These are the cool white (6000k) and 56 lumens.
This is by far the longest video I have ever created so I will go ahead and apologize for that now but it's hard to film with enough detail and keep things short. Hopefully this will clear up any problems or questions anyone is having and will be used as a good installation reference. I HIGHLY recommend doing this mod as it is relatively inexpensive and will be something you appreciate.
Double check the amount of lights you order is exactly the same as mine if that's what you're going for.

I just did all my lights on my 2014 Charger and they look great. Thanks for the video it really helped especially taking the lenses off. Great video. What was cool is I work about 1 mile from diode dynamics.....didn't know that until I placed the order. I just dropped by and picked up my order. Thanks again for the video.

For the overhead console lights, just pull the whole overhead console down. It's a lot easier.
Just grip the sides and pull really hard. It might feel like it's going to break but it will pop off.
I just changed my first one and yes it's easier to remove the whole overhead, i destroyed the heat sensor for nothing. 🤦🏻♂️
Yea this video is such a big help. I changing out all of my lights with red LED for my bright white charger and it looks awesome. I ordered some LED lights from diode dynamics and they should be here soon. Thanks!!!

I just did my trunk and the front driver/passenger side doors, I had a brain fart and I forgot to order the back door lights, im happy with the install, now just waiting for my LED reverse lights to arrive. Ima try the dome and vanity lights, good helpful video..thx.
Where did you order the passenger door lights from? I can’t seem to find them anywhere..
FYI, for the map lights; if you remove the grey outer trim, the heat shields just falls off. that way you could save them just in case...
Or, why not just leave them the hell in. Damn, it just destroyed them.

I replaced the rear map lights fine. I took out the heat shields for the dome lights but when i removed the oem lights , what holds the bulb got loose and now wont tighten up and the left bulb just simply will not come off.

What are the map lights and what are the dome lights? Anyway if you havent already, I bought an led license plate bulb and got it installed at a local autozone for like 10, 15 bucks. No hassle, really.
Are they all the same size light bulbs?

yes the glob box was a pain in the ass to take out and to put in the new bulb. leave that one for last and get prepared to get frustrated but eventually it will change it.
I removed and replaced the old bulbs with LED's and also removed the heat shielding, after replacing the plastic cover for the dome pressed them and there was no spring to them and of course the lights did not come on .... what is the proper way to replace the dome plastic cover .... Thanks
It looks great, but personally when I did my tag light LED (Which is the only one I have done so far) It was really easy and had no problems with it. Only took me a couple minutes to do
Jamal_Davis since this video was made I also replaced that bulb with an LED and you're right - it was easy! Not sure why people were complaining on the forums about it, haha!

Hey Riley I need your help man I know you don't have this car anymore but I was putting my led light in the top rear seats and both from the back popped all the way Inside and I can't get it out did you have this issue? If so please help on how to get it out I'm frustrated

Those cannot be changed. The LED is built in to a circuit board and not replaceable.
Can you do it with some lights so we can see.
everyone seems to only replace 1 of the 2 map/dome lights...

What did you do for map lights? The dome lights are simple but did you disable the map lights?

Hey Riley, idk if anyone else had this problem but I went to plug in the two LEDs in the back and they sparked and now neither one of them will work, even with the stock bulbs. However the dome like and door lights all work fine.
+Tyler Ventzke The LED's sparked? If the lights messed up then call Diode Dynamics. If the lights are fine then maybe you somehow blew a fuse so check the fuse box. That's very strange!
Hey Rp Productions/anyone who may know. ik u dont own this car anymore but i have a 2011 sxt and i accidentally blew both dome light switches in the back (botton) i called the dealer to find out if they sell the switches (botton) sepreatly but they said no and they charge $800 for the whole assembly... so $16000 per side plus tax. Would you happen to kno where i can get the switches from? i checked scrap yards but this car is hard to find there. i live in Toronto Canada

i just noticed you took off the heat shield.
they help with the heat but also serve as a reflector. so those l.e.d,s you just installed would have been brighter as far as the wider range aspect of it.
I thought the same. Luckily for me, I was able to remove the bulbs without having to remove the shield. It's pretty bright to say the least.

yea im not gonna bother with it though. but the bulbs themselves for the dome were too bright, i was gonna return them to get dimmer ones but then i tried something.
i smoked them with plasti dip and it came out great. still had the bright color but just 50percent dimmer.
it just looked weird to me when i first got them.. my car doesnt have tints and i hated the fact that when i turned them on while driving at night the cabin of the car felt like daylight that ppl in other cars could see the hairs in my nose just by looking into my car.
+bola R show yeah I hear you bud. I don't mind the brightness but you know the saying different strokes for different folks haha. I'll be adding blue LEDs in my footwells. Going to wire them to the ambient lighting so they can come on when the lights do. If I get annoyed with them I can always use the dimmer
My car comes with plastic light lenses.
Do you know if it is possible to get a bigger license plate lense?
I have some white led's that are a little longer than the factory original bulbs and it quite wont fit back with the plastic lense....

