Kansas City during the 1930's. Bless my parents for sharing their music love with me. All in this group are soo together, as music is such a great universal language. THANKS for keeping JAZZ alive in Spain. What I like about Elia is her phrasing and simplicity. She does not put too many toppings on the pizza. Scott is a legend and everything he plays seems perfect.

I cant get over the fact that Elia sounds just like Stephane Grapelli when she does a jazz riff. Plus the fact that she gets more beautiful as she gets older. I think she is going to become a great jazz performer ( including her excellent voice).

Now who, I say who is better to open this song on slow tempo than that guy in the print shirt named Scott. I felt like I was hearing the lyrics as he played. (I like a lot of French songs) But the jazzy up tempo continuation of the song just carries me along the whole way through.

One of these days soon Elia would have the late Stepan Graphelli saying, "You're the best thing to happen to jazz violin in 70+ years". One of my favorite tunes; I have too many favorite tunes but who doesn't with people that really love music. Scot Hamilton never disappoints with his mellow playing similar to Stan Getz.
