My heart is aching in HD.
After 13 years 😂
Crying in HD
This comment deserves to be pinned 😂
Same here
This song always gets me
"How did you survive...?"
"I didn't have a choice. I had to live. I wanted to come home to you. So... I sang your song. Our song."
>tries not to cry again
*cries*
I'm not crying! You're crying!
English version is more romantic on the translation. The Japanese only "So I sang... That song."
but this song is soo beautiful and bittersweet when you hear it.
Am I the only 13 year old kid who loves this game and cried with the ending?😢
I interpreted the "Our song," line to be Garnet's.
My cousin got married last summer. She had this played on piano as she walked down the aisle.
My tears always fallin in my eyes. She's the best wife in the world this song is so meaningful messages in our lives
There is no way my eyes would have been dry.
that would be absolutely stunning to behold.
Great taste 👍
omg that would make me cry as a baby
Im 37 years old and I always cry to this. FF IX will always be my favorite
32 years old now, still the same feeling when listening to this song. FF9 forever
Sameeeeeeeee! 33 here. This is by far my Favorite FF aside FF3/6
35 now, loved it since I was 13.
Hitting 39 october 29th. Still have this masterpiece and a working ps2. Love this song and ending. Zidane and Garnet are a great couple.
34 yr old , same here!!
33 yr old :D love it, by far the best FF game.
2021, anyone?
I bought this game a few weeks ago, and I'm already at the end.
Finished in January. Didnt expect how good it was... One of the best one I played, I Will never forget that experience
Happy you finally got to experience this masterpiece.
got this game finish at the age of PS1 but still listening to those FF sound track nowadays❤️
♥️
Which plat form did u get it on?
Alone for a while
I've been searching through the dark
for traces of the love you left
inside my lonely heart
to weave by picking up the pieces that remain
Melodies of life , loves lost refrain...
Our paths they did cross
though I can not say just why
We met, we laughed, we held on fast
and then we said goodbye
And who'll hear the echoes
of stories never told?
Let them ring out loud till they unfold
In my dearest memories
I see you reaching out to me
Though you're gone
I still believe that you can call out my name
A voice from the past
joining yours and mine
adding up the layers of harmony
And so it goes on and on
Melodies of life, to the sky
beyond the flying birds, forever and beyond...
So far and away, see the bird as it flies by
gliding through the shadows of
the clouds up in the sky
I've laid my memories
and dreams upon those wings
Leave them now and see
what tomorrow brings
In your dearest memories
Do you remember loving me?
Was it fate that brought us close
and now leaves me behind?
A voice from the past
joining yours and mine
adding up the layers of harmony
And so it goes on and on
Melodies of life, to the sky
beyond the flying birds, forever and (on...)
If I should leave this lonely world behind
your voice will still remember our melody
Now I know we'll carry on
Melodies of life, come circle round
and grow deep in our hearts
as long as we remember....
A song from a mother to her daughter, then a song from a friend to another, then a song that binds everyone together.
I cried on the ending scene. FF6 and FF9 will always be the FF of my heart.
Hahaha.....We have the same opinionヾ(*’O’*)/
6 and 9 is also dear to my heart.
Yeah I love 69 too!
@@Mikopi21 hol up-
FF6 and FF9 needs more recognition and I'm glad that there's the pixel remaster of FF6 coming in a later time and there's going to be an FF9 show in like 2023 I think
@@andreworihuela5175 yeah, they only got port and port and port, never actual remake or remaster!
Haha I just realized you’re the same guy who uploaded it 12 years ago!
The hero that we needed
the dedication
Shows the timelessness of this and this song
i just wanted to write this.
A man gotta do what a man gotta do
My mother loved this song. This and Eyes On Me.
This song worked very well with her voice, as her vocal range matched with this song. I even thought that if she was trained profesionally, she would be able to be a great substitute for Emiko Shiratori.
My mother's dead, but my father loves this song now and he has become quite acceptive of game music. He was astounded when he listened to several orchestral arrangement from Distant Worlds. Like many who did not know much about music from video games, he thought that game music were just bleeps and bloops from the late 80s.
I'm forever grateful for that to everyone that were involved in the creation of this song, especially to the composer.
