Besided that I stumbled upon a niche perfumery here in Ljubljana that I've never seen before. They've got some great stuff like Bois 1920, Perris Monte Carlo and some other stuff. They don't have all their perfumes (including mandarino di sicilia) but nevertheless, I'll to be checking that out! Hola amigo...32 ounces of H20 as my mate of choice this evening. First, your movie picks were very good. Not all on my top ten, but you mentioned a few which was great. Thankfully "2001" made the cut (my personal number one), if not I'd have to look at you funny. Excellent diversion during a Mate Talk. How about a top ten list next time of your favorite albums? Any genre. Lastly, the fragrances you listed all sound good, with Victrix by Profumum Roma. You've already sold me on Acqua di Sale, which I've begun wearing again now that the weather is warming up. Take care!
Phew! Lucky that 2001 was on the list, otherwise I would have lost all credibility!!😮💨 How about I do top 10 songs?? I can already think of at least 5 off the top of my head....actually one better, what if I get everyone to suggest 3 songs that they love and we can create a playlist😎 Boom Baby!!💫 Thoughts?🤔 And YES! It's becoming perfect Acqua di Sale weather☀️😎 magic fragrance! Great to hear from you hermano! Thanks for reaching out Fred
Dear Marcelo, I really enjoy and appreciate your channel, you are very gifted person, it is pleasure to listen how you talk about the fragrances. Although I am a woman, and your channel is mostly dedicated to men perfumes I still enjoying listen to you. I am also surprised that you don't have a lot od subscribers, cperhaps you can consider to add more content dedicated to woman? I think also the titles of your videos could be a bit more 'searching friendly'?? So the RUclips algorithm will often suggest your channel to the new views?? These are my suggestions :) keep on doing what you are doing cause it is a terrific channel!
I loved reading your comments Dominika🙏🏽 Really appreciative that you've taken the time to share your advice. You're right in saying that I need to focus more on a female audience and fragrance's that will resonate for a woman...I will put on my 'thinking cap' for this but I welcome any ideas on things that you would love to see. I'm curious with your comment on being 'search friendly'...again I welcome any ideas as this is important to me and I do try to make them easy for an audience to find (but realise that I still need to work on this) Thank you again @dominikaczechak7462 for reaching out....very much appreciated💫
woah that sample lineup sounds magnificent! i cannot wait till i get my nose to those. who knows those samples just might convert into full bottles. akkad! i was planning to buy some lubin samples including idole de lubin via forwarders. most anticipated! green lion sounds like psychedelique turned towards a camphorous direction. exciting! sand dance sounds like a cacao that i'd love with the booziness. this may not intend to be gourmand but thinking about alcoholic chocolate makes my mouth water. blond amber sounds like a fun mystery scent! couldn't help but peek at the notes but i have no idea how this boozy amber can include florals. most intrigued!
I'm so happy that you gave me the challenge to bring these together for you Daniel and even more excited to hear that you're looking forward to experiencing them. Of the 4...I really LOVE Akkad. I feel that Lubin is a brand that flies really low under the radar and yet they have some very impressive and exciting fragrances, plus it's a brand with an incredible history (wait till you see the episode coming out this Sunday🔥🤩) Awesome to hear from you my friend; congrats again on winning these👊🏽 (BTW the parcel is on its way to you🧡)
Thank you Waleed for the words of support and encouragement💫 very grateful that you enjoy these Mate Talks...I sometimes feel that they go for too long; so try to make sure that I pack as much information as possible plus place chapter markers so people can watch what they're interested in...I don't want to bore people😬 I'm glad that you enjoy these episodes. Thank you for reaching out my friend👊🏽
@The Niche Fragrance Collector I appreciate the work you do and thanks for putting so much time in each video. I don't see how anyone can be bored lol. Cheers!
Enjoyed the vid. Like the perfume choices, though haven't tried Vitrix (not the creed so much, but see the appeal). No Fougere Royale? "All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain." Rutger Hauer's performance at the end of Blade Runner was phenomenal. Great film! I'm one of the few people who didn't like The Matrix, as I'm a big sci-fi buff, and it wasn't brilliant on that front (brilliant visuals and action sequences though). My beverage is Earl Grey.
Fougere Royal would have been an obvious choice. It's a new one in the collection and I haven't worn this enough to share properly....however, I have already earmarked a 'Fougere' line up and it will be the crowning glory in that episode 😉 Thanks for quoting Rutger's closing line...such impact with those words and also in relation to the entire plight of the characters (actually his whole speech is the best)...I always wondered how Harrison was able to blink with all that rain on his face?? I actually try to do this in the shower and always have to wipe my eyes, I can't do what he does 😂 Thanks for the vote 🍋🫖! Great to hear from Edward👊🏽
This is easily my favorite episode, I enjoyed it very much, I love your top 10 movies, sir. I can see the love and passion in your voice and words when you talk about movies. Making a top 10 movies list is a lot harder than fragrances, so thanks for doing it 🙏 This is my top 10 movies: - 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) - Pulp Fiction (1994) - Persona (1966) - Rashomon (1950) - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) - Woman in the Dunes (1964) - The Apartment (1960) - Blow-Up (1966) - The Godfather (1972) - Solaris (1972) Recently I watched an Australian movie which I enjoyed very much and I was meant to ask you about it. Bad Boy Bubby (1993)... You seen it?
You're welcome my friend💫 thank you for putting up the challenge, I very much enjoyed bringing this together. Love your 10 top list. I need to find the Japanese movies that you referenced. The only one that I know is Rashomon, but not the other 2. I haven't watched Bad Boy Buddy, but I am aware of the movie...I will also have to check this one out. One that I would recommend to you is "Animal Kingdom" very impressive Aussie film. Thanks again for jumping into the conversation👊🏽
Thank you Vardaan🙏🏼 I actually went to a Hindu wedding in Jalandhar a few years ago; fell in love with the intense smells everywhere; I had an incredible time. And yes, next time would love to just focus on perfumery....where would you recommend I go?
@@TheNicheFragranceCollector Thank you for the reply 🙏🏻 I would recommend you to come to kannauj in the state of Uttar Pradesh. All the natural raw materials for perfumes are made there, that place has a rich history of making perfumes and perfume concentrated oils for kings and queens of India. You’ll find 100% natural attars (perfume oils) over there. That kind of pure natural perfumery is above everything. I’m sure you’ll love it. Please inform me if-ever you come to India ,I would love to meet and explore with you. Thank you 🙏🏻💙
You’re the best Vardaa🙏🏽 I appreciate this insight and 100% will reach out when I plan to visit India (as I really would love to return) Thanks for reaching out my friend
Wouldn’t choose Raiders of the Lost Ark as my no.1 movie but great list nevertheless, especially When Harry Met Sally, entertaining and with an excellent dialogue. Also, Nio is my choice from the list for a hot day, have a good day! ☀️
Great choice on Nio...can never go wrong with this beauty🧡 Raiders was life changing for me as a kid. Have an irrational soft spot for this movie (I mean I walk around with a leather satchel...who does that remind you of???) Thanks for jumping into the conversation Jose, great to hear from you
Nope, Blazing Saddles is awesome😆 Funny, I actually had Young Frankenstein (another Brookes/Wilder masterpiece) but it got knocked out by PaperMoon. And yes Torino21 is a masterpiece designed for summer and happiness☀️🥰 Great to hear from you Ryan👊🏽
I totally agree that Rosendo Mateu 5 is a masterpiece. We don't actually have this brand in Australia but I had the chance to test this at Esxence and the good people from Rosendo Mateu gave me a sample....LOVE THIS!!! One day I will own this😇 Thanks for reaching out Ibraheem, great to hear from you my friend👊🏽
I love your videos mr Marcelo, maybe one day You can make a review on Nasomatto Nudiflorum? Your reviews Got me interested in Gaultieris Work and i love his fragrances and recently i smelt Nudiflorum and Got interested in what is your opinion on it.
