That soundbite by Ozzy "hes playing this game like hes playing with god, but hes not, hes playing with human beings that are greedy and want that money"... literally most socially aware ive seen ozzy be, in his entire survivor career lol
Yeah, Ozzy isn't known for his social or strategic game. He was a one trick pony, and that was winning immunities.
I’m surprised he didn’t use the word microcosm lol
I don't know if you can really call Brandon flipping on his tribe 'dumb' when he outright acknowledged that it could send him home, but chose to do it anyway because he found the alternative worse. Not so much a dumb move or a mistake as much as a change in his priorities
I agree soooooooo hard with this. This has always bothered me. Especially the way they all talked about it after like Ethan and Lex talking mad sht on him after he saved their asses.. I wish Brandon would have went to them and just been completely real and straight up and just say "listen.. I cannot help this homophobe get farther into this game" like I wish they would have realized that was one of the big reasons behind what he did.
Yeah, calling his tribe "long time allies" in this video is GROSSLY misleading. They all hated each other!
I'm a born again Christian and God is in my life all the time. But I believe Brandon is mentally ill. Not because of his faith but because of pretty much everything else. The guy needs help.
@@reginamachamer821 Bullshit, Big Tom was just as big of a homophobe as Frank. Brandon was an idiot, plain and simple.
He flipped on all of his friends, and blamed it on Frank being a homophobe while he flipped over to Big Tom who was a homophone, got voted out instantly after for being an idiot and because Big Tom didn't like him because he was gay. You couldn't be more wrong.
I think one underrated move is when Zapatera throws the immunity challenge to get out Russell Hantz in Redemption Island. Russell didn't have an idol, he didn't have power in the game, and he could've easily been eliminated at any point pre-merge or post-merge. If he wasn't out by the merge, you know Rob wouldn't have aligned with him, so this game was a dead-end for Russell from the start. Why rush to get him out? You just fed momentum to the Ometepe tribe, who ultimately held down the numbers advantage against you and picked you off once the merge happened. This desperate cannibalization of your own tribe just to take out a notably strong player ended up allowing another notably strong player to wipe out your entire team. Seriously, Zapatera might be one of the worst tribes ever.
Absolutely. Not only did Russell not have the idol, Ralph had it. Throwing the challenge then splitting votes was silly. Only took 1 person with a brain to flip and have another tyson elimination.
Plus they threw the challenge when immunity and reward was on line.
Tarp, chairs equipment etc. Zapatera stayed soaking wet the rest of season. Karma
"I got the message brother, I'll go when I'm ready."
I have a love/hate relationship with this moment. I love Probst and Colby and I just want them to be friends! LOL
Second, it's a great sassy line from Probst.
Funniest shit ever😂
Colby was being a dick lol
Anddddd colby sits out🤣🤣🤣
Peridiam, you should think about doing a “what if” video. For example: what if Erik wouldn’t have given up his necklace? What if Dominic would have challenged Wendell to the fire making challenge? What if Tai would have played his idol for Scott? Etc, etc
JD Frazier I wonder if Erik would have been able to win the final immunity challenge if he made it there. That challenge, an endurance challenge that requires the players to stand still and focus, was different from the other challenges Erik won.
Erik gets voted off before final 2 leaving Parvati and Cerci as final 2 instead of Amanda
Tai would of been voted off in the revote, thats not the right question, the right question are what if Scot played his idol forcing Tai to then play his, Aubry gets voted off and its a whole new game.
Answer to the second one. Angela would have been a millionaire. 💸💵💴💶💷💰💸💵💴💶💷💰
that sounds good
I think Laura's move of telling her whole tribe that Vytas is the next to go is a top 10 underrated dumb move. It was sooooo preventable.
It's FvN definetly
It's FvN I was going through the Comme be to see if anyone mentions this!
Aras did the same thing in Panama so it’s not necessarily as dumb as these others
She was just trying to be nice but because she was already a loved one on a tribe full of returners it was the straw that broke the camels back
It didn’t actually affect her too much. Vytas was in a pregame alliance with Tina and Katie so Laura was likely going anyway
In the ending scene of Colby saying he wants to get to the challenge, you should have shown Colby sitting out right after
Lmaooooo golden moment
I really think Lex voting out Jerri over Amber in All Stars should be on here, it lost him, Kathy and Shii Ann the entire game, and I don't feel like it's brought up enough tbh.
I wish I could upvote this one more; easily worse than even the one's listed in the video (no offense, Peridiam); From what I remember (with Jerry), Lex would have been in a great position with a tie going into the merge and let that fall because Rob said something like "I protect you if you protect her". This was an all-star season, eight seasons in, so very little should dissuade anyone that this was anything other than a legendarily dumb move.