By the way Chadiux, you really are something. I mean, THREE Melodies of Life? Not that I mind, I just found it quite interesting.
Before my best friend passed away he loved this song as well. I enjoyed the game and he enjoyed the music. I didn't appreciate any of the music in this game til he passed away. 2021 FEB here.
What a beautiful story... thank you so much for sharing... it brought tears to my eyes. This is a very beautiful song. It’s one of my favorites and one I am humming to my lil baby when I put her to sleep.
These exactly both songs brings me to my first love...
i still listen to Eyes on Me though IX is my favourite in the game series but that song is by far my favourite in all the OSTs.
Best wishes and God be with you mate.
The message of this game was so simple yet so powerful, I never thought a little boy in robes and a giant wizard hat would make me bawl like a baby, but here we are. I played this at the beginning of quarantine and it's now my favorite game for the story alone. It's a shame many people find the turn based jrpg genre boring and old, this game was so beautiful and so many would pass it up just because it's an old rpg. A remake would give this game a lot of needed love.
I too played this game at the beginning of quarantine, and it's stuck with me in a different kind of way because of it.
Where did you play this?
@@carson4462 I was lucky enough to get a copy for cheap at a yard sale. If you can track down a ps1 copy go for it, but you can always emulate it or play the remaster.
Remake will ruin this game
@@mmosm hard disagree ff7 was amazing. Square actually cares about their games
sad to think that some people will never be able to feel what we felt when we played this game
I bet they felt the same thing with other equally as epic games. We're not that special you and I.
I may not have played this back then, but thankfully I got to experience it on the Switch. I'm glad it was preserved for newer consoles, because this turned out to be one of my favorites in the FF franchise~
@@enkryptron We are not special but this game is moreso than most other games. Of course this is biased...
It's like my only happy childhood memory lol, but therefor the whole FF9 Soundtrack makes me really happy nowadays. Love Nobuo Uematsu, the most genius musician ever imo.
@@EdShrekan and the creators favorite game too!
I first played this game in 2003 when I was 12 year's old. I'm now 30 and still adore this game, personally I think it's even better than FF7.
Same man. Best game from past! Game change me to good side.
Story wise on par. But idk about the combat system
I'll pick ff7vfor the depth of the story. But if replay, I'd choose 9 over 7
Same age here, timeless piece of art
This game absolutely doesn’t need a remake, it’s at the sweet spot where, with this HD update, it looks perfect and classic, the pre-rendered backgrounds look timeless and the CGI is fantastic.
Man than ending scene where Garnet just says "EFF IT" to everything, the insignia of the kingdom thrown aside, she doesn't care if she doesn't act like the new Queen of Alexandria, in that moment she doesn't WANT TO BE the goddamn Queen, throwing her crown aside into the audience.....running towards Zidane in tears and into his arms......
....noone could ever not cry at this scene after you have experienced the whole story....
...and then that cute little added touch that isn't shown here that she bumps her fist on Zidane's chest like she's saying: "Why didn't you tell me earlier that you survived it you jerk?!"
It makes it all oh so more touching and human.
I grew up in the 90s but totaly missed on the Final Fantasy hype. I finished FF9 a few months ago and now I can understand the blast it must have been playing it at the time. Even with the old 3D and dialogs without any voice acting some stories felt ten times more touching than many recent games I've played. I absolutely did not anticipated this but i'll probably remember this game for a long time.
I just finished this earlier tonight. This will probably be on my list of games to play through at least once every two years.
My heart aches and I want to cry so bad when I think about this song, this was my brothers favourite game and he used to play this song often, I fell in love with this song, I never ever thought I would be listening to this in his memory 😢 Aten, wherever you are, I hope you are happy, please come and get me when my time on earth is up ❤️💔😢
Sorry again. I found another flaw/glitch on the video so I had to fix it and re-upload. Promise, this is FINAL! :D
Love the HD version, but u cut the top and bottom part of the video for the 16:9 ratio..
This takes me back many years ago. This video was perfect then and it's perfect now. Upload it another hundred times if you want, I'll come back to it too 🤗🤗
I dont mind if you reupload it in another 10 years
Reupload it in 4K, please! 😍🤗
Whenever i hear this song my heart aches. 😭 Childhood memories.