Thanks for reaching out Jakub, wonderful to hear from you and so cool that you’ve had the chance to discover Alessandro’s work (the man is a genius!) Interestingly, I don’t currently own Nudiflorum😮 this is one that I’m still having a hard time with. However it’s been over a year since I last smelt this fragrance so I do believe it’s time to revisit it…. Curious to know why this fragrance resonated with you so quickly?
@@TheNicheFragranceCollector as a niche fragrance novice, Nudiflorum Got my attention because of the note of rhubarb. I sprayed it on my hand and later i was surprised by the Leather and animallic Accord which was something new to me. I love Leather scents like fahrenheit and cuoium so this one really grabbed my attention.
Brilliant Jakub; awesome break up. And yes, it is a very distinct leather fragrance….promise that I will revisit this and see how my brain goes with it 🤯
Hi Katherine💫 to be a member to enter the monthly raffle you need to become a 'Member' of the channel. I've noticed that some RUclips apps don't have the 'Join' button. So if you jump on via a desktop/laptop and go to RUclips you'll see the join button. It's a monthly cost of about AU$4 You'll see that you'll get some extra emoji's plus you'll get an icon to show that you're a member. I'll do the next draw at the end of May...Good Luck!😎
Love this episode Marcelo. Hilarious opening with the dream, including the MLK association. I've been dreaming about fragrances lately as well, it is truly a sign of unhealthy obsession, at least for me. Loved the film list, as a film buff myself it was great to hear about your picks. As a Kubrick fanatic, the public perception of him in general is simultaneously shrouded with this mystery and also negativity due to a lot of bad press he received throughout his life as this megalomaniac, perfectionist recluse which from all I've read and seen over the years seem to be quite untrue. The story with Shelly Duvall sort of blew out of proportion in my opinion, I believe she even commented on it herself recently. People who've worked with SK usually say he was very intense, but also very humane, and I find it hard to believe his daughter would put together a doc showing him psychologically tormenting Duvall and that he'd be okay with it. I remember clearly that Shelly herself stated in the BTS that she is jealous of Nicholson for being such a big star and getting a lot of attention, and I do believe the hair falling out was an expression of wanting to get some attention, probably also the result of stress in general. Kubrick is shown to be very agitated with her at some point (when there's some miscommunication and she can't hear they're rolling the cameras, but that's part of filmmaking). I also loved the BTS footage from Full Metal Jacket, also shot by Kubrick's daughter. There's also Matthew Modine's journal that he kept during the filming of FMJ and uploaded in the form of an app, it has some great insight into what Kubrick was like at work on set - the good and the bad. Anyway...I'm just such a fan of SK that I had to step in on that and defend him. Love all his post Spartacus films, they're probably all in my top 10 of all time, but my current favorites are Lyndon and Eyes Wide Shut. The Shining is such a brilliant film, the opening is truly epic, and I think it really shows one of the undervalued genius qualities in Kubrick's works and that is his use of sound and music. He truly married image and sound in such a way that is rarely seen in other films, it's not there to cue something or fill space, but to generate a cognitive emotion/reaction that couldn't have been achieved otherwise. 2001 is really the moment he took this sound and image to a new plane, using classical pieces in space is not a very conventional choice but it creates that sense of amazement, of elevation - in general it was a true innovation in the film industry, which by that time was using mostly original scores. Totally agree it should be watch on a big screen, 2001 is an experience more than anything and having it surround you with sound and image and dwarf you is the way to watch it. Frantic is such an entertaining film - the dynamics between Emmanuelle Seigner's dark femme fatalism, the Stoicism of Harrison Ford (what a mensch), the sarcasm of Polanski and Paris in the background is gold. I need to revisit it soon...I now have Libertango playing in my head. I wanted to also jump in the conversation last week on the topic of subscribers but wasn't sure how relevant of an input it is - first of all I agree with everyone who told you to keep doing what you're doing, it seems like your base is steadily growing. It's probably a lot harder to grow a base today on the platform than it was in the past with so many creators and the fact your numbers are steadily rising is all that matters in this context. I believe the people who do subscribe truly appreciate your content and approach. I personally don't like it when creators push people to subscribe, but what do I know? maybe it works and I think we've all become quite used to the repeated mantras to subscribe so it's not so much of a nuisance anymore. Do what feels right for you - you have a very natural way to communicating, that is your charm, and I'm sure you'll eventually find a way that feels organic for you to communicate this message. Regarding your question last week, there could be many reasons people watch content but don't subscribe - for example, I can't tell you the number of times in the past in which I've subscribed and unsubscribed (repeatedly) from creators I love to watch. Watching content can be very addictive to some, and in some cases, when we watch content that has something to do with consumerism, or that can lead us to unhealthy spending, we might opt to unsubscribe and keep this content out of sight. I personally found that I'm only tricking myself when I do this because I end up searching for these creators to watch their content anyway, and eventually I just decided to stop tricking myself into believing that by not subscribing I somehow block myself from watching their content. That's just one personal example, there are so many other possibilities to consider and nothing really you can do about it other than encourage people to subscribe. Personally I think that as long as you're authentic you'll have authentic subscribers, who are happy to engage, which is really the most important thing.
My Man (or Woman)! What a post you just wrote!!! I enjoyed reading your break down on the movies and like you as a movie buff I enjoyed your insight....all 100% on point. I wanted to share more on each movie but I was cognitive that this is a niche perfume channel and didn't want people to roll their eyes😬 BUT, yes to all your points on Kubrick. And YES to the way he used sound🤩...just think of Danny riding around on the scooter (from floor to carpet to floor...this is pure gold!!) Thank you for taking the time to share all that you did; very much appreciated. And thank you for supporting the channel; also very much appreciated 👊🏽 BTW, do you mind if I know your name?
@@TheNicheFragranceCollector true, Danny riding his little bicycle is an amazing example of that, such a suspenseful sequence and yet it is so minimalistic. Don't mention it, it's my pleasure! My top movies 1) Interstellar 2) Inception 3) Star Wars 4) Jurrasic Park 5) I am legend 6) iRobot 7) Wolf on Wall Street 8) a old animated movie called Were back! A dinosaur story 9) My best friends wedding 10) Scream. The other night I dreamed about buying bodacious the next night without even thinking about that dream I bought it lmao. I prophecied my own buying lmao
Great to hear from you Daniel and I love your own Inception between dream and waking...or is it the opposite 😧 Love your movie line up, each one of them is brilliant and have to say that they did cross my original list. Not familiar with 8...going to have to see if I can find this one Great to hear from you mate👊🏽
I like movies for being enveloped in a good story, like The Shawshank Redemption and oddly enough another prison movie The Green Mile. And, as cheesy as it is, after every rerun of Groundhog Day, I always walk away with this feeling of ‘what if you can live and learn and experience for an unlimited amount of time?’
I love your inclusion of Groundhog Day. Another clever film that still holds up well. I love that it doesn't answer the 'why is this happening' question. At the end of a great day that I might have experienced, I always say to my wife...."I'd be happy if Groundhog Day was today" 😎 (but not sure it works that way🙄) Good to hear from you Gerard👊🏽