Mogo Mogo was still down 4 people to 5 in the Merge if Lex had kept Jerri over Amber, and he would've incurred the wrath of Rob had he voted Amber out. It was a lose/lose situation.
Craig Resendes yeah but rob got Rupert and Tom to fight, one of them might flip to get the other one out
Also Alicia might have flipped knowing she might have been on he bottom
This isn’t an underrated dumb move though....
That wasn’t even the dumbest move Varner made in his survivor career... *cough* game changers 😬
Shane Cupp also second chance
Yeah but he was focussing more on the underrated moves
Don't forget his bozo pre-game move before Second Chance, which IMHO was that he showed up SO overweight and completely unprepared for Survivor's physicality.
Varner: "there was nothing I could do about it."
You mean BESIDES WINNING THE IMMUNITY THAT YOU THREW FOR PEANUT BUTTER?
I think Kenny from Gabon should be here. He was pretty much dominating the game until he voted out his own alliance member (I can't remember who) and then the whole "If you feel guilty give me your immunity necklace if you win" thing with Bob. (sigh)... i was really rooting for him, being the underdog and a gamer and all...
he voted against matty but he voted in the minority
Candice Flipping in h vs v should be on here. She was not on the bottom of the heroes and if she stayed put Sandra would have flipped, Russels idol would be flushed, and the villains would have been picked off one by one, and she would have had a great chance of making it to the end and winning because she had little blood on her hands, while meanwhile she knew for a fact she would be on the bottom of villains and she was voted off right after Amanda and if she did make it to the end evrybody hated her.
You're wrong, Candice was at the bottom of the Heroes, she was getting 5th with them had they been final 5, they didn't trust her because she was so close with Cirie in pre-merge, so yes Sandra flipping may of saved the Heroes, but Candice is still on the bottom of the Heroes with Sandra if Sandra flips, so Candice was kinda in a lose-lose situation imo.
Well that's what Candice said in her interviews, and on why she flipped. Maybe Amanda would've taken her to the final 3, but from Candice's perspective she was on the bottom with the Heroes regardless.
THGQueen Just because there's an argument to be made doesn't mean that it's a good one, just saying
4 of the dumbest moves in Survivor history happened in HvV:
1. Tyson essentially voting himself out.
2. JT giving an idol to the opposing alliance.
3. Candice flipping.
4. Russell getting rid of Danielle when she would easily be one of the best goats to sit next to in the end.
THGQueen This thread is extremely important. Queen Candice af.
PERIDIAM PLEASE UPLOAD MORE OFTEN.....I CANT WAIT EVERY WEDNESDAY!!!
During the season once a week is good, but I think we would all love if Peridiam could do more during the off-season. Obviously these videos take a lot of work to make and I understand if he can't do more than one a week, but it would be awesome if he could!
I mean to be fair, Brandon at least has the excuse of "I'd rather sink my own ship than help guide the ship of a homophobe." It's a game yes, but I can understand why he wouldn't be able to look past how Frank treated him. That kind of stuff goes beyond anything acceptable.
Another little known fact about SoPa, Brandon almost beat ozzy in that redemption dual. No, really. Ozzy has talked about the fact that if Brandon was in a better head space and had held on for 30 more seconds, Ozzy would’ve dropped and Brandon would’ve gone back into the game. Sooo basically Brandon had two chances to win the game and blew both of them
Wouldn’t Penner not agreeing to a final 4 with Lisa and Skupin be a dumb move? If he were to have taken the deal he might have made it to the final 4 or even the end. Since Abi won immunity at the final 7, Denise or Malcolm may have been voted out instead, making it play out but instead Penner and Carter are in the final 4. That means Penner could have had a 50/50 chance of making it to the end where he might have won. They could get rid of the challenge beast with no enemies or the strategic influential returning player. That’s just what I think.
The fact that Varner has the nerve to blame Kimmi for him going home after willing leaving the challenge just shows how arrogant he is. I mean yeah Kimmi certainly didn't do him any favors.. but after so colossally fcking up how are you gonna sit there and act like it's all someone else's fault?
A parks reference in a survivor vid???? Sign me the hell up.
When
You could do a video about the best "fallen angels". The people that come up just short of the final 3 or 2 (that the audience loved and the people we wanted to win that season), like Malcolm from Philippines, Spencer from Cagayan, etc.
yes!!! plus kelley from second chance!
There's a list somewhere called Day 38 Club or something..
