Facts! If 2 other Trinis give it a 9, and she gave is a 5.5 you KNOW she was lowballin. I hate it when people do this just so they can win, it's dishonest and selfish.
@@jonkiyosaki6600You bring up a good point, they could focus more on the Afro Trini cuisine such as stew chicken, red beans and rice, callaloo etc.... But black cake isn't Indian, and she still won that challenge. I'm dougla myself and would love see more of these challenges.
@@jonkiyosaki6600 they're not all dougla. She's Indian and that's fine. She made the best black cake which is not a traditionally Indian dish. Trinis of all backgrounds making other types of Trini food well
This group is quite nice to watch…because they are actually critiquing the food. No one spitting food out, no unnecessary rudeness…just people giving their honest opinion😊
Trini people have the most vibrant personalities, I went to cooking class with a Trini girl she was always so fun and had a great sense of humor . I like you guys approach to life , smile and joke threw the problems of life and take it easy
I like learning different dishes from other countries & Islands . PLEASE continue to bring Trinidadian dishes to this channel. I like how they judge each other in a honest and respectful way 😉. I love it ❤❤❤
I'm Canadian, but there is a Trinidad restaurant I've ordered from where I live that sells doubles. I tried it just to see what it was like and I was obsessed. I get it every time now. Doubles are so goooood!!
I like all 4 of these ladies (although I think Janelle is a wee bit shady with her critiques & scoring). But overall the Trinidadian mom's are some of my favorites. 🥰❤️ Giselle is an entire mood. And Ranette's skin just glows. 🥰 Giselle's reaction to the pimento pepper, in Nadine's dish, was SO CUTE 🥰 CONGRATS 🎉 NADINE ❤️🥰🙌🏾
Yes essentially, (bhatura is a bit thicker tho) but with carribean seasonings. Mainly the green seasoning. West Indians have a lot of Indian ingredients and foods. As a Half Jamaican Half Indian I love when my cultures mix
Doubles is the one food I prefer to eat at a vendor than homemade. Those vendors have the magic ingredients. Thin bars and runny channa is easier said than done. You need the right consistency and flavor to make a great doubles.
Hahaha, nah. If only one contestant brought roasted coconut chutney, then she was winning and everyone else was fighting for second. Tamarind sauce, shandon beni sauce (culantro) and cucumber slaw/chow/chutney and a pepper sauce are usually the bare minimum condiments for doubles.
I'm not gonna hate on anybody's doubles attempt because it really is tricky to get perfect and still, preference plays a huge part. I commend them for even trying.
There's always that 1 and Janelle was that 1 🙄 And they ALWAYSSSSSS score the lowest 🤦🏾♀️ never fail... Nadine needs to share her workout routine her shoulders were 👌🏾👌🏾
I don't get the ratings on these series. One person says it's dry the other says it's perfect. One gives it a 7 the other gives it a 3. Do they even understand what a 0-4 even means? The worst most food can score is literally a 5 which is average. So all these low ball ratings I'm struggling to understand. The amount of things that have to be wrong with food for it to be a 3 goes far beyond your personal preferences. 😅 Better judging, please.
I wish they judged each other more fairly and were honest with their scoring instead of scoring just so they can win. The way they describe it vs what they rate it just doesn’t match up.
Tbh if im being objective, nobody doubles looked particularly good. No doubt the winner's looked like it tasted the best from this selection but it still didnt look like an authentic doubles to me. But doubles is a hard thing to get right, its more of a street food than a home cooked meal. People only really started tryin they hand at it during the pandemic in big numbers. N also as someone who has tried to do doubles in the UK with the ingredients available there.......issa bit tricky too. So A for effort mums
I agree I saw a lot of doubles suggestions but I was hoping something else, like an Afro-Trini dish, would make it Doubles isn't something most grow up learning to make
That’s the final round for the Trini mums, which country should we do next?
bring back the nigerian and carribean aunties they were so funny 🤣
SENEGAL / THE GAMBIA !!!!!
No pelau ? 😬
Kenya
Mexico
Janelle ain't slick bro, scored everyone low but still ain't win. 😂
I said the same thing 😂
Said the same 😂 like whataaa
She is hard to watch. Ugh
ikr
She’s a big hater for real lol
Janelle is a straight-up HATER. She knew she enjoyed Nadine’s doubles, but scored her low in the hopes that she would win. What a rotten thing to do.
YESSS !!!!!!!!😊
I love Nadine’s and Giselle’s personalities. Janelle knows she was straight hating on Nadine. She knew it was good!
Facts! If 2 other Trinis give it a 9, and she gave is a 5.5 you KNOW she was lowballin. I hate it when people do this just so they can win, it's dishonest and selfish.
Right! I think her real scores would’ve been what she gave x2. That last dish was probably really a 10 to her.
@@Just_Jelle Yeah for most of the video it felt like she thought she was scoring out of 5, not 10
I think it was the wooly hat on her head...it hampered her taste buds😂
Janelle is so ignorant
Rannette is underrated. Always generous with her scores.ㅠㅠ
❤❤❤❤
Dear BuzzFeed... we wouldn't be mad if you brought back the Trinidadian mom's for more competitions 🥰🥰
Please if give low scores all time so they could win dont bring them back. I watch because learning about food not shade.
Nadine needs a RUclips channel! I love how she breaks everything down.
You can tell who will win without waiting on the ratings 😂😂😂 congrats to the winner - I don't want to ruin it for everything (that's a huge gap too 😂)
I expected the Indo Trinidadian to win... Doubles is one of their specialties! Congrats, Nadine. I ❤ Giselle's personality and realness.
Nadine is killing ALL these Trini food challenges!
I think it’s because most dishes are of Indian origins and she’s more Indo trini , although they all might be Dougla ( mixed ) .
@@jonkiyosaki6600You bring up a good point, they could focus more on the Afro Trini cuisine such as stew chicken, red beans and rice, callaloo etc.... But black cake isn't Indian, and she still won that challenge. I'm dougla myself and would love see more of these challenges.

