- I wanted to take you with me on the whole day watching a titanic Test Match between South Africa and Ireland that didn't disappoint. But more than the rugby, all the people, sights, sounds, beers, brandys and braais. A crazy day.
This guy was a simple youtuber, look at him now. So impressed, being treated like rugby royalty, getting back stage passes, seat on the field. Very well deserved!
Coz he says it as it is, no beating around the bush... strait, honest and objective!
He was more than a simple youtuber; you must be new here.
@@riri1718 I'm sure he was referring to him when he first started the channel. I subbed when was on about 10k and he wasn't doing many live reports back then. But all deserved for sure. He's easily the best rugby channel around.
Lekker eggman!
That took a lot of work....also.... That day at Loftus was also a lot of work. Not to mention the editing afterwards.
Tim , honorary South African 🇿🇦.
Love the Irish fella at the end. Good bloke! 🇮🇪
Class is the Irish default setting - wherever you see them - crazy hikes in South America, beaches in Goa, rugby games
@@WilliamHarrisZA Love the Irish! I'm a Bok fan and have loads of respect for those lads 🇮🇪
Went skiing with a group of Irish and they were the freandliest bunch. Couldn't escape the compliments and friendliness even when I was falling my ass off and holding the group back. Very nice people.
Yeah.. I'm in Ireland, and what you see on social media is not representative of the real interaction between us and the Irish.
He said it.... Hulle Weet nie wat ons weet nie... Once you visit south Africa you know it's only a few online trolls that give us a bad name abroad.
Eggchasers South African fan base is massive.
Eggmasters needs to move to SA 😂
You've just done more for SA tourism in 15 minutes than what the minister has done in 20 years.
The Irish fan at the end summed it up perfectly. South Africans are poorly represented online / social media by a small group who are the noisiest. I wish people could see the true representation of SA fans. Thanks for showing some of this Tim.
If the South African we're respected after the world cup. They'd be humble but we've been dealing with nasty comments from all of them and you want us humble and quiet, givr us a break. Even now the Irish are crying ref and tmo.. ill never respect them. Never
I think part of the problem is we're easily triggered into "standing up for ourselves" and any trolling that gets aimed at us always gets a reaction.
Kiwi watching and enjoying all the vids and interactions. Enjoying the now rugby, looking forward to the rugby championship.
@@brettfleiner4906we're to protective of our team. Any negative talk we jump
You and TwoCents best channels on RUclips. Thanks for repping us English so well 🏴
Can also totally recommend Wildkard Rugby..
Squidge is awesome too!! Id ssy the three of you. Love watching 😁 Thank you
Totally bongers! Never miss an eggchasers video 👍👏
Two cents is a nice channel too 👍🏾
Much better rugby channel than the breakdown, man i cant stand Sir John Kirwan, and I cant wait for the rugby championship, we need to beat the All Blacks with the 2 tests in SA,
Supersport please offer Tim an anchor role in his own show to keep him in the country
An Irish rugby player, John Robbie, liked it so much - he decided to stay & make South Africa his home!
I love the way almost everyone said ‘I watch your channel’, yes, but do they subscribe? Also one fan said ‘I watch your channel, EGGBOXES’ 😂😂😂😂😂
Was hilarious!! Hahaha!!
I think he said Eggmaster.
Brandy brain
Great video Egg Master. Enjoy Durbs. Make sure you get a Bunny Chow.
Eggmaster...I reckon he needs to change to that permanently lol
Jonnis rotis
@@alistairclifton1286 hahaha 🤣🤣
I was gonna say the same 😂
Thisss!! ⬆️
Thank you for what you are doing for rugby. You are growing the game..
End of the day, Rugby wins..👌👌
Love the Irishman at the end!!!
Tim! Thanks for being such a great advocate for South Africa. You can’t imagine what it means to us🙏🙏🙏🏆
The last guy's comments about South Africa... Show he knows Afrikaans women very well😂. Give that man a Bells
I abslolutely love the way we embrace Tim in SOuth Afica, his authenticity is so appreciated. Keep up the good work.
Tim you’re an honorary South African now. Very rarely bestowed.
What makes this so cool is a passionate guy can make rugby videos from the spare bedroom in his house, with tens of thousands of us enjoying the content. And then he gets recognized and put pitch side. Damn cool!
Hi Tim, huge huge fan of your channel since the RWC'23.I've never been to Loftus before, and this video has just made me envious of what it's really like when the Springboks win. The party atmosphere and cordiality between opposing fans is something to behold. And I wholeheartedly agree with that Irish man's sentiments about the banter and trolling of fans online. It's exactly what it is, just banter. South Africans are just a friendly bunch of people who are beyond passionate about their rugby and beloved Springboks. FYI, I managed to get a ticket with a group of my close friends to watch the ALL BLACKS VS BOKS at Cape Town. Will be my very first time of watching these two great rivals play each other. As you've probably read online, those tickets are like gold and scarce as hens teeth. Sold out in matter of minutes, but we bought ours a few months ago, when the suite tickets became available. Hope to run into you there in September. Again, love your unbiased and factual perspective on the game. Keep up the good work and may your channel continue to grow. You're a great ambassador not just for the game of rugby, but also our beautiful country.