😭
24 yrs ago I played this game in my old ps 1, times where I play the game as if I'm part of the story it self...
Best game ever made still.,.. nothing can beat this,, the story, the pureness, the evil and joyness, no game can achieve this.
Melodies of Life, growing up with this, priceless
Indeed, this game is beyond a masterpiece. It is the lesson of life itself!
This can not be beaten. Hands down, the best piece from any FF game.
I believe this song has touched your soul and this is also one of the best final fantasy
It was a good game, l will never forget it
I'm not crying, you're crying 😭
24 years ago and always be a melody of my life
42yo and still play games, and maybe this was one of the best games I've ever played
35 now..
And still my heart warms everytime i hear this song... then i cry 😂
35 and yes
Man, i wanna give this so much damn likes, kinda forget the lessons that this game taught me growing up, and when i heard garnets song playing somewhere i rememberred ffix, played it again and finished it in a week, damn i never felt so much at peace that it made me cry.
My first FF game I played (and first RPG too, for that matter). I used to have a crush on princess Garnet/Dagger in those days.
I still remember her singing in the village, the whole identity crisis Vivi was having when he found out about those purple mages, grinding in the first area with Zidane with that sweetass battle music, overleveling my characters... That weird swampy area with tutorials, where the music went "wowowo wowo wo wo".
So many fond memories, but never got past the Bahamut/Behemot whatever his name is.
I'm definitely gonna replay it some time. Also remember hating the part in the sandstorm with the fire-ants. Those mf's were tough.
I'm glad I got to borrow this game from my nephew back then. It opened up a wonderful world. Many wonderful worlds.
i just finished the game recently after last time played as a 8 y.o kid. the feelings...it's still the same as back then..
really love Vivi's charc development
same for me i played when i was 11 n i played it now
This song Is powerful. I almost started crying at work today just singing this song in my head.
my little brother's favorite song.he passed away 2006 at the age of 15...I play this song everytime i misses him..😭..He is always in my heart!
🫂🫂🫂
Genuinely still can't listen to this without tearing up.
9 is absolutely my favourite
I finished the game on the Nintendo Switch lite tonight and I love it. Brilliant, amazed and moved.
I remember first playing this back in 2001. I was skeptical at first because of the different character design but IX is definitely my favorite FF right under VII. It's the only one that ever choked me up at the end haha. Such a great game.
I'm so glad that you're back AND that you've uploaded this in HD! It's like seeing an old friend :) Thank you so much ❤️
One of the best song forever 💕 Love it so much
recently I got to know that Emiko also performed opening for "fun family moomin" series - I was really surprised because it's my favorite TV series from childhood.
I promised myself I wasn't gonna cry. I did. 😭 It's just that beautiful, sad, and perfect. Makes me wanna play again, and become a sobbing, pathetic wreck again. Best game ever: no matter how old you are, man or woman, the ending of this game WILL make you cry. Same as this beautiful song. Yep, IX is a masterpiece in every conceivable way. Now excuse me, I gotta go listen to something loud and brutal to stop these tears. ❤️💔
I finished the game the other day and, i can't stop listening to both versions and always makes me wanna cry and be in Freya's Arms ;~;
"My memories will be part of the sky..."
Mannnnn, the memories.....this was like the golden age of gaming.
Dagger is my favourite of all FF characters, cutting her hair scene was definitive
Wish Vivi could have been there at the end to see his friends :(
My memories will be part of the sky 😭
I cried on that part 😭 he's too cute
Bruh I just started ff9 why did you spoil a moment dude!
@@professionalclown7166 Still a theory though...
It's the most hurting thing about the ending. Still, seems like he accepted the thing and was glad to be part of that story.
left as a princess, back as a queen. my fav RPG FF 9 & Suikoden II
An amazing piece of music..., full of meanings and with beautifull harmonics...., Uematsu san is a genius along with Mitsuda san....
Emotions... love, care, joy, all of these things are what make life so precious
This song always make me cry.
