I, too, have been using those same flip-top bottles from rei for years. I finally broke down today and ordered a green .3 liter trangia bottle. My other bottles have never leaked but it was only a matter of time. Great review!
Thank you for answering my #1 question, aluminum or stainless steel. Happily, neither. I have been thinking about this product, we are huge fans of "spirit burners." I have been weighing a simple dollar store stainless steel bottle against the Trangia product because our favourite fuel is high purity ethanol, corrosive to aluminum metal. The quality you have demonstrated says "worth the money."
I am in Canada, not sure if you can get it as well, it's much cheaper to use methyl hydrate, you can find it in the painting isle. Prior to fuel injection, you had to run it in the vehicle in the winter at -40 the carburetor would freeze up on the highway. Thanks for posting the video, I had been using my MSR white gas bottle, but the cap becomes really tight to turn with alcohol.
Next time I'm out in the hardware store I will hit the pain Island see if I can find any of that. Thanks for the tip. Thanks for the comment and Views brother.
Welp all the reviews say white gas is a go. Lets label a few, one for Rum, one for bourbon😂😂...paint em road cone green and safety orange.🤔 Also, one could make a heavy rubber cap to somewhat protect that assembly
out of all reviews i watched so far on youtube, yours the only one that shows the light trick to see the alcohol inside the bottle 👍🏻
@calme_ Glad I can stand out even if its only by a little bit. Thanks for the comment and views.

@padude131 Thanks I'm Glad you found it useful.
On trangia's original website the replacement valve is 81 sek which is 8 usd, so their price is fair without the customs shenanigans!
Customs like taxes just suck. Thanks for the info.