That’s a very interesting list. I would probably not put a single one of your movies on my list, but I guess that’s kind of the point of having a lost in the first place 😬 Stéphane Humbert Lucas: It’s a name, so in the end, that’s how he himself wants it to be pronounced, but I would say it like that: don’t pronounce the H or the T in Humbert, and don’t say the S in Lucas either 🤗
Yes, I was very deliberate with SHL😂 I didn't want to make a mistake...no cuts baby!! Thanks for advising on the correct pronunciation...noted👊🏽 Great to hear from you Luke😎

I love that scene, and then the cherry on top is when Jess (Harry's friend) is carrying the wagon wheel out of the house😂
Take care!
Phew! Lucky that 2001 was on the list, otherwise I would have lost all credibility!!😮💨
How about I do top 10 songs?? I can already think of at least 5 off the top of my head....actually one better, what if I get everyone to suggest 3 songs that they love and we can create a playlist😎 Boom Baby!!💫 Thoughts?🤔
And YES! It's becoming perfect Acqua di Sale weather☀️😎 magic fragrance!
Great to hear from you hermano! Thanks for reaching out Fred
@@TheNicheFragranceCollector Three songs from over 17k subscribers, now that's a list! I'll do it.
I’m researching this…see if I can bring this to life😎
Dear Marcelo, I really enjoy and appreciate your channel, you are very gifted person, it is pleasure to listen how you talk about the fragrances.
I'm curious with your comment on being 'search friendly'...again I welcome any ideas as this is important to me and I do try to make them easy for an audience to find (but realise that I still need to work on this)
Thank you again @dominikaczechak7462 for reaching out....very much appreciated💫
woah that sample lineup sounds magnificent! i cannot wait till i get my nose to those. who knows those samples just might convert into full bottles.
akkad! i was planning to buy some lubin samples including idole de lubin via forwarders. most anticipated!
green lion sounds like psychedelique turned towards a camphorous direction. exciting!
sand dance sounds like a cacao that i'd love with the booziness. this may not intend to be gourmand but thinking about alcoholic chocolate makes my mouth water.
blond amber sounds like a fun mystery scent! couldn't help but peek at the notes but i have no idea how this boozy amber can include florals. most intrigued!
I'm so happy that you gave me the challenge to bring these together for you Daniel and even more excited to hear that you're looking forward to experiencing them.
Of the 4...I really LOVE Akkad. I feel that Lubin is a brand that flies really low under the radar and yet they have some very impressive and exciting fragrances, plus it's a brand with an incredible history (wait till you see the episode coming out this Sunday🔥🤩)
Awesome to hear from you my friend; congrats again on winning these👊🏽 (BTW the parcel is on its way to you🧡)
Love the video! I'm always waiting for you to drop a new video, but the worst part of these videos is that they're not longer, lol!
Thank you Waleed for the words of support and encouragement💫 very grateful that you enjoy these Mate Talks...I sometimes feel that they go for too long; so try to make sure that I pack as much information as possible plus place chapter markers so people can watch what they're interested in...I don't want to bore people😬
I'm glad that you enjoy these episodes.

