  • Super simple dutch oven bread can have any inclusions you'd like! I made a delicious sundried tomato and cheddar one before. Here, I did a four cheese blend with the cheeses I had on hand. I had jarlsberg (which is a cross between a gruyere and swiss), sharp cheddar, Asiago, and parmesan.
Mix up the dough the day before and let it sit overnight . Add a little more flour to form it into a ball the next day. Press it out and add in your cheeses. To a preheated Dutch oven, bake for 30 minutes at 450°F with the cover on. Remove the lid, top with remaining cheese, and finish baking for 30 minutes (uncovered)
This bread is fantastic on its own, with some soup, or made into a sandwich. So delicious, easy, and moist.
Dutch Oven Bread is perfect for someone who is intimidated by making bread, so versatile!
    Give it a shot.
The recipe I did was a double size because bread gets devoured in my house, but you can do a regular size loaf by doing a half batch.
    Dutch Oven Bread:
    6 cups all-purpose bread
    4 teaspoons dry active yeast
1 tablespoon salt (or 3 teaspoons)
    3 cups warm water
Mix and let sit overnight, let sit for 24 hours for the best flavor development.
Add 1/4 cup of flour and work into a loose ball.
*you can add any inclusions now if you'd like, or you can just bake it as is for a plain Dutch oven loaf*
    My cheese blend-
    1/2- 3/4 cup jarlsberg Swiss
    1/2-3/4 cup sharp cheddar
    1/2 cup parmesan
    1/2 cup asiago
