Fun fact: there was a deleted scene from while Seth is undergoing his mutation where he experimented the fusion on a baboon and a cat. The failure of a "chimera" ends up getting bludgeoned to death by the man/fly himself.
And just after that and the fly claw busting out and being amputated, there was supposed to be a script scene whete Brundle preys on a homeless women in the alley vomiting pn her with the corrosive enzyme. It was scrapped no cause of the brutality.
This is one of the rare horror movies that makes me cry at the end. Because of the subtext of having to let someone you love go to an illness, so tragic. This is an insanely good movie.

Jeff Goldblum gave a brilliant performance as Seth Brundle. The makeup effects was outstanding. Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis had great chemistry and the ending is one of the saddest endings of a movie ever. The Fly is a tragic love story.

You honestly brought me to this movie. I of course have heard of it before, and even watched the original, then I watched it. This channel of yours is a hidden gem.
Mr NewBee, I found your channel just a few days ago and I've been binging ever since. Initially just so that I could satisfy my morbid curiosity in a safe way without actually having to watch horror films.. I'm a big old wuss. Honestly, your calming demeanour is such a blessing for a scaredy cat like me! But truly your humour and hilarious editing and adorable cats have kept me clicking films that I've never even heard of. Your channel deserves to be so much bigger, and while it won't help much, I've been recommending you left and right since I found you. Thank you for being such a delight!

The movie officially turns 35 today! One of David Cronenberg's best, he always intended the movie to be a metaphor for aging and death but also works as a tragic romance Such dramatic music by Howard Shore, surprising it was produced by comedian Mel Brooks Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis' finest performances, they were actually a couple in real-life at the time The special creature effects by the late Stan Winston still hold up so much even won an Oscar Good amount of grotesque body horror but you also sympathize with Seth slowly turning unable to reverse the process; his identity starts to break down as well as his physical and biological appearance His obsession makes him into his own worst enemy Still one of my fav horror movies although I have yet to see the 1958 original

I remember watching this film as a kid and not exactly understanding everything that was going on, all I know is that I was truly freaked out by the gore. I was scared of Jeff Goldblum for a while. Now as an adult, I love this film so much. I rewatched it a few days ago and found myself crying like a baby at the end. Such a profound piece of work. Jeff Goldblum's acting is superb and he should have been nominated for an Oscar.

Such a brilliant movie. Love Cronenberg and, gross as it is of course, it’s a masterpiece of character building and storytelling. Jeff and Gina at the top of their game too. Solid 5 stars from me. The original is great too btw.
I had recently gone through a terrible break up not long before seeing The Fly and so I actually give credit to John Getz's character. Breaking up brings out the worst in people and they do and say outrageous things they would not normally. I totally empathized with Stathis. Getz nailed the part of the jilted boyfriend !