Man, why am I crying??? Oh, it's just... Nobuo Uematsu's music... with a little bit of nostalgia
My favorit song
I love you final fantasy 1x
No matter what replay number, there are always key parts of story that make me cry, and that goes double for the ending. The way she runs down heedless of her jewelry or lack of dignity and jumps into his embrace is so heartwarming. :)
i love this song i remember i play this game on childhood
Dulu namatin berulang2 cuma buat liat ending ini berkali2.. 🥺🥺 inget jaman bocah.. ❤❤❤
My favorite final fantasy. The treasure hunting. The black mage village. The airships and jumping rope along with the card game...whatta piece of art
Oh and the frog catching was fun too
One of the best games to ever exist. Also my first final fantasy game!
No, the Rope Jump was NOT fun.
@@budakbaongsiah it was a testament to the strong. The wellness of ever after with a cherry on top
2024, still FF IX
Eiko: 3 years!
Mog: 3 years!
Same age!
The first 2 seconds and I already had to stop myself from sobbing.
only a few games in the world make me feel tears in my heart like this one T_T
I'm crying when i heared this song. ❤️
I watched the old SD version of this video over and over again when I was a kid. It's a huge point of nostalgia for me. Watching it done in HD is incredible. Thank you.
Recently finished Final Fantasy 9 and I loved it, I haven’t played the other FF games much, like I’ve only played some of FF4 (but it was the DS version which is difficult and I got stuck) and the original Final Fantasy and that being the NES version.
But Final Fantasy 9 might end up being my favorite Final Fantasy game
This game is so underrated. Fr my second favourite final fantasy game
This is arguably one of the best soundtracks of the franchise if not the best one. Challenging hard with Eyes On Me.
Uematsu knows how to write some good ass main themes (FF11s and 14s are amazing, at least the ones he did with Susan are)
My childhood. I wanna cry
Thank you, I am crying now! :( ❤
This is the AMV I will return to watch every couple years, and every couple of years there's a new rendition waiting to be watched. The fact that each version of this video only has minor revisions, each making the AMV more perfect, is a testament as to how good the original AMV already was.
I especially loved the inclusion of the necklace falling as that was the only thing I felt was missing from the previous versions of the video.
Thank you for creating this masterpiece of an AMV, the 2006, 2011 and 2019 versions all have a special place in my heart, and so many others hearts.
Years after years.. i never get bored to hear this beautiful song..
Man i never even play any of this games but after following final fantasy series since last year,( story and fandom) starting from ff7 to the rest of the other games stories, it's really a great feeling and also a fun experience, i couldn't really understand why this was hironobu Sakaguchi favorites back then until i've heard the whole story from other channels talking about this game story and boy i really felt the biggest sense of depth within it, it really is final fantasy at it's best hearing this song was a whole new level of rollercoaster feelings for me, thank you all for making me interested a lot on this series❤️❤️❤️
And with that, even Steiner scored in the end.
I love how unforced and natural Steiner’s and Beatrix’s relationship grew.
Beautiful work that begins and ends with a play.
I cry every time Dagger tosses the crown from her head before leaping into Zidane's embrace.
Steiner and Beatrix approve
This is so beautiful but always makes me cry.
I cannot believe this game came out 20 years ago. I remember playing it when it was new. Time flies.
Why am I crying 😭 what a gorgeous song
we were in this country side of the place, there were barely anything going on.. but there is this karaoke joint where people dont frequent to despite being a small hub because its such a distance from the main road.. the owner pleasantly offered us to indulge so we gladly accepted and we purchased some alcoholic goods from the store to the owner's delight.. to our dismay, the songbook was long outdated, it ddnt contain songs that got released at least 10 years ago.. so i was leafing thru the pages, i found this gem.. i never expected to see a piece of my favorite childhood memory in that book.. since then, ive kept this song in my playlist..
Nostalgic feeling
I like how the melody in the intro is synced with Garnet's footsteps. Well done.
The best game of my life
It was a chilly winter evening in Washington, D.C., and the grand hall of the prestigious Kennedy Center was abuzz with excitement. The Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra was gearing up for a special performance of Coldplay's iconic song "Melodies of Life," adapted and arranged for orchestra by the talented composers George Skaroulis and Christian Henson.