Abigail that’d be good, so many good players get voted out right before final tribal
It's been reported that Kelley is coming back for season 38 - a team captains season, along with Joe Anglim, David Wright, and Aubrey Bracco
Most fans I know, including myself, wanted Tony to win, and were very happy to see it happen. Sure, Spencer was the most tolerable player on the Brains tribe, but unfortunately, that's not saying much.
What about Keith getting his son voted out by yelling "stick to the plan!" In blood vs water?
Omg I totally forgot about this moment! Tf what was he thinking?! 😅😂
#1. Chris Noble not playing his idol
Even after overhearing Dominics voting confessional he still didn’t play it.
Or the fact that he brought like 10 people to the well that he wasn’t even close with and expected them all to follow his voting instructions lmao
A better Africa double bill would be that same episode as the Brandon flip, where Lex pisses off his ally Kelly by targeting her after wrongly accusing her of casting a vote against him (it was actually T-Bird), and as a result, Kelly flipped and almost got Lex voted out, and if it wasn't for Brandon flipping, it would've happened.
Agreed, Lex played terribly in the final ten and final 9 votes and he was super lucky that Brandon was a bad player. Lex almost caused his own eliminations with his paranoia and terrible social play.
Yes. Goddammit Lex control ur rage.
Omg I didn't think about it before but Ozzy was present BOTH times someone has given away the immunity necklace
Actually Jenna Morasca did it too
looking at Outback Varner looking young and fine made me think... i really want to try apples and peanut butter
You know, after all these years it just seems so bizarre that back in the day you had no real way to save yourself at Tribal Council.
I'm gonna need history books written about how Brandon was the biggest jury threat of South Pacific because is the first time I hear about it.
victorthepenguin The edit didn’t show this but he was likable to other people and was a very hard worker
Late as hell response, but Brandon was considered more likable than the remaining contestants. Nobody liked or respected Coach, Albert hadn’t proved that he deserved the victory, and although Sophie was likable, she really wasn’t a huge player throughout the season. Sophie basically won for the same reason that Natalie White won in Samoa. Not because she was the best player, but because the two people sitting next to her were so universally hated
@@SonicGlitchmaster1 Thank you! But it's been so long I don't even remember Brandon right now. I haven't watch the season in a really long time.
While Lex was able to survive the final 9 vote, he really should be included here from a gameplay perspective. Not only did he target one of his tribe members at the final ten vote, Clarence, he then lead a witch hunt against the person who voted for him at the final ten mistakenly targeting Kelly instead of the actual person which was T-Bird. The whole reason Kelly flipped to the Samburu's was because Lex was targeting her and she made the correct play of flipping. If it wasn't for Brandon being a bad player, Lex should have gone home at final 9 and boy does that change survivor history with him, big Tom and Ethan probably not being invited back to All-Stars.
I had just watched Season 3 because of your video on what seasons to watch before viewing Winners at War, and saw your part 1 to this series. I started thinking about Brandon's move while watching the video, which I told my mother about because it was so ridiculous, and I am so glad you started off this video with it. It was so stupid, because he would have made it at least one round farther than he would have if he was in with the other four from Boran. Ironically, he didn't even make it as far as the final five, but if he had stuck with Samburu, he would have made it to the final four, and probably further given how quickly everyone turned on Frank after Brandon was voted out, which he would have made worse considering his own dislike for him. After that, he would have only needed to beat Theresa and Kim in an immunity challenge. While both of them may have been capable of beating him, he would have been so much closer to winning had he just thought things through and not been so stuck up about Frank. I don't know if he was being petty or actually thought that was a good plan, but either way, his plan was ridiculously stupid.
i think brandon was treated a lot worse by frank then they actually showed on the show
‘I think this dumb move comes from a place of arrogance and a haphazard disregard of the implications his move had.’
The exact same sentence applies to him outing Zeke at TC 16 years later. Some people never learn.
All those years later and he learned absolutely nothing in-between. Remarkable.
lmfao. I seriously need a continuation of this where you highlight awful gameplay that is often unacknowledged in Survivor history and drag tf out of them
In the HvsV season every time the heroes do what James said. Those were dumb moves. Voting out Tom, voting out Stephenie. Even voting out Cirie. Im sure that if Cirie was in the game when JT had the idea of giving the hidden immunity idol to Russell, she would totally wake him up from that fantasy.
In the pre-merge they voted off three great players whi had the brain the remaining five lacked.