Yup, we always joke all the time

Janelle really said everything except the chickpeas was on point and gave a four 💀
Lmao i thought that was crazy too!

Facts. Toronto?
The lady with the cap is clueless.
Ngl at first I thought they were scoring it out of 5 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Me too 😂
Janelle is the harshest critic 😂 … and I just love Giselle’s accent.
She speaks mostly like a trini
Yea Giselle's accept is straight trini
Giselle is such a vibe, loved her reactions and how she speaks
I get so excited every time I see Giselle, she has such a warming personality.
Indian Trini was so pleasant when she spoke calm energy
Wow they were throwing around a lot of 3s. I think someone was being tactical but it didn't work 😂
Giselle was a good sport! She was excited for everything!
Everyone knows Indian Trinis make the best doubles. This is coming from a black Trinidadian.
Some critics just want to win, the other 2 said this is good and one of them "not too bad"...why not just say, it's good lol.
Nadine....thank you....as a trini....you made us proud...
So proud of all them❤love being a Trini 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
this is same as puri and chana which is a popular breakfast in pakistan and india
doubles is definitely one of the hardest dishes to make. But once you get a good doubles, YUMM
Listen, making doubles Issa art. Not any and everyone came the perfect doubles. This was definitely a hard one.
Of all the mum's giselle is the realist i love her vybz and more so he trini accent is still there
"honestly... I'm not surprised..." LMBOOO that took me out! wish I could be a taster!!!
Love the series... Came to say I love Giselle's accent ❤ I love my Caribbean people dem in general but Trini have the best accent (in my opinion)

Ah so Doubles is basically bhatura and channa/cholay together!
Yes essentially, (bhatura is a bit thicker tho) but with carribean seasonings. Mainly the green seasoning. West Indians have a lot of Indian ingredients and foods. As a Half Jamaican Half Indian I love when my cultures mix

This episode is going downhill REAL FAST 😂😂😂😂
😂😂 I haven’t watched yet and now I’m in total anticipation 😂
😂😂😂
Janelle is def a lil hater …. Cause she scoring real low
Trying to win and didn’t that’s what she get
Although Rannette didn't win, I think her channa actually looked the best.
One of the best series so far 🇹🇹❤
The way janelle just taste, put the plate aside ande say « 3 » 😂😂😂
Buzz feed I don't mind watching trinidad moms all day
My mum's Fijian, and we also use Mango Chutney, Tamarind sauce and Kutchalla in our cooking! Small world
Channa receipe like vendors: boil channa with split peas puree. When channa is soft add baking soda and green seasoning . Salt geera. Thank me later
What did you expect from the Indian Trini, she nanni must have taught her well.
Doubles sounds delicious, and as a man who likes condiments having a lot to choose from is never bad.

Janelle should have wowed all the judges with her dish since she was so critical of others
Guyana 🇬🇾 and we wanna see Roti, Curry, Pepperpot and bread 😍🇬🇾😍

Doubles for life🇬🇩💯💯❤️💛💚
Channa - chickpeas
Shadowbenni- culantro not cilantro/ spice of the Caribbean
I love Giselle.
Her hair is everything 🙌🏼

I love Giselle😂🎉
Never click so fast
Giselle was the most honest one out of all of them. Nadine gave reasonable critiques, like the oil not being hot enough when the bara was fried.
Come on Nads! We need more from the Trini's I beg!
I love all the women, bring back more Nigerian ladies I love their drama
I noticed the most critical ones are the ones who prepare the worst kinds of meals

Taste is subjective. Simple
Before watching I knew who would win.
I enjoy watching, well done ladies. Giselle has a beautiful, personality. Love from JA🇯🇲
When she said, “3”, I felt that.
Hope y,all can do Guyanese eggball next😁
This was giving lowkey hater vibes.. scoring low so that they’d win. I appreciate Giselle’s energy and giving credit where it was due
Sorry Ladies... your not going to beat an indian lady at making barra or any indian dish. She's got centuries of experience behind her.
Buzzfeed real brave with this one. Trini moms could hurt your feelings if yuh food not tasting right!
Ranette doubting that the condiments were homemade because of how good they looked. Ma’am if you cannot cook, just say it.
giselles hair 😍 im inlove

when i saw the consistency of the tamarind sauce and the coconut, i knew nadine was gonna win
So glad janelle didn’t win whew she seemed to be stacking the deck in her favor and if they do more I hope they replace her with someone not like tht
Doubles is super hard to get right. I've tried it about 5 times, never get it right yet 😭😭