Boks v AB matches are always an event. I managed to bet to Wellington for the game South Africa won 36-34. Westpac Stadium isn’t quite Loftus, but there was still a great pregame vibe including NZ BBQ vs braai stands with rosemary-lamb sausage dogs up against those made of boerewors…..Excellent stuff and an unforgettable match.
Lets get Tim to 100k !!!!🎉
Im a South African that lives in Manchester and I would have given anything to be there. I hope my fellow South Africans looked after you and made you feel welcome 🇿🇦👏🏻
For the first proper rugby match game in SA to be apart off, Loftus truly paints the picture. Pretorians go HARD.
Yes, we love our rugby. 💪🇿🇦🏉
pretoria is to SA rugby as brandy is to coke. one can go without the other, but it kinda sucks.
hi from cape town
Welcome to the spirit of South Africa Tim!!!! This is who we are and this is the meaning of the sign "Hulle weet nie wat ons weet nie". Translated it means "They don't know what we know". And for me that means, they don't know what it means to be South African.
Once South African - ALWAYS South African
You should get sponsored by South African tourism board. Your trip is the best advert for South Africa I have seen in years!
And they wanted to give money to tottenham FC, rather to Tim🙏
I went to the game at Loftus with a Welsh friend who was wearing his red jersey when Wales lost to the Boks by 95-3 odd. He didn't buy a beer all night as Afrikaners were coming up to him all night after the game saying "ag shame man, let me buy you a beer..."😆
Great shout. Irish lad at the end was class. We just love our Boks as they bring our country together like nothing else for 2 hours. Bravo Tim, keep up the great work. Come back to Cape Town in September for Boks vs All Blacks.
Brilliant move by Loftus management to give Tim a well deserved ring side seat.
Hey bud as a South African Im so happy that you got to experience and share such an awesome atmosphere and the hospitality in our back yard. So amazing its not worth not sharing 😁👊🏼
We told you that you’re going to have a wonderful time in South Africa. The Irish fan was right, South Africans are incredibly friendly when you meet them in person. The online negativity is just misguided.
Just friendly banter :P
Rugby is escapism. It takes us away from the daily grind and put us in a different space for a short while. Within this context, Tim's channel is the best around. Love this guy. Always respectful, so informative, easy to make friends with. It is a pleasure and an honor to have you here, you have made thousands of followers in SA.
As far as the game is concerned, the big calls tonight went against Ireland. They could just as well have won. The lesson for us is to shut our yaps on the day that the tight calls go against us. The Irish are just such contenders, the second test is going to be a monster!
and to stop overrating our players like pollard almost cost us the game
@@subbie5498 That is a bit unfair on Polly. He had an off game for sure, but the guy is only human. He'll make up for it in Durban.
@@Chris____zzzzz but libbok is not human ofcourse and is not allowed one bad match
@@subbie5498 Rassie kept him for the semi after a good performance in the quarter. Unfortunately he had to be subbed in the semi because it was a high stakes game. But the fans were too hard on him for sure.
@@subbie5498 Manie is a classy player, he will play for the Boks for years to come. We are now sitting with a nice problem though. At the flyhalf position we have Manie, Handre, Sacha and Siya Masuku from the Sharks, all amazing players. Man, SA rugby is in a great place!
One For The Road! 😂
You're officially a SAFFA now Tim 😂
Enjoy the gees on the remainder of your stay to our Beautiful SA....
PS... if you don't visit CPT you'll do yourself an injustice....
I hope you enjoyed south Africa I'm very proud of our people we have so much love and spirit and the national anthem did bring me to tears. I really do wish for our country healing and restoration in our communities and life's so many people need help.
Come on South African Rugby fans lets get Tim to one hundred thousand subcribers before he leaves our shores.
Had no idea there were so many Saffas following your channel, also been checking your reporting since RWC 2023. Why do we like you? Guess because you're a great treat to watch; you're fair; you're better than a lot of broadcast crap we get to see; and you share a global passion. Now when (not if) you get that BIG SPONSORSHIP DEAL get yourself a pad here in South Africa. You haven't even experienced summer yet...Best still to come. Wait for Cape Town! Love the vote for honorary South African.
Tim I'm so happy you're getting to experience Springbok rugby. I've said it before but you're so good at capturing the spirit of rugby on your channel. 👏👏👏👏
In an American living in Johannesburg- watching rugby in Pretoria is a trip! Fantastic and crazy experience- go springboks!