You are the best survivor channel. Hand down. Congrats, you've cornered the market.
i know i've harped on it before, but i'm gonna harp on it again....Gabon, Marcus, second tribe swap, his alliance (who worshipped him like a God) had the numbers on both tribes, but he throws it away for someone he'd never worked with up to that point due to some tenuous connection he might've had outside of the game. He was golden. He had the game in his hands. Maybe he still would've lost anyway, but that's not the point. For where they were in that game and the tribe makeup and the stragglers they were up against, he had the game in his hand. Aaaaand....nope.
Forgot about this but your right I remember watching this and think what is he doing. He could have honestly won the game if it wasn’t for this.
I suppose it is possible that Jeff jumped off at the final 10 on purpose to try and reverse-psychology Ogakor into thinking somebody else from Kucha had many more votes, but yeah, I doubt that given how hard Colby had to work to get him to jump.
As a gay man, I honestly don't blame Brandon at all. Living with someone like Frank would be awful, and I wouldn't want to do something that benefits his game. Brandon's alliance should have promised him that as soon as they had the numbers they would vote Frank off, but instead they treated Frank's comments as funny and liked having him around. As a result, Brandon probably didn't have warm feelings towards any of his alliance. Lex and Ethan seemed to be the guys that were standing up for him the most, so he wanted to work with them more. It's not great gameplay, but it's probably hard to take emotions out of the game when experiencing real life homophobia from a tribemate.
Agreed!! That stuff definitely goes beyond the game and it's kind of hard to work around someone who hates an entire group of people that you are a part of. I don't know if I'd be able to live with someone like Frank for so long, let alone work with him and possible get home close to a million when who knows if there's a chance that I could get it with other people instead
Exactly! We also need to remember that Survivor back then was a different time, where it wasn't all based on strategy. Brandon probably thought he would get a lot of hate from the LGBT+ community, if he didn't stand his ground against Frank. I think Brandon didn't want to be an alliance with him for personal reasons and to protect his public image (since Survivor was a more mainstream show at that point).
I dunno the show is full of examples of people setting aside their differences in pursuit of the prize. Richard and Rudy being the first. Do you think it was easy for anyone to drag Phillip the FBI agent through the game and live with him all day?
It's not even about tagging them with labels. Frank and Brandon were just two stupid people.
+Eager Turtle blah blah blah, enough with your SJW rambling. When you're in a game for a million dollars, you suck it up and deal with it. And those comments ARE funny, whether you like it or not. If you can't handle jokes, then you aren't suited for a game that is entirely based around lies, deception, and betrayal. So yes, Brandon was dumb. I can list off many Survivor players that had to put up with people that they couldn't stand but they did and it payed off for them
Yes because anybody who stands up to homophobia is just a rambling sjw aren't they?
Colby did NOT make a "dumb move" by taking Tina. It's important to note his entire purpose for going on the show, which was to help him break into the acting world and get his face/name out there. He was playing for his reputation, not for the money. He 100% made the right call FOR HIM.
I honestly have no idea if his acting career ever went anywhere or not, these days there is so much content everywhere.. TV, movies, streaming services, etc. so for all I know he could have a totally successful career that I'm not aware of lmao but regardless of whether or not it panned out.. that was his goal, and he made the right choice imo.
I remember reading about number 4 on reddit and I was disappointed in myself for not thinking about it sooner a a huge Survivor fan
yes i had no clue either. I loved Kim Powers. I wanted her to win
I'm so glad you picked on the Samburu shocking mistakes but even I didn't know that they had the ball in their court in the final 8 as well. I loved Kim Powers, Lindsay, Silas and Brandon. I was so shocked that Brandon sided with Lex over Kim - if he didn't win, I thought he would have wanted her to
I love me some Survivor Africa. The problem with criticizing Brandon's move is that we're applying a modern calculus to an old season. Brandon clearly had personal issues with Frank, and vice versa, and there was no way around this. We aren't at a point in survivor where looking past these kinds of issues for strategic gameplay is really a viable way to make decisions. We literally just witnessed a season in which Colby had a way to ensure he was a winner but chose to take his friend instead. We would NEVER see these kinds of decisions in a modern survivor, but in this age, I think its fairly common to make decisions based on your morals, values, and personal beliefs.
Think ahead just three seasons to Survivor Amazon where Jenna is so angry with Rob for betraying Alex at the final seven that she blows up his entire game and makes herself a target. Or even four seasons after Africa when Sandra voted for John at the final eight when Rupert was a clear target for elimination and she needed to vote for Darrah.
Maybe I'm just bias because I LOVE me some Brandon but I think this kindof move, and the move from the others that followed, made a lot of sense at the time. The kind of strategic play in early seasons is...spotty at best.
