used to be a cool spot at a completely demolished school so me and my mates built a ledge out of bricks and concrete, smoothed it down abit and added the metal, week later someone decided to destroy it lmao
thank you so much for this series. Me and my dad have been building a diy in our driveway, except out of wood. These videos have been super sick to watch because hopefully we will be able to build a concrete diy spot in the future and it also gives us inspiration.
Nice Vid but unfortunately you missed to explain something. What about the steel pins you drilled and fixed to the ground? I think this is a very important step… Have a good day🤘🏻
So when does thrasher go less big brother type @ headlines.. kids don't need crazy porn chat..so soon.. And I'm ok w hustler.. Ha..skate/ sex two diff worlds.. Way diff.
Pretty cool, but I would have staggered the bricks. It's solid, but to me it would be even more so if it were staggered. Just gotta use a couple half cinder blocks. Good work, & enjoy!
Cinder block and parking blocks, construction adhesive. Best shit to ever happen to someone in an area without great spots and the ones you do have are busts. Unfortunately my friends and I are totally inept when it comes to making shit with quikrete, so painting curbs and making cinder block ledges allowed up to have a spot. I just wish the township would give up a foundation with smooth concrete, make a few concrete obstacles like a pyramid and Manny pad, maybe a mini ramp and just let the skaters build the rest instead of making a park with prefabricated bullshit. I remember when we were trying to get a park someone seriously asked us why we couldn't mulch it in instead of concrete. Yes really. I knew we were fucked at that point.
I really hope this turns into the next Burnside. Such a nice spot! Where's it at exactly? Oakland is about 45 minutes away from me. Gotta check it out!
This still work as well without the rebar poles drilled in to the floor? You skipped that part so I'm guessing so, but wouldn't it perhaps be less sturdy and secure?
@@pkkaohi1 damn those county council people! But thanks, good to know. All the local diys have been smashed over here in the bit of Northern England where I live. Need to find a new spot soon
Great to see you guys helping young builders. But there is no way that dry filling cinder blocks will be anywhere near as strong as properly mixed concrete. Not even close.
im from oakland and i skater here on these obstacles like probably over a year ago, i remember hearing something about this spot getting torn out or something, is it still there or was this just filmed a while ago?
Is there a way to prevent or slow down the rust on the angle iron? i wanna build one of these at my local spot but it doesn’t have a roof and it rains a lot.
god bless the diy spot builders

fr man, sometimes diy beats park ngl
DiY is definitely part of the soul of skateboarding! 🤘
Could not agree more !!
I am not a big man anymore so I’ll try it on my own
Thrasher think you might want to engage Austin regularly, He’s a great presenter get him out front more.
Little man will be the king of DIY in the future!
Killing it Austin! ❤️🔥🤘
These diy videos are amazing - thanks for the inspiration!

Your dad is rad!
@@camtenna thanks dawg, im definitely lucky to have a dad that used to work in construction.

@@funkydankspliff thanks bro.
mixing wood with crete jobs on property is best of both worlds
I love the DIY videos. Makes me want to crack a beer a start helping
Hell Yeah
I've been playing Tetris my whole life preparing for this moment.
Yeah, until you finish the first layer of cinder blocks and they disappear
Nice Vid but unfortunately you missed to explain something.
What about the steel pins you drilled and fixed to the ground?
I think this is a very important step…
Have a good day🤘🏻
the rebar is an optional part that makes it sturdier
to anyone at thrasher reading comments, continue this series PLEASE

Dudes I could find this place easy enough but can someone give me a cross street? I will help clean up and build(///_-)
I wasn't expecting a name such as Ishod Wair to test it though
So when does thrasher go less big brother type @ headlines.. kids don't need crazy porn chat..so soon..

Austin stays making me want to build a bunch of shit even though I'm completely incapable of doing so...
Pretty cool, but I would have staggered the bricks. It's solid, but to me it would be even more so if it were staggered. Just gotta use a couple half cinder blocks. Good work, & enjoy!
Realistically, it doesn’t matter

This is dope content more like this
Make sure your fingers are safe when dropping the parking block please. With love.
Austin is the journeyman of diy spots
shoutout smoothies (RIP) near pittsburgh I wonder if austin built those ledges.
diy builder: seems like were not getting kicked out of oakland
Oakland: we don't give a shit 😆
Our local DIY got completely wiped out and our church spot as well
2:08 you should lay the blocks with an offset so that there is no X shaped cross joint but T shaped joints.
I really hope this turns into the next Burnside. Such a nice spot! Where's it at exactly? Oakland is about 45 minutes away from me. Gotta check it out!
By Chinatown in Oakland off 43rd Maddison but they tore it down
this is god damn amazing!! oh I use to go around with angle iron and glue it to curbs/ ledges around the city ROFL
Austin Kanfoush is a legend for these videos! (and his skating/life hammers)
You forgot to mention the rebar anchored in the asphalt otherwise keep it up
Stagger the blocks for extra strength.
Please do more of these
Haha i live in oakland and know this spot. Used to filled with homeless lol
Ok thanks we have to learn a float what about a dumpy
This still work as well without the rebar poles drilled in to the floor?
You skipped that part so I'm guessing so, but wouldn't it perhaps be less sturdy and secure?
Me and homies did it without concrete or rebar
Stacked vertical and with just liquid nails. Held up solid until the county knocked em down
I too would've liked to see that part. It could teach people too. Not everyone knows this stuff. Good comment-
@@pkkaohi1 damn those county council people!
But thanks, good to know. All the local diys have been smashed over here in the bit of Northern England where I live. Need to find a new spot soon
@@leet.honeycutt7314 ah well. Nobody involved will reply but the commenter above us suggests it'll be fine so just 'effin barge it!
What is the name of the construction adhesive? Specifications? I can't find it internationally
PL PREMIUM but any kind will do
Buat di copylas ni seru ytta
Love this and need more.
can i do it with 1 row instead of 2 ontop of eachother
W
lol, "here's how I get my stuff, I rob construction lots, you can too!" In no way will this be used in Kanfoush's court trial.
Finally, the create part is back
THRASHER COPIANDO SOBRESKATE

i built one of the curb ones back in the day at an elementary, it lasted a summer until the city tore it down :/
Great to see you guys helping young builders. But there is no way that dry filling cinder blocks will be anywhere near as strong as properly mixed concrete. Not even close.

Thank you for this series!
gotta love these videos
Lmfao i love how thrasher is implicitly supporting something that the city would otherwise find illegal. 😆 this is fuckin great
Depends on your city. Some cool cities will even help with the place and make it legal. But there arent many of them.
@@komoonkh that requires asking the city tho... that's not really how this sort of diy stuff really works haha
keep austin on these