Love this unique perspective!
50K brandy-loving fans attending may need it too.
"Loftus DJ does Loftus things" 😂
And not one fight or drunk sod after the game causing trouble! Only passionate, happy rugby fans at Loftus!
@@Wildlife_SA. wonderful to hear. That nonsense is an awful look and a stain on SA's rep
My favourite rugby channel irrespective of which team Tim is discussing. Keep up the great work
Glad to see foreigners getting the local warm welcome. Been travelling in Europe a lot and can honestly say the hearts of South Africans are real. Miss my home and all my people, but I’ll be back soon!
Awesome you met DDP!
Been following you since the World Cup. Great to see the recognition you deserve. Welcome to South Africa
I love that the Irish-SA rivalry has grown, good for the game etc etc., but I most of all dig that Irish folks will come visit here for games and so on. Irish people are solid, love them. Cool how sports can bond people and stuff
Bro said "I make videos from a spare bedroom" (reality) crazy how the world has changed...
Brother, today if you want to become something it is all up to you. U invest in something meaningful, valuable and productive... your life will change.
@@siyasox4244 Facts 💯💯
Loved the closing remarks from the Irishman at the end.. Absolute class.. love from JHB..
We South Africans thank you for the coverage and respect you show us we send love and beer and a braai back!
Tim this is quality. I have man-flu, this is giving me life.
As a 🇿🇦 in Sydney, living under the pain of rugby league and afl dominance, this channel brings me such joy.
Sydneysider here. Tell me about it bru. The lack of Union here is probably the worst thing about this place 😢
Ireland were pulling huge moves in the scrum! Porter was coiling back, forcing Malherbe to over extend, i.e. he was denying the hit. Ref should have blown him for pulling down the scrum imo! Great to watch you enjoying the fruits of South Africa! If only we can sort out the political side, the country would blossom. Almost 20:1 Rand/Pound ratio - great value for money for tourists! And the rugby...there are some awesome rugby traditions here...glad to see you discover some of them. Cheers Tim, great coverage.
Awesome that you managed to capture the soul of South Africa and what rugby means to this place! Welcome back anytime
Your channel is amazing, its so great to see some interest in South Africa's rugby culture. I'm not sure if you are coming to Cape Town but you would really enjoy the rugby culture and rivalries we have down here. You've seen the North now come see the south, Western Cape is a Springbok breeding ground.
I looove this for you. One thing about South Africans? They will welcome you with open arms. Now you're travelling to the warmest city in the country, Durban! Enjoy!
Durban doesn't know what winter is
in capetown rn i think i want to move to durban its too cold here
@@subbie5498 the entire week it'll be miserable there in Cape Town, too cold!
You have been embraced, Tim - enjoy it.
I was, however, proud when in yesterday's video you reminded those you spoke to that you are indeed a proud English man.
It looks like you had a fantastic day & have cemented a beautiful relationship. It's great to see your channel grow (I've been here since way before the World Cup) as your content, knowledge, passion & fairness are second to none 🏴🇿🇦🏴🇿🇦🏴🇿🇦🏴
Good man, Tim! For those who have read Rassie's book, you will note with interest that he too states the Irish folk are pure class. I have an exceptional friend I met on business trips who is Irish. How he and colleagues treated me far from home has left an indelible mark on me. Now if only us Saffa's could be a little more magnanimous in victory!
Get this guy to 100k subs!!
Eegchaser am happy that you hospitality of South Africa in RSA we love seen guys like you doing the job you do and I can promise you that you have South African support all the way. Durban will be a blast as well. It will seem like another country there
Yes definitely. Durban born and bred but happily living in Pretoria- two different places but both great!
Tim, you are a legend. Great to see you experiencing the South African supporters, their passion and hospitality. I am sitting in the Netherlands, but your channel brings the experience home. Keep it up, and eat lots more Biltong!
While initially disgusted at the antics like booing the Irish team onto field, booing kicks, playing ‘Emotional Damage’ after Crowley missed. Playing Zombie at the end. But I’m starting to see it as more entertainment than disrespect now.
It happens with every single opposition team whether South African pro teams or International matches.. that Loftus... that's why they say it's hostile... but really the South Africans are very friendly people
People are usually drunk and just there for a good time. Don't take it personally, listen to what the last guy had to say.
The emotional damage thing was pretty funny. And I had initially thought they took on zombie because it's genuinely one of the best songs in the world and only found out yesterday they've been playing it to try and be toxic. The booing the team onto the field is what I've come to expect from them. We just need to get the next test over with and get out of there before anyone starts getting added to statistics.
Loftus is an extremely hostile environment, even for visiting provincial South African sides.
