These aren't just for alcohol. You can use them for Coleman Fuel/white gas, kerosene, alkylate fuel(Aspen 4) etc. The material is HDPE just like plastic fuel cans. These are a MUST HAVE for filling things with small fuel fillers like Svea 123, Optimus, Primus, Coleman stoves and lanterns. The spout fits nicely and no more spills, funnels overfilling, etc.
I have one of these.
Important safety tip, ALWAYS push the button with the bottle vertical before tilting it to fill your stove.
If it's a warm day (or just warmer than it was last time you opened it or pushed the button) you build up a little pressure in the bottle due to expansion, if you don't release the pressure before tilting you get a splash of alcohol out of the top tube when you push the button which goes all over your hand, we are not talking about a fire hose, just a splash, but being covered in fuel just before lighting a stove isn't fun.
This is more likely to happen when the bottle is nearly full.
It won't happen every time but it's better to get into the habit of releasing the pressure every time you pick the bottle to use it than trying to figure out if you need to.
Before screwing bottle shut after use press valve open for a few seconds while holding upright to drain back the small amount of trapped fuel in valve. This is the only complaint most have when using this fuel dispensing bottle.
Lol I can't help but think how many subscribers channels like yours and others have gained this month. 👍🏼
Keep up the great worksir. One of the best.
lol honestly, 5,112 in last 28 days. Its kind of shocking haha Heck I still remember a few years ago when I was excited breaking 1000 subs!
@@Iridium242 congratulations!
I have a smaller trangia version that is 500ml and it's red!
Great video, thanks for sharing!!
i use a hip flask usually for carrying whisky or brandy , it packs away really neatly unlike a round bottle
This is a great, safe way to carry fuel. Nice!
Nice I have the 1/2 liter version. Use it for weekend excursions all the time.
That bottle reminds me of the MSR bottle. Hopefully they will make other sizes of this bottle.
They do. .3l and .5l
A liter of alcohol is a lot! I have smaller versions of this for some of my kits but the liter one would be good for my little white gas/kerosene stoves.
I do have the Trangia system and I love that fuel bottle!
I've often thought about getting that bottle I use a 500ml BRS fuel one right now which holds plenty for my outings but I do like that pouring method, good review and demo
Thanks!
Good morning from henderson NV. Keep the vids coming.
Thanks for the video.
Currently I have a nail polish remover bottle as my fuel bottle for my homemade slcohol stove. Eventuslly I'll get a more compact alcohol stove. I loke the control you get ftom bottles like this one you showed
Hello from Detroit Michigan USA
Greetings from Essex County, UK.
Nice video, thanks.
Excuse the newbie question:
Can I use this type of bottle to carry paraffin for a Petromax HK500 lantern?
I'm still learning the basics of the different types of fuel, I want to make sure I store it properly.
Also, my shed is not heated, can I store the fuel and lantern outside even if it freezes?
In advance, many thanks for your time.
Stay safe, stay warm!
Best regards,
Manny
Thanks for vdo 👍
Do you know offhand if there's any aluminum inside the bottle or the spring mechanism inside the valve?
I ask because I'd like to put bioethanol inside the Trangia fuel bottle, but bioethanol dissolves aluminum. Or so I heard?
It amazes me that none... and I mean none of the commercially available alcohol fuel bottles are child proof.
They hold petroleum fuels too. They’re handy for filling small filler holes without a funnel. Think coleman suitcases, Optimus stoves. If you’re looking for a stove to keep in the car… that Himalayan stove with an msr bottle full of kerosene would be a good option. Bring some gel fuel to prime it.