As the audience settled into their seats, the lights dimmed, and conductor Alondra de la Parra took her place at the podium. The orchestra members, dressed in their elegant black and white attire, focused intently on their sheet music, ready to bring this beloved song to life in a whole new way.
The opening notes of the orchestra filled the hall, setting the stage for the hauntingly beautiful melody of "Melodies of Life" to weave its magic over the audience. George Skaroulis' arrangement added depth and richness to the already soul-stirring tune, while Christian Henson's composition breathed new life into the classic Coldplay hit.
Each section of the orchestra worked in perfect harmony, with the strings bringing a sense of warmth and longing, the brass adding power and emotion, the woodwinds lending a gentle touch, and the percussion driving the rhythm and pulse of the music. Every note was played with precision and passion, capturing the essence of the original song while adding a fresh and dynamic twist.
As the music swelled and soared, the audience was transported on a journey of pure emotion and beauty. The melodies danced and intertwined, carrying listeners through highs and lows, joy and sorrow, hope and heartache. It was a symphony of feelings, a tapestry of sound that resonated deep within the hearts of everyone present.
Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion, the members of Coldplay, were in attendance that evening, watching in awe as their song was brought to life in such a magnificent way. They had worked closely with George Skaroulis and Christian Henson to ensure that the essence of "Melodies of Life" was faithfully captured in this orchestral adaptation, and they couldn't have been more thrilled with the result.
Phil Harvey, the band's longtime creative director, sat in the audience, a proud smile on his face as he watched the magic unfold on stage. He had overseen every aspect of the music direction, ensuring that every detail was perfect, every note in its right place.
As the final strains of the song echoed through the hall, the audience erupted into thunderous applause, standing ovations ringing out as a token of their appreciation for the incredible performance they had just witnessed. The Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Alondra de la Parra, had truly outdone themselves, delivering a show-stopping rendition of "Melodies of Life" that would be remembered for years to come.
After the concert, as the lights came up and the musicians took their final bows, Chris Martin stepped onto the stage to address the audience. His voice was filled with gratitude and humility as he thanked everyone involved in bringing this project to fruition - the composers, the conductor, the orchestra, and of course, the fans who had supported Coldplay over the years.
As the crowd dispersed, buzzing with excitement and emotion, it was clear that this evening had been something truly special. The melodies of life had resonated in every heart, touching souls and leaving a lasting imprint that would never be forgotten. And as the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra packed up their instruments and prepared to leave the Kennedy Center, they knew that this night would go down in history as one of their most memorable performances ever.
Always love Nobuo. This is a masterpiece.
Damn... Steiner was helping Quinna cook and sliced some onions close to my eyes...
My number one favorite song since i was a kid!
Final Fantasy IX will always hold a special place in my heart.
Now this is a song I want played at my funeral
This song makes me feel so much in just moments 😭
I finally just beat this game. It's 2 days after I had to put my beloved cat Toby down and OMG, the lyrics are perfect for how I feel.
Hmmm reminds me of general Radann and his horse
OMG I'm watching and crying at the same time. That video is so nostalgic. One of the best adventures that i had.
This song has a very special place in my heart because I lived it, many years ago. So many memories....
I never loved anyone so deeply.
Nostalgic! 90's kid here! 😁
This was my amazing and wonderful favorite game of final fantasy series the greatest of intro, story and gameplay I spent hours and loved the ending of they had a part 2 I wish I knew if Vivi lived or that Garnet and Zidane had kids or even Steiner and Beatrix
The music arrangement is a music bible. So much elements yet with clarity.
I never forget the adventure of zidane and the gang, one of the best final fantasy game, i hope their remake FF9 ❤
One of the most beautiful songs from videogames.
I remenber see this video 13 years ago and cry now 13 years later i cry again...
Only now I noticed how this song fits Freya's character really well
This song is SOO 90s. And absolutely love it.
Only recently started exploring more of this franchise and 9 was of recent interest, and having seen things including the full ending and this song in the credits….. damn… this hurts me on so many levels but I don’t want it to stop. I just feel this need to cry my whole eyes out because it’s just that beautiful.
Vivi ❤ my favorite character 😭
The FMV cutscenes on this game still look great all these years later.