"All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain."
Rutger Hauer's performance at the end of Blade Runner was phenomenal. Great film! I'm one of the few people who didn't like The Matrix, as I'm a big sci-fi buff, and it wasn't brilliant on that front (brilliant visuals and action sequences though).
My beverage is Earl Grey.
Fougere Royal would have been an obvious choice. It's a new one in the collection and I haven't worn this enough to share properly....however, I have already earmarked a 'Fougere' line up and it will be the crowning glory in that episode 😉
Thanks for quoting Rutger's closing line...such impact with those words and also in relation to the entire plight of the characters (actually his whole speech is the best)...I always wondered how Harrison was able to blink with all that rain on his face?? I actually try to do this in the shower and always have to wipe my eyes, I can't do what he does 😂
Thanks for the vote 🍋🫖! Great to hear from Edward👊🏽
This is easily my favorite episode, I enjoyed it very much, I love your top 10 movies, sir. I can see the love and passion in your voice and words when you talk about movies. Making a top 10 movies list is a lot harder than fragrances, so thanks for doing it 🙏
This is my top 10 movies:
- 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
- Pulp Fiction (1994)
- Persona (1966)
- Rashomon (1950)
- The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)
- Woman in the Dunes (1964)
- The Apartment (1960)
- Blow-Up (1966)
- The Godfather (1972)
- Solaris (1972)
Recently I watched an Australian movie which I enjoyed very much and I was meant to ask you about it.

