Hi Manuel, I'm going to mount the tank in its original position on the frame so the back of it will sit about 3" ahead of the rear crossmember. I'm pretty sure I left enough room for it all the way round.
Thanks Gary. Im building the floor on my 1940 Desoto with an mustang gas tank. I will need to raise the trunk floor pan about 6 inches to fit the gas tank. Trying to figure out how to mount the tank to the frame.

How are you mounting your gas tank? Mounted to the frame or mounted to the supporting brackets you made for the sheet metal transitions?