Sorry if this has been asked, do the interior lights still fade out after locking the doors? Or is it a sudden off after going LED?

at 6:33, do you remember what kind of bulbs you had go back there? I recently bought a kit and everything fit but the back seen at 6:33. The LEDS would not light up. I have a '12 charger. Thanks and keep up the videos!

hey bro.... I just did my lights in my charger.... I have a question for u... is there any way to switch out the map lights (back) the ones with the funky looking shell or they stuck like that... it really throws the lighting off in the front
+Gabriel Garcia The second pair of lights up by the garage door opener? Those lights are pretty much hard wired into the mother board up there so I really don't know how to remove them, my charger did not have them, only some do. I have seen people cover them with electrical tape though to get rid of the lights clashing!

+dknisle1 Not sure! The bulbs get VERY hot quickly so using your bare hands is probably not the best way to get the old bulbs out.

+Jose “Barca 3” Villa My car only had map lights up there, not sure why some have map AND dome but I read in many places the dome lights can't be taken out. Don't quote me on that though. I'd just look around online and see what you can find. Sorry I'm no help lol, good luck!

what brightness did you go with? is the first level brightness w/out the extra charge or did you go up the next level with the like $1.50 charge? hope that makes senses lol
I went with the second highest brightness (56 lumens) on every light available in that brightness.

My ocd is kicking in. I have a 2011 with lights behind the glass in the side mirrors that light up the outer door handle. Do you know where I can find some led replacements?

Lee M if you're referring to the things for the map light (ceiling light) then no. It's just to keep the lights from overheating, but LED lights are cool anyways.

+Ishaan Sharma Unfortunately the light you're talking about is only in some of the Charger Models and is indeed hardwired into the motherboard and can't be taken out. I have read several people cover it with electrical tape but I don't know of any other way to deal with that specific light.

+Zeyad Hassanin The lights you are talking about I believe are hardwired into that upper area near the sunglasses holder. Some chargers have them while others don't. My charger doesn't have them, not sure why some do and others do not.
+RP Productions Ya its annoying can't change them now I have a mix of white and yellow. Are you planing on changing the under glow to LED too?
If you're talking about the lights under the doors I already have LED's for them!

OH! I believe those lights are pretty much hardwired in and the installation of adding LED's to them would be a pain.

+bola R show Go with 2 Dome, 1 Glove, 2 Trunk, 1 Map, 2 Door, and 1 Vanity all in any brightness you want. I went with 56 lumens on mine. My packing list is at around 1:40 in the video.
2 door? Isnt it 4 door?
There are only door lights in the rear next to the handles. The light in the front all comes from the center area.
i want to replace mine i have a 2014 challenger also should be about the same right

+RP Productions your not wrong about them being very similar most likely, but in my 2013 charger i have another light underneath the map lights in the front that aims at your lap and I can't seem to be able to find the bulb type for it or how to take it out at that
The bulb you're talking about it actually connected to that entire board up there. Some model chargers have it, others don't-not sure why. But since I do not have it I don't know how to change it or if it's even possible.
+RP Productions Well after much research in replacing the lights my solution was simple, I just put electical tape over them since they don't seem to heat up like the rest (as well as still having my heat shields) and it allows for the full LED look. The lights are not missed since they're extra lights anyways, thanks for the vid my new lights are way better.

+Danny Arroyo they're hard wired in there I believe so I chose not to mess with them.
Those lights are are connected to a circuit board. They do not sell LEDs for them. However, what I did was remove the panel they're connected to. Cut the wire closet to the circuit board. Drilled 2 small holes in the panel so I can zip tie my aftermarket LED bar to the panel. Wired the positives and negatives together and they work perfectly. Matches my interior LEDs and is out of sight and looks OEM.

+Danny Arroyo not a problem. I'll do a video once I finish my LED/Headlights conversion setup. It'll be a couple more months but I'll check back on this video and link it. I've done all my interior lights except my vanity mirrors. Will be doing those soon along with blue LEDs for my front footwells as well as blue and white LEDs for under my front seats closer to the back side though to shine in the footwells for the back. The blue LEDs will be hardwired to the blue ambient lighting that shines above the handles and in the center console. #ModLife lol

Hey, quick clarification here! The new 2015 dodge chargers WILL NOT FIT the regular LED light bulbs you had on there. but a 194! hope this helps!
Which bulb are you talking about? According to Diode Dynamics website they're all the same for the 2011-2015 models.
the headlight dome apparently, because mine doesnt fit. i thought it supposed to fit too but the headlight dome doesnt :( i havent checked the other ones yet cuz i already messed up that heat shield lol
Your video was great until you ripped the shit out of your heat shields on your vehicle. I used a 1/4 ID piece of vinyl tube and pushed it on the bulb and then just pulled it out. I didn't even have to take the cover all the way off.
+brettcampbell253 The heat shield is pointless with the LED's installed. It's just personal preference if you want to keep it in there or not.
It's not just a heat shield it is a reflector. Look at any flashlight.
I assume you are correct although the light these LED's provide is more than enough with or without them up there.
I have the 2014 model..what did u do about the floor lights? The one next to the pedal and theres another one on the passenger floor.
My floor lights are still stock, I believe you can just splice the wires and connect your own foot-well light strips to the existing wires and they will work fine. I could be wrong so do your research before cutting anything, haha!

I just disconnected mine and reconnected them to these. Then just stuck them to the bottom with the attached 3m tape.