It amazes me that Brandon and Frank could not put aside their differences to work together in the game. People can say it was too early in the Survivor timeline to rationalize this, but Borneo had Rich and Rudy working together all game and Rudy was and still is a complete homophobe. Yet they put their differences aside and worked together and Rudy even gave Rich his vote to win.
There's a lot of instances like that, where people care less about winning than about screwing over people they don't like. Even Cochran is guilty of that, he's arguably the biggest superfan to ever play and yet at the same time was 100% never winning the game as soon as he voted for Keith. And no, I don't think it had anything to do with him being afraid to draw rocks. I don't even think Cochran goes out 6th in his alliance. Ozzy will be cut whenever he fails to win immunity and Jim was actually planning to take him to the end as a goat.
As for Sandra she had no idea Rupert was a target and thought the consensus was that the vote was going to be unanimous on Darrah so she threw her vote away thinking it wasn't necessary. If Sandra or Christa had known Rupert was a target they would have said something to him. I think they did that earlier that season at the Trish boot.
It's true that at this early point in the Survivor timeline that asking Brandon and Frank to work together was a hard sell. You'd think for a million dollars though they could just put aside their differences and vote out the Boran alliance, you don't even need to vote them all out immediately, just cut Frank once you don't need him anymore. All Brandon did was prove to be untrustworthy to the point that not even the Boran alliance wanted him around, so they got rid of him (easy to get the Samburu on board since Brandon just flipped on all of them) and then waltzed into the final 4 unopposed. I do wonder how much shit would have changed if the producers didn't screw up the final 4 challenge.
Rudy and Rich are a weird case for me. To this day I don't think Rudy likes Rich at all, he's said some homophobic things about him during the show and after the show. I don't think much of it is ignorance as if my memory serves me right I think he's also racist. I seem to remember him saying something along the lines of "if he's not gay he could have other problems like he could be black or something." Maybe I'm misremembering this and if so I apologize. But either way he went on Survivor with the guy almost 20 years ago you would think maybe his perception would change but I guess not. Yet he was able to put aside his differences and work with him for the benefit of his game and he was within one mental lapse at FIC of winning the whole thing.
People failed to work together all the time, even in modern Survivor. Cochran is the obvious example but what about Tocantins? Timbira had a 6 to 3 numbers advantage after Joe got medevaced into the merge and Coach/Debbie/Tyson were unwilling to work with Sierra/Brendan. The 3 Jalapao members all made final 4 and 2 of them sat at FTC.
I am getting slightly off topic here, but I think modern Survivor needs more people moments like we saw in the earlier seasons. Nowadays it's all about big moves and advantages and heck you can't even get voted out at F4 anymore. The worst part is Probst seems to be buying into the fact that this is what the viewers want. I would have thought they learned from Cirie being eliminated due to NOT having an advantage at F6 in Game Changers but then Ben gets practically gifted idols and a saving grace by the producers at F4 who basically blindsided all the contestants with the firemaking challenge. It didn't give us a good winner when someone wins like that.
For the most part, now decisions in Survivor are more based on strategy than morals, but in Cagayan, just 4 years ago, Woo took Tony to the end over Kass because of morals and not for strategy. But I do agree that the value of strategy in making decisions was much lesser than it is now.
Yeah Woo's an idiot for doing that, I also give a nod to Tony for that move.
Tony basically told Woo that his game centered around honor loyalty and integrity. He then goes on to tell him that if he votes him out of the game, that he will not have any case to argue in front of the jury and they'll give the vote to Kass. I truly think he managed to convince Woo that he could win against himself and not Kass.
BrettMKW yeah Tony played that well. Woo probably shouldn’t have done what he did, but that just shows Tony’s strong social game and also Woo’s lack of cognizance of that situation.
Maybe now you could make a underrated greatest moves!? I swear I was searching for it thinking it was a video I already saw LOL
love this channel
I thought it was equally dumb for Kucha to vote for Colby at that tribal council. Did they really think anyone from Ogakor voted for Colby? They should've voted for Jerri as her personality clashed with people and that would provoke votes. Literally, any of the other options would make better sense than voting for Colby, the strongest tribe member and most likable.
Well Jeff was a strong member of Kucha, so I can understand why Kucha voted for Colby.
Clicked this 0.5 seconds after seeing it show up on my phone. I'll try and click quicker next time

Yesssss, I’m really into the discussion of smaller moments. The big ones are sometimes talked about so much there’s not much left to say. I forgot some of these even existed!
Me still thinking about how Ozzy and Jason didn’t play idols and went home in back to back episodes.
