I wish they would add a few more video assist tools like waveform, false color, anamorphic de-squeeze and control over how far your manual focus throw is. All of these things seem like they could easily be added in firmware. The camera already has incredible video specs and those things would really be the cherry on top! I was considering upgrading to a GH6 for work but this camera has me reconsidering.
I have an X-T4 right now, and am looking at switching as well (especially due to the autofocus)
100% agree with these especially false color. Adding all of these not only makes a strong competitor against all the mirrorless cameras but also the BMPCC 6K Pro!

It’s a good sign when people are asking for a cinema camera to be made rather than hating on the camera
I wish so badly that Fuji would release a purpose built cinema camera. Internal ND and all the other bells and whistles in a box style camera would be so amazing
I'm with you here. And, there is still room to innovate so it is not following the footsteps of other manufacturers who are doing box style cameras.
@@CineD For sure, but body style in my opinion doesn’t need a whole lot of innovation. It’s all about the internals and for years I’ve said that if we could get Fuji colors in a cinema camera, it would be game over. I’d probably sell my Red 😆
@@frannyfranman Well, if you don't want to be seen as a "me too" company, you better have a few innovative functions under your sleeve. But all in all, we agree that such a camera can benefit FUJIFILM and we are doing our best to communicate this with the company itself. Thanks again! Johnnie
@@CineD Actually the more I think about it, the more I agree with you. It’s such a competitive market. For Fuji’s first cinema camera they wouldn’t be able to cut any corners and they’d need to make something that was both immediately recognizable and catchy/innovative. No easy task. I’m easy to sell on this idea: fuji color in a cinema body is a no brainer for me. Not everyone will immediately feel that way
"At the current moment we can't do a desqueeze in the camera, but it's something that is definitely on the roadmap." How amazing would it be to have a BSI Stacked 100s version opengate camera to shoot with anamorphic lenses as a hybrid photo/"cinema" camera? Can't wait for the 40 megapixel X-H2 now.
Can we take a moment to appreciate Victor's honest answer at 4:56? Took me by surprise to be honest. I was half expecting a BS wrapped in marketing speak. Thanks, Cine D. Gotta say, as an X-T3 shooter, this is the first camera I'm compelled to upgrade to.
CineD, just gotta say, I love y'all so much. Thank you dude for doing what you do and helping out filmmakers such as myself stay informed while asking *genuinely* great questions. Hopefully one day we get a little Fujifilm cine camera, like the size of the Komodo but meant for indie creators.

Good job Johnnie as always ! If they want to attract movie makers under 5M, Fujifilm should consider offering a 12 bit flavour ( h265 higher profile ?, prores 4444 ?) for 24fps. I'm pretty sure they can as the processor is surely fast enough and AD converter is 14 bit as stated by Mr Ha.

Do you need the Atomos Ninja V or V+ for the ProRes RAW capabilities in 6K ?
What about recording to SSD and smoother manual focusing?
Good interview. I just don't get this: why does the Fuji's new aps-c sensor need a bsi/stacked technology + new super processor in order to have on-par-with-competitors AF performances, when Canon's rather basic and not even bsi aps-c sensor on their new R7 seems to work damn good anyway?

I use an x-t4 to do video and was looking at another camera brand to expand for commercial work, but I will now have to reconsider.

Gerald Undone said the AF in video is still not reliable ...that is a shame I think. DP Review said the same. I hoping so much that this will be my next camera.

Idk about but I was expecting 6k with 60fps or 48fps and 30fps is not my type so yeah!
Who wants 6k or 8k if is it out of focus (even if it focus only 1% can run/edit 6k o 8k)... I am scary if the af improvement hasn't been huge

Give us high FPS (2K240P and FHD480P) in a firmware update, Fujifilm.
if this could benefit 5 million dollar budget productions. this will definitely revolutionize my 0 dollar budget amateur video
I would love to know if this can ever have 6k 60p in open gate. That would be the ultimate anamorphic setup, even a slight crop in 60p would be ok, however, having to shoot in 4k 16:9 for 60p when using anamorphic lenses is a no go.
I would have been more than happy to give an extra $1000 for the canon r7 to match the x-h2s. Unfortunately all my lenses are canon mount…otherwise take my money Fuji. I’ll pass on the r7 anyway.

6:15 that answer on 8k was long winded as hell.
He should have saw that coming and clubbed that with the previous answer with the Q on internal pro res and B raw recording.
Too bad that 12 bits is not internal. It's obvious that the hardware could have supported it. I was waiting for an APS-C camera with REAL autofocus (CHECK) able to provide internal 12 bits internally (FAIL) since I'm an indie filmaker on the go. Please FUJI consider a 12 bits internal recording (prores RAW and/OR BRAW) even a paid option. Indie film maker have the choice between blackmagic and canon R5C for internal serious recording. Fuji could fill the gap. Our goal is to travel light with a kit lense and a 1.2 or 1.4 prime for portraits. Period. We don't want to add an external recorder to that ...
12 bit it like driving a McLaren in a downtown metro city.. yeah it's nice and cool but overkill for dynamic range capture especially when the XH2S already can record 6k externally 422 10 bit
8:18 I love Fuji but this is ridiculous then its for an extra $200.. Price aside the accessory looks like a toy.. just build the fan into the camera!

Love the camera and what Fujifilm has provided. But the representative, with all due respect, is atrocious. All the answers are just going around in circles. You ask about 8K and he gushes about the speed of the menus. You ask about upgradability from XT4, and he talks about regional markets and "stepping into it". He seems like the last person in the company you want to talk to about the camera. Thanks for the interview and asking those pertinent questions, Johnnie! CineD is fantastic as always
I'm still waiting for someone to ask of Fujifilm; "Why have you moved manufacturing to China?". It started with the X-T3, then every X-body since. Because of this, I'll keep my X-H1, and just recently purchased a Nikon Z6ii. I will not be investing more money in Fuji gear. Very disappointed in this move by the once great Japanese manufacturer....
So the AF still sucks in video? But no problem it records in ProresRAW? Oh dear.
Question is very clear but not the answer...
Video autofocus is not good, for still camera is fine. How the hell it is going to help to film video in comercial when video autofocus is not working or reliable.
I think there is limitation that fuji cant improve further

AF is not bad…not good as sony and canon but not bad…
At this price range you have:
- sony a7 iv = FF great AF but mega crop in 4k60, mega bad rolling shutter, no dci format, no prores internally and no raw externally…
- gh6 = very bad AF, lower DR…

After all the hoopla and blitz, let's face it, Fujifilm is THE most boring mainstream camera maker in the world (I leave people like Pentax and Olympus out of the equation, because there, any comments aren't even worth it). The lack of excitement and wow for their new products year after year is depressing. They are stuck with the same problems they can't solve, bringing nothing new to the table, stuck in an APS-C format that has basically no advantages performance or size-wise anymore, and with gargantuan pricing that makes choosing FF a no brainer. APS-C will never be able to challenge larger sensors, these Fuji Cameras NEVER focus properly on video and today you have FF entry level cameras that beat the Fuji is size, price and performance. Sorry, this stopped makes sense a long time ago. Thanks for the video :)
You know that the vast majority of films in the history of cinema was shot on Super35?

ARRI has just released a camera stuck in the APS-C, WITHOUT any AF whatsoever. BTW it will cost €65k+ taxes
