"Fare Thee Well Love" was written and composed by Jimmy Rankin. The song was a career-launching hit for The Rankin Family, the multi-platinum Celtic-folk-pop band from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia who led pop music’s “Celtic wave” of the 1990s.
The song was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2020.