Your number one. Just rewatching this and thing Kim just did the same thing for Winners at War.
"at least you were taken out by Cirie and Parvati" lmao true
I cannot stand Rafe's "holier than thou" attitude
Peridiam that was a good video. Although I do wonder with Jeff and Kucha had they vote for Jerri instead of Colby who also had two known votes cast against her while Jeff had one that was known and another from Kimmi before she left that was never show to Kucha. Could that mean there would be a loophole where Jerri has more known votes so she Oulu still go home over Jeff. Even if Probst told the cast about the one vote that never showed it would still be tied and back then it would go to a quiz about wildlife. I have no idea If Jeff or Jerri win that mini-quiz but what do you think Peridiam
It’s funny to think that, if it was modern Survivor, the Africa situation could have been a bit different
Thank you for that Parks and Recreations reference Peridiam
Travis signaling to the men on the red tribe after the swap in Vanuatu to throw the challenge so more men would stay in the game imo should’ve been on here. It got him voted out instead of Rory (Rory the king)
I totally forgot about Brandon! I like this series, but I had a comment about part 1. Michelle in Pearl Islands chugging down the gross food wasn’t necessarily a bad move, because they would’ve lost anyway and went to tribal, and Michelle would’ve been voted out.
JM Marble Racing why do you say that?
anrick13 what?
I think Brandon not wanting to align with frank is understandable
Best RUclipsr. You should do a ranking of all survivors no spoilers
i notice another maybe dumb move or faliure at math move
Its at the merge of Survivor Caramoan with the Corinne vote off
Phillip is talking to Corinne about spliting Votes between 2 of the 4 member on the out in Eddie and Reynold but Corinne didnt want to split votes and wanted Sherri gone and was flipping on the main 7 allience
Now if Corinne Just Let them Split the Votes Lets say her, Erik Dawn and Cochrean Vote Reynold and Phillip Andrea Brenda and Sherri Vote Eddie Then Eddie, Micheal, Malcolm and Reynold Vote Sherri it be 4-4-4 and if Corinne then Flipped to the 4 boys
it would have been 5 sherri 4 eddie and 3 reynold and Sherri would have went home maybe the game would have been changed Idk
I don't think the people that are tied vote on revote.
"haphazard disregard" is the perfect description for Varner's game. 😂
I love the dive into Africa on this - I absolutely love that season, it's genuinely my fav, and I would LOVE to see so many of those cast members come back (who haven't already) to try their hand at things again. Brandon's game/non-game (and general demeanor) has always bothered me.
lol two Brandon’s in one video
ZP Survivor hi ZP
GHOST ISLAND REVIEW WAS BLOCKED!
UJust_GotRekt I know. 😢
Why was it blocked?
mountainonahill Probably CBS didn’t like what I had to say.
Peridiam what did you say😊
Totally forgot about the rule of past vote if ties. When they change it to Rock Draw? Maybe you should do evolution of survivor rules......from pass votes, to rock draw, to fire making challenge. Also include Idol power evolution.
Didn't expect it in the top 5, but maybe when Chet was voted out of FvF, given he voted for Erik, the 3 (Tracey, Ami & Erik) could have voted for Ozzy, being tied with the 3 that voted for Chet, having a tie 3-3-1. Then in the revote Chet and ozzy can't vote so it would be 3-2 and ozzy goes home
Another underrated dub move definitely was the salana giving away immunity as well as savage blindside in s31 not splitting the votes
Chet was injured and the tribe didn't want to lose both Ozzy to a vote AND Chet to a medevac. They felt it was the wrong time to boot their biggest physical asset, and I can't blame them for that.
Should make a video on best challenge comebacks and upsets. Also love the videos keep it up!
You should make a top 10 (more would be awesome) underrated Survivor players video! I would love to see that.
One that I think was a "great" dumb move was the game where first day they had School yard Pick and the guy who was eliminated due to jumping into the water way too far out and being gassed ...of course no one recalls his name like these bums since he went home so quick
Man your Top 10's are great!
I want to watch your videos but I am currently watching the seasons from the beginning (just got to season 3 and I loved the first two) and I don’t want spoilers. But anyways, I hope I like season 3 as much as the first two
So much survivor knowledge💯🔥
Could you rank plans that could have been amazing but were screwed up by someone( or something)
What about Survivor South Pacific where Cochran decided to switch on his team to forgo drawing rocks which in the end he didn't progress his game at all. He swapped based on feelings of being excluded rather of logic. Also, the same season all of the people who were in the alliance but not 1,2, and 3 in the alliance never having the balls to make a move until they "realized" they were going home. I think one of the dumbest thing you can do on survivor is to do nothing at all.