When Crowly missed his kicks did you hear the DJ playing “emotional damage” 🤣
...and when a scuffle broke out he played "Crazy little thing called love"❤ Thats how we won the world cup...lag lag😂 SA has a sense of humor...thats what we know that others dont. Glad Tim picked that up...Emotional damage👌 its all done in good spirit (gees)🙏
You need a sense of humor to thrive in SA...😂
@@MorgMorg-uf6psYeah and the DJ played that “ting, ting, ting” boxing bell sound for the start of a another round…when scuffles broke out on field 😊
I'm so happy you're having this experience right here with us. So well deserved. Thanks for the great vids!

Tim, you seriously are da man!!! Can someone pls employ you to do this all around the world. Wouldn’t it be amazing to see the same thing in Ireland, NZ, AUS, Argentina, Japan. Atmosphere before, during and after big games. Wow thank you for your wonderful contribution to rugby, your top content and giving us fans a closer look at so many things dear to our hearts. Can’t wait for the next videos. Go BOKKE 🎉
Aw Tim. Thanks so much for your coverage. What an awesome advert for SA. I hope we can get to host a RWC somewhere in the next 20 years.
I want more!!! Great vlog, only wish it was longer. Or longer segments chopped up into several videos. SA fan living in Sweden. Would be a dream to travel there and watch a game. Your video is the closest thing though. Thanks!
That gent in the end summed it up 💯 accurate. We love the Irish. Dam hard blokes just like us. The best bring out the best. Rugby for the win.
Thank You for honouring us with your presence. It was such a privilege to have you in our country 🇿🇦
Awesome video Tim...thank you for portraying our gees and love for rugby in SA
Best rugby channel on RUclips. And by proxy, the best South African tourism channel too!
Amen to that. SA tourism board ought to gave our man a big fat stipend! When he’s back for the RC matches with AB he’ll finally get to experience Cape Town, which will blow his mind even more I suspect.
Till nx week ,Us Irish dont give up that easy ,Things didint work out first test ,but we will show them lads from SA nx game ,Shame its not 3 test,s
Because your channel is neutral, objective and fair it is popular in SA. The crowd at Loftus can be very intimidating but they are also the most rugby informed crowd. So when there is a boo something happened or the player really irked the crowd. Owen Farrell a prime example. After the contact with Esterhuizen and getting away with it never forgotten. Hope you enjoy the Kings Park vibe.
😂the Irish guy at the end was Irish Walter White. Great guy 👍
Another awesome video Tim. In the hum of the Springbok victory, that try by Jamie Osborne has not got the airtime it deserves. That was a magnificent try, especially for a debutant against the Boks! #strongerforever
Hi Tim. I am glad you enjoyed your visit to Loftus Versfeld.
Great video Tim. I’m in Leicester not working today and out of bed and on my first brew watching your channel. Feels great soaking up the Loftus atmosphere . South Africans great people and you’re already a star over there . Reckon your nailed on for a invite to a Rassie barbecue. Looking forward to a full debrief 007 when your back home .
Tim, you experienced Loftus and what rugby and the Bokke means to us Saffas, You are such a great ambassador of the game.🙌
Tim, can I just comment sincerely and say, as a Saffer who’s lived 20 years in Australia, what an absolute delight it is to have discovered your channel, and your fantastic coverage of the Bok v Ireland series, and let me say it’s a delight to watch your journey and experience your first trip to SA through your eyes. 🫡
You sharing a bit of true SA rugby gees with us. Thanks Tim. We often braai at Affies before and after! Loftus rocks! My favourite moment of the game was Chessies try! 💪🏉 Respect to Ireland, formidable opponents. And how passionately the fans sang our Anthem! Wow! Chilling stuff. Good luck on your future endeavours Tim. C'mon Durbs, give us a spectacle too. Go BOKKE! 🇿🇦🏉🥇
"Everyone who is irish who is here, will be back" 😊
Tim, I really think he likes your channel!🤣
Yeah. He was not trying to answer any questions but he had 1 thing he really wanted to share lol
Tim! Loving your work and as a South African living in Northern Ireland it's been fascinating to see how this all plays out. Love your honesty. Bokke!!!!
What a fun day out, I sat with Bakkies hosted by pump and abrasion in a box not far from you Tim. It's a really fun stadium and atmosphere
Great coverage...feels like we were also pitch side. Your humble approach is what makes the show so likeable and not to mention objective supoort of the Springboks 🎉 we are not used to praise outside of South Africa 😅
There's this weird growing trend of Europe hating on our crowds and DJs at stadiums so it's nice to see someone getting it.
They're just jealous
They take things personally and we dont take anything seriously😂
That guy at the end summed it up really well. I think what people don’t understand about SA fans is we do banter, and can come across arrogant sometimes. But that only means we respect teams who can really beat us. The bigger the challenge, the more passionate we become. We respect Ireland, they’ve earned it, and the new rivalry is real. Exciting stuff! 🇿🇦 🇮🇪
