ZENOLOGY is an expandable plug-in version of the ZEN-Core Synthesis System. ZEN-Core is based on discrete synth voices-each containing a flexible oscillator, filter, amplifier, dual step-LFOs, and lush effects. It mixes multiple synthesis types, combining vintage Roland oscillators and filters with PCM waves capable of PCM-SYNC and cross-modulation. Layer up to four voices in a single tone for rich, complex sounds, both classic and modern.
With ZENOLOGY you have access to an ever-expanding, always-evolving universe of sound. Driven by the powerful ZEN-Core Synthesis System, a steady stream of new sounds and expansions focus on specific genres and instrument types, or feature sounds from leading artists.
ZENOLOGY puts the ZEN-Core Synthesis System in your DAW and provides access to a universe of amazing sounds-but this is only the beginning. In the coming months, ZENOLOGY will get new synth engine expansions and grow into a sound designer's dream with deep editing capabilities.  The ZENOLOGY plug-in works in AU, AAX, and VST formats and is ready for use on your tracks.
ZENOLOGY supports Model Expansions for perfect recreations of classic Roland synthesizers like the JUPITER-8, JUNO-106, SH-101, JX-8P, and more. They use Analog Behavior Modeling to capture the essence of these legendary instruments and are optimized for high polyphony with an interface inspired by the original-but reimagined for use in your DAW.

This back and forth over USB isn’t going to enamour people to buy one of these.

Roland why not allow the USB connection for transferring files? Thumb drive makes absolutely no sense.

Got several Roland boards and a MC101 and thinking hey Im pretty covered. Maybe I should grab a Yamaha as they have great sounds too, GAS popping up, brain goes ummmm shouldn’t you be able to duplicate almost any Synth sound with the 4 partials of Zenology Pro? Whut???? Ummmmm yeah probably. So watching this
BTW it would make creating a custom bank FAR less tedious if you could select multiple Tones in Zenology Pro and write those into the Custom Bank. Using Option or Cntrl key etc hope that comes soon as its maddening having to do 1 Tone at a time.
    Thanks

MPE compatibility in the hardware and software? Receiving midi on Multichannels and each have in increased pitch bend range of at least 12 intervals? Additional features to continue for iOS? Does having membership mean anything for iOS?

I'm just curious if Zenology is available for both the Fantom and the Fantom G?

20:09 Ed, can we put EVERY sound and engine into the Fantom, including Jupiter, SH1, Juno, etc... Is that just preset or the whole engine? I don’t own a Fantom (yet), but I had a Fantom XR fully loaded in the past, so I would love to know if I could just get all SRX back in the Fantom (apparently yes) and then even add more sounds and get a supercharged Fantom to work offline and then be able to switch to the plugin version when I’m back on a computer. It seems like it’s exactly the direction Roland is taking, but I’m not sure if all virtual sounds and engine could be loaded in the Fantom, including synth engine, not just sample playback synthesis.

    Thanks for the video!
    I have a question:
Are there plans to make Zenology Pro multitimbral? I love it, and can work well with it within a DAW, however a multitimbral version would be advantages from a workflow standpoint.
I'm currently sequencing Zenology Pro from my Akai Force, and a multitimbral version would be amazing

I agree, a Multitimbral Mode would be great. It’s not too CPU intensive as it is, but it really needs a Multi Mode. They’ll need to add a reverb to the MFX list for this as well.

Model expansions for the 707 please. The way you marketed the 707 was
like the model expansions would be a part of the 707. Very misleading

I’m hoping that Roland produces a good Zenology Pro video showcasing what this synth can do. The information presented during this stream was all over the place and the hosts couldn’t stick on any topic long enough to explain thoroughly. Way too much talking and not enough sound demos, and too much focus on every other Zen-related Roland product except for the one titled in the video.
Appreciate you guys taking the time for a live stream with a new product, but I heard more about “Squirrels” and goofy pictures than how the Zenology Pro is a new Roland synth engine that will stand up against other Roland classics.
    A missed opportunity.

I'm sorry guys - but having to use a USB drive to do all this instead of a direct connection with the hardware is really sad.

£3000 for a synth and then asking for a £200 subscription and none of the parameters auto mapped to the knobs? I feel totally fleeced at the moment as the whole point of a workstation is to bypass all this software mapping and to eliminate latency. This a marketing video so don’t waste your time. I like these guys but I feel ripped off for effectively paying for a £3000MIDI controller

Grant it: the hardware does stand alone without the software. The software is a product on it own. They just happen to integrate , but neither needs the other to be useful and produce music.🤷🏾‍♂️