I completely agree, although I think Cochran's flip in SP isn't very underrated, which is why I didn't include it on this list.
Love your videos! But Lex's decision to vote out Jerri instead of Amber in All Stars was a terrible decision. Lex was bamboozled, and he should have seen it coming.
A few other mentions:
1. Ciera flipping on her alliance at 7, basically handing Tyson the game.
2. Ciera blindsiding Woo, thus dooming her own alliance (for a very dumb reason, if I may add).
3. Erik and Joel voting out Mary and Mike, over the obvious outcasts who were obviously gonna flip on them.
4. Erik, Natalie and Alexis voting out Jason, and then not splitting the votes in case Amanda has the idol. Jason wasn’t much of a player either, but it doesn’t change the fact that Erik, Natalie and Alexis pretty much handed the game to the favorites.
5. Garrett from Cagayan being extra bossy and visibly annoying the girls. Even Spencer, who was his ally, cringed at this.
6. Kass flipping on her alliance for no good reason.
7. Sandra giving her idol to Denise in WaW.
8. Sandra ignoring Hali’s warnings about JT in game changers.
9. The villains in HvV letting Russell keep searching for the idol, rather than trying to beat him to it and leave him defenseless.
10. Jeff Kent and Carter siding with Tandang after the merge for the sole purpose of not letting a veteran win (even though they had their chances for it before the merge), as well as Pete and his alliance voting out RC over one of the Kalabaws and over Malcolm and Denise. Both sides let their egos take over, which gave a massive opening to Malcolm and Denise.
Can't remember if it was Africa or Marquesa, but there seemed to be more people relying on 'pairs' rather than larger 4-5 person alliances. And when they did realize they were up against a 4-person alliance, they did not take steps to merge the pairs, which if I recall would have given them a 5-4 or 6-4 advantage. Just seemed so obvious but I guess alliances were still a new concept.
Feels like a giant leap in logic to say that Varner would have won that challenge had he not given it up for peanut butter. He could have just as easily lost as well without giving up.
It was a challenge all about will power. All Varner had to do was desire it most, which he should've given the information he had --- hence why his move is on this list. I don't think it's a giant leap in logic to get to that assessment.
@@Peridiam ah of course. My bad. Should've included malcolm's loss in final 4 immunity in Philippines then too. All he had to do was that immunity to win the game, but he dropped his marble twice. He should've known that he needed to win that challenge to win the game. Oh also, don't forget Terry in exile island, all he had to do was balance on that platform and he would've won the game. He should've known that was all he needed to do.
FaliggetFTW Those challenges were dependent upon a skill neither player were very good at nor likely physically capable of doing better than their competitors. Terry couldn’t will his way into weighing less nor could Malcolm will his way into having less shaky hands.
Varner’s challenge was to stand on a perch, something he was very capable of doing.
My goodness Peridiam how do you make such quality videos every single time?
Diane and G.B. eating the tribes food
witch Diane is the first person voted out!
How is this not on the list!
How is Cochran not on this list for flipping in South Pacific???!!! It was clear the other tribe were so "spiritually" connected that he would doom his entire tribe and finish 7th if he flipped, but his stern refusal to go to rocks in ANY scenario cost him the game. The odds were stacked 5 out of 7 in his tribe's favor to win the rock draw too thanks to the immunity wins and Ozzy's played idol. At the very least he could've told Ozzy he didn't want to go to rocks and to ensure he doesn't flip Ozzy should use his idol on him.
Can we talk about the fact that Monica Culpepper, in Blood vs Water, Final 5 vote is one of the worst ever? She had saved Gervase and Tyson the tribal before so they trusted her, she knew they had the immunity idol, and all she had to do was to praise their alliance. Instead, she said she was in the middle and felt bullied. That prompted Tyson to play the idol to save Gervase and basically she gives the game away.
I don't remember the names or the season . I know it wasn't s1 cause that's the only one I didn't watch. It was early on though . It involved a older white man and a young black man. It was a challenge where the older man could have won a pickup but made a deal with the young man. The young man betrayed him and won the pickup. Forgive if I got some things wrong
What this proves if anything, is that Amber is actually a mastermind. She convinced Varner to drop out of that challenge. 😂
I think Colby had an awful lot to do with that! And Amber and mastermind should never be used in the same sentence!
