Based on the decades of buildup I’m sure they will let him… if not it would be a very poor business move, especially with how much SE relies on Final Fantasy VII after all their awful dealings with NFTs, cryptocurrency and AI plus selling out a bunch of their departments and popular IPs. It would also be a poor storytelling move - pulling the rug out from underneath all the setup and foreshadowing for the sake of cheap reverse-subversion is exactly the kind of MCU-styled writing that people are getting sick of, and would be the ultimate insult on the fans, staff and characters alike 💚

Thank you so very much, I’m very happy I was able to convey Aerith/Clerith’s vibes in this cover ☺️💚 I don’t think Loren Allred’s voice quite gels with Briana White’s, but I greatly respect the power and control her voice wields and she’s sensational in of herself. On a semi-related note, I have indirect beef with Loren Allred - more accurately the song in The Greatest Showman that she sung “Never Enough”. She did an amazing job on it, but it annoyed the HELL out of me that the story calls the character she dubs an “opera singer” when NE’s very clearly a pop ballad. The rest of the songs were forgivable because the genre wasn’t referenced, but that particular number completely messed with the suspension of disbelief because you can’t just call music by a style it isn’t. That’s not Allred’s fault, just a weird little anecdote of my only other experience of her 😂💚
Thanks! I am genuinely rusty with singing since I haven’t properly done it very often in recent years and COVID did make my breathing issues worse. I also downplay my singing because of gender dysphoria (sometimes it feels too high/fem for me) and I have some grief from being pressured to go further with it (ie make it a career) in real life. Nowadays I just sing when I feel like it, such as subscriber milestones 😅💚

I wanted emphasise just how prominent a theme “reunion” has ALWAYS been from Clerith - they met through Aerith selling Cloud a flower and they reunited in a flowerbed both in OG and Advent Children (plus the ending of Dissidia made a nod to this), there’s constant discussion on them meeting, even one of Cloud’s final words in OG is dedicated to his hope to meet Aerith again. Many of their cameos in spin-offs and even unrelated franchises have centred around them reuniting for a second, better chance. This is what Remake project represents - the opportunity to do-over the tragedies of the OG continuity, and I really hope they deliver on the buildup they’ve established over the last 27 years.

Contrary to what Uematsu claims (here ~ finalweapon.net/2023/12/07/nobuo-uematsu-loren-allred-share-comments-on-no-promises-to-keep/ ), there are in fact motifs from Aerith’s Theme in No Promises To Keep ie the melodies for “til the day”, “that we meet”, “but believe”, “know that you’ll find me”, “in the chance”, “know that you’ll take my hand” and “take my hand and believe we can be”. It wasn’t difficult or too much of a speculative reach, all I had to do was fill in the in-between notes that were omitted from NPTK. Perhaps Uematsu didn’t intend to invoke Aerith’s Theme into NPTK, but the influence is absolutely there.
It’s from the FF7R x Mobius collab (you can find links to all the clips used in this video in the description) 💚 I’ve seen many Cleriths theorise that this scene in particular foreshadowed the premise for the Remake project, especially when Cloud says to the fairy Echo (who resembles Aerith) that he wants to go somewhere where everything is new, all while Aerith’s Theme plays ☺️
