Looking good Gary!!! Div (Rat Rods for Africa) said today, each letter of PAINT carried the same value (20 Percent). The first four letters are 80 percent (PAIN). Looking forward to the next one.

Looks like you're tipping the scale more into your favor now. 👍
@@VinoRatRodbuilds Thanks! I really hope the bodywork saga is coming to an end.
Whats the distributor you used to get rid of your points egnition
This engine came out of a later Ford Ranger, so already had electronic ignition. The stock dist. is now controlled by an MSD box.
What about adding the oil?
Thanks for the comment. I havent actually done that yet, good idea for a future video though....
She's been punched in the nose. Make that hood an inch longer. Leave the fenders.
@@Steven-z5w You are probably right! I've been able to get it pretty good since but the hood ornament isn't fitting perfectly... Like it's been hit in the nose like you said! Thanks for watching and commenting!

Hey Gary, nice to see you in the suggested feed 👍hope a great year for you and yours ! The new one looks real nice !
@@TheCanadianBubba thanks! Happy New Year!
Good video Gary! Glad u made it, I too have read about those fitting poorly in the forums. I seem to remember pictures of one that was terribly off, maybe it was. Because of the bodywork though. Anyway you have a real nice fit. I’m sure it will be great when you finish! Take care Gary
@@mywaymanufacturing2817 thanks Jeremy. This ornament was true to the original, hopefully that means my bodywork will be too, or better hopefully. Happy New Year to you and your family.
Always something to try your patiance. Happy New Year.
Thats for sure! Happy New Year to you too!

@@VinoRatRodbuilds happy new year! Thanks for the comment!
I too expect the factory fit was not great. Cars have come a long way in 80 years. I spent the day sanding and painting too.
@@faroironandcustoms6577 You are probably right Michael. QA wasn't so much a thing in 1940. Sorry to hear you are doing bodywork too. It sucks.
@@garyscarstuff It's all good. Getting something ticked off of the list of things that keep me from my projects.
@@faroironandcustoms6577 yes. Agreed. Happy new year!
@@garyscarstuff Happy New Year!
Would a new one in 1940 have fit as perfectly as we who are restoring these cars now have fit any better? Are we being too picky? I know there are slight gaps in the repro one on my 1940 Deluxe.
@@RAK402 excellent point. To be honest had I not checked this first and just mounted it once the car was painted I wouldn't have cared, or possibly even noticed.
My TBI currently has 2 studs coming up. Will this work in one of the holes?
@@darkhelmet4248 if it's a GM TBI of the same era It would think it would. However you may be able to use a normal straight one which in my opinion would be far superior.
Looking good Gary! You’ll be ready for paint soon , very cool

Dont know really but thanks for watching! PS I've subscribed to your channel!
How did you get the oil seal around the input shaft out? Mine is between a bearing and the casting, I'm not sure how to get it out without pulling the bearing.
You might have to pull the bearing, mine was a bit different in that the seal was accessible.
With the newer front suspension can you still read the vin numbers on the drivers side frame?
Not in this case, the numbers cannot be clearly seen.
Beautiful car! I have a series V that my father put a pinto engine/trans back in 70s. I did a light restoration in the 90s and the car has worked great for 50 years, but the engine now needs a rebuild so thinking about this swap. I’ve done some light engine work but not much drivetrain experience here, and certainly never swapped an engine myself. Looking to make it a fun and more reliable car my daughters (who learned Stick on this) can drive. Also looking for comfortable freeway speeds. Currently redlining to keep up on the freeway. I’ll find a shop to help, but really don’t know where to start on this project!
It will be a big project to undergo on your own. We have a car club where we all work together helping each other out with our projects, maybe there is something like that where you live?
Beautiful work!
@@Grapplerfan THANK YOU!
Man he had it flying around the track, looks like a fun time. Yesterday Cordova drag strip had their big summer event. Farm truck was there. I would have liked to have went and filmed a bit for RUclips, but it was just so darn hot that I didn’t think it would be enjoyable. Great video Gary!
@@mywaymanufacturing2817 thanks Jeremy, it was a blast! Now I'm looking at ads for cheap cars so I can go racing, like I need more projects....

How about adding the OEM Ford Capri V6 badges and placing them where the 289 badging goes on the Tiger. Lots of nice ones from eBay can be sourced. It’s all in the detail guys! Nice job on the project!!!!!

I agree with Michael bodywork 😡 looking good.👍
Thanks! Yep bodywork sucks, I should have made it out of wood.

thanks Michael! I was pleasantly surprised when the rack held up. Next video the car is in primer.
Denis, Has accomplished a beautiful job converting his Sunbeam Alpine to the Ford (Cologne) 2.8 V6. As stated, he purchased the engine mounts from Dan Richardson better kown as DanR (Me), that started the V6 conversion on one of his Alpines back in 2009 by purchasing a kit then available on the web. The components were of a good quality but poor design IMO. That is what started me on the path of designing, fabricating and providing the components to Sunbeam Guys wanting a more modern driver. I designed the engine mounts first utilizing drawing, laser cutting, then bending in a Hyd press. The top bracket bolts to the engine; the lower bracket is welded to the crossmember; an ANCHOR 2424 rubber biscuit then fastens the two brackets for a perfact fit. Next came the design of straight back headers similar to the Tiger exhaust system. That was no easy task. Bet Dennis will agree. All of my components are laser cut then formed in a hyd press without welding for better, stronger and cleaner looks. A cross link Dennis mentioned that goes behind the engine, replacing the factory one is also hyd formed with threaded ends for tie rod ends. There are other components needed for the conversion available. You can reach me via the SAOCA Forum or tiger2dan@gmail.com
Thanks for the comment Dan. I have to say your kit is excellent for this conversion. The only challenge dennis had was making the headers to fit, but in the end it works great and he is driving it all the time!
Well done Sir!
Thank you, and thanks for subscribing!

OK. Thanks for the comment.
Dennis used a ranger drive shaft including the front yoke it does fit in but there is not a lot of room around it. The trans he used is a Toyo Kogyo TK 5.
I’m doing the same swap with my Sunbeam. I’m curious what you used for a slip yoke and drive shaft as the space is tight and the Ranger yoke may be too large in diameter to fit. Thanks.
Not sure. I'll ask Dennis. Thanks for the comment!

I’m presently doing the same swap. Curious what you used for a slip yoke in the Ford transmission as the space going through the x-frame is too small for the original Ranger yoke. Thanks.