Great video Marcello. Come to India, you’ll be fascinated to see how the culture is related to natural perfumery.
Thank you 🙏🏻💙
You’re the best Vardaa🙏🏽 I appreciate this insight and 100% will reach out when I plan to visit India (as I really would love to return)

Wouldn’t choose Raiders of the Lost Ark as my no.1 movie but great list nevertheless, especially When Harry Met Sally, entertaining and with an excellent dialogue. Also, Nio is my choice from the list for a hot day, have a good day! ☀️
Great choice on Nio...can never go wrong with this beauty🧡
Raiders was life changing for me as a kid. Have an irrational soft spot for this movie (I mean I walk around with a leather satchel...who does that remind you of???)

Am I weird if my #1 movie is Blazing Saddles 😂😂 also Torino21 is one of the best fragrances I have ever put my nose on. It is beautiful!
Blazing Saddles is amazing!
Nope, Blazing Saddles is awesome😆 Funny, I actually had Young Frankenstein (another Brookes/Wilder masterpiece) but it got knocked out by PaperMoon.
And yes Torino21 is a masterpiece designed for summer and happiness☀️🥰
Great to hear from you Ryan👊🏽
Marcelo appreciate your work
Have you tried Rosendo Mateu 5?
It’s a masterpiece IMO
I totally agree that Rosendo Mateu 5 is a masterpiece. We don't actually have this brand in Australia but I had the chance to test this at Esxence and the good people from Rosendo Mateu gave me a sample....LOVE THIS!!!
One day I will own this😇

I love your videos mr Marcelo, maybe one day You can make a review on Nasomatto Nudiflorum? Your reviews Got me interested in Gaultieris Work and i love his fragrances and recently i smelt Nudiflorum and Got interested in what is your opinion on it.
Thanks for reaching out Jakub, wonderful to hear from you and so cool that you’ve had the chance to discover Alessandro’s work (the man is a genius!)
Interestingly, I don’t currently own Nudiflorum😮 this is one that I’m still having a hard time with.

Hi. When you say “join” you mean subscribe right? I wanna make sure I’m in your raffle! Lol.
Hi Katherine💫 to be a member to enter the monthly raffle you need to become a 'Member' of the channel. I've noticed that some RUclips apps don't have the 'Join' button. So if you jump on via a desktop/laptop and go to RUclips you'll see the join button. It's a monthly cost of about AU$4
You'll see that you'll get some extra emoji's plus you'll get an icon to show that you're a member.

At the end of a great day that I might have experienced, I always say to my wife...."I'd be happy if Groundhog Day was today" 😎 (but not sure it works that way🙄)