Jeff really is a fitting top choice. I was also baffled on Second Chance at his dumb move pre game. He pulled a total late career Marlon Brando showing up SO overweight and completely physically unprepared for the rigor of Survivor.
to be fair to Jeff, that immunity challenge lasted over 10 hours. as easy as it might sound to just stand that long physically, it's not. chances are he wasn't gonna outlast Alicia, Tina, or Keith doing that. also, couple things if Kucha had truly done some critical thinking mistakes could've been avoided. the fact they voted for Colby, not Jerri, who they could've had an inkling of previous votes. and if Alicia hadn't stepped off near the end of the challenge, she could've won immunity and gave it to Jeff. now, being season 2, most wouldn't be thinking outside of the box, but if they had, it could've been different...
Where would you rank Parvati not telling Russell about her second idol on HvV? Just my opinion, but that mistake was exactly what cost her the chance to win, because just about the only scenario in which she was winning a jury vote was in sticking with her original alliance of Russell and Danielle, and in giving an already paranoid player like Russell even more of a reason to not trust how close she and Danielle were, the Danielle vote essentially torpedoed her chances of winning the season (And no, I'm not saying it was a dumb move for Russell, because he was already at the point where he was losing the season even if he had stuck to his final 3 with Parvati & Danielle)
Whaaaaaaat I had no idea that Brandon even had a chance.. I can't even imagine a world where Brandon Hantz won and Sophie didn't. Especially after WaW. Damn that's crazy..
ok that Perd Hapley joke was 10/10
Waiting for the update when you add Lauren playing her idol for Chris on eoe.
no offense, but brandon’s move is perfectly understandable to any lgbt person. neither supporting harmful mindsets nor sacrificing our integrity is worth the cash prize.
If you can't get over hurt feelings to win $1 million, you're crazy.
I understand the Parks and Rec reference .
Does anyone know who won that season with Brandon and Frank?
Ethan
Brandon as a thumbnail gives me some terrors
Speaking of Varner maybe his other "move" in Game Changers could take the secret 0th spot on this list. I guess it's not really underrated though
AntiTrollSpray He would have been voted out any way
I could understand that you would jump if you got part of a cow or something like that but peanut butter? rly?
oh yeah, Rafe and Stephanie absolutely screwed themselves and it sucked cos I loved Cindy, and in the end, they lose to Dannii, omg so annoying
I think Ozzy and Aitu throwing the challenge in Cook Islands to get rid of Billy should be here
17:56 that look Probst gives Colby hahaha!
Omg 😲 love the Perd reference 😂🙌
How about Ian Rosenberger in Palau giving up the final immunity challenge and telling Tom to take Katie so they would be his "friends" again?
N. Turner I wouldn’t call that move dumb. Ian made a move intending to lose, which is more disappointing than dumb. Dumb would be Ian winning the challenge and taking Tom because he thought he could beat Tom, instead of taking Katie who was a lock.
I’m surprised Christy from Amazon isn’t on this list for refusing to tell anyone who she’s voting for and leaving it a “surprise” only for her to be unanimously voted out
I think the one of the dumbest moves ever is when Mike, Ryan, and Chrissy voted for Ben at the final 7 at HHH. In the episode, Devon, Ashley, and Lauren started in a tight knit alliance with Ben, but Ben heard them eavesdropping about eventually voting him out. Of course, this worries Ben, so he goes around and plots against them. Word gets back around to Devon, Ashley, and Lauren, causing chaos to ensue between the three of them and Ben. Lauren had an idol, and she gave Mike half of it to build trust, but he ended up throwing that half into the fire. This is what people view of the bad move of the tribal/episode/season: Lauren giving her idol up. And this, admittedly was an awful move; Lauren knew she was in danger so she should have kept her idol and played it at tribal that night. However, the underrated and under appreciated bad move is actually Mike, Ryan, and Chrissy voting for Ben. The three of them made the decision to keep Lauren in the game, which could only serve to hurt them. For one, Mike had just thrown 1 half of Lauren’s idol into the fire, which definitely would harm any sort of friendship or loyalty the two had. But the most important part of this is that Lauren had an extra vote, and everyone knew she had an extra vote too. If Mike, Ryan, and Chrissy vote for Lauren with Ben, they can weed out the extra vote which in turn keeps Lauren, Ashley, and Devon winning out in a 3-3 split. But instead, the three dummies decide it’s best for themselves to make one of the worst, game-wrecking decisions in Survivor history, giving a group of 3 the advantage over their own alliance. Sure, their votes didn’t matter in the end since Ben had an idol, but them voting for Lauren could create a facade of loyalty towards Ben, meaning they might have been able to blindside him, changing the horrid results of the season.
My biggest fear is to get voted out first
