I no longer work with hero outdoors. Lost all my business.
If only I had the money Братишка.
Hey do you know a good way to get "cadpat" gear like pants and jacket and helmet covers
Hey Matt, there is a channel called ZNA productions or Zanny productions, who made a $30 body armor that held up against 7.62 and 5.56. If you wanted to train with real plates you can make them.
hello Matsimus, can you please do a review on Soviet heavy mortar 2S4 Tyulpan, it is a pretty insane weapon, largest mortar in the world to date it can even launch a small nuclear munition, I am actually surprised you didn't check it out yet

Suddenly a wild Matsimus appears, matsimus uses introduction, it's super effective.
Cargo shorts and a Tac vest....Where you headed? An military dad meetup?
You’re avatar is a ghost pirate. I don’t think we have much more to say lol.
Matsimus alright you got me there, still love your content.....just ignore the image I forgot how to change it and I gave up a long time ago
No he'd need white grass stained new balances or stap sandles with socks for that lol
Kris Tanto fought in Benghazi wearing similar stuff. I think tactical cargo short is acceptable. Besides, Mat came from Britain and they have a history of wearing shorts into battles: www.quora.com/Why-did-the-British-Army-in-the-1940-s-wear-shorts-in-the-desert
@@ATDCanada don't forget Rhodesian s and their shorts
Yeah sure it’s heavy duty............BUT CAN IT TAKE A JDAM?!?
But... Can It take an icbm?
All and more, call today while supplies last!
I remember when we switched from flaks to plate carriers back when I was crewing a M777. So much easier to swing a maddox and use a shovel with the carrier.
In greece we dont even have flaks.Only special forces use body armor. Its really really pitty
I think your the first person on RUclips to do a old school late night infomercial
@matsimus any plans on doing a complete review on all your Canadian army gear? Or is that a no go in Canada.
Nice! Always liked your gear reviews.
What an intro! Awesome content as always
Man! I had no idea you did gear reviews!!! That's awesome I've been watching your channel for a few years(i think) and have always watched the weapons system videos. Rock on man! And thank you for your service.
I love your work. Keep up the good work. :)
Your smile is very warming 0:11
I have a similar vest made by Rothco. Though I haven't done anything quite as rigorous with it as you have, I have worn it with two ballistic plates in it all day as part of a G.I. Joe cosplay with absolutely no problems. I even laughed at the stormtroopers who complained about the weight of their armor which weighed about as much as one plate in my vest
That padding on the inside was the reason why i sold my Lindnerhof Balmung Vest. Now wearing an US RBAV which i had to import and get from the customs here in germany. Was fun to explain why i bought a Plate Carrier.
Welcome back to another episode of "This Old Field Gear" with your host, Canadius Matsimus!
That Funker shirt tho....
"I have worn it for two weeks."
I imagen you going into a grocery store in full combat gear.
loved your review thanks so much i just ordered mine, how did you make your plates?
I own the same PC. Love it.
I got me one of those frag vests; the one with the NSN#. Best score ever
6b5 vest for me Братишка.
why am i watching a plate carrier review... before bed.. idk
Same here lol.
You should do a review on the Canadian military equipment
Damn matsimus... you look good...
Can you do al khalid tank review
Should try a 5.11 Tactec, I've been using that thing in armored division in 2 gun ACM, by far it's been the most comfortable I've tried.
am applying for bold eagle BMQ in CFB wainwright
Nice i have a condor defender in coyote
Hey Matt, another great video.
By the way, have you seen this TV series "Battle Stripes" before? It is about the Platoon Sergeant's Battle Course in Brecon Wales. You can find the whole playlist here on RUclips.
I had an earlier version of this carrier and got rid of it. I found that the front of the vest would frequently smack me in the neck when going prone or trying to shoot around cover. Its heavy when wet in the rain and it didn't really feel comfortable. Also it didn't have the best buttstock interface when shooting. I switched to a US company, AWSINC, whose carrier is lighter and much more comfortable with a better cut when carrying rifle plates.
So my question is, how does it compare to an Osprey IV rig
got my self a 6b45 whit real front and rear plate , I just dont have side plate I was not able to find them for sale but I found a shop that sale side plate of the proper size
could give me a link of 6b45 supplier
OD Green? My favorite color too. I'm old school, I've always called the flak jackets. There is a company called Tactical Tailor (interesting story how the company got started) that makes plate carriers. They will sell you the vests but not the plates unless you're military or law enforcement. Possible to do a review on them? Thanks for the video.
6:02 Kinda like the MTV the Marines use. It open that way too.
Matt's gone full snek
Rook: *LAUGHS* *IN* *FRENCH*
Yo they do international delivery (specifically Australia)? Cause I'm in the market for a new carrier and field pack.
Yes they do
What kind of Armor vest do you wear in the reserve
none, unless you're on course or a large scale ex
3:14 that looks like GD wainwright haha 😆
how to get ur uhhh idk what its called but something up
You going to fight the holly war in shorts and flips flops, strong move (13 hours)
I feel like this would be too bulky to wear over the issued frag vest, and as such a chest rig would be a better fit. Condor is an okay brand, but I'd never use it overseas. I'd lean towards Warrior Assault Systems, Crye Precision, etc.
So I ordered a ruck from Hero Outdoors, on August 7. It still has not shipped. Is this normal, and do I just need to be patient?
I have contacted them. Hopefully they can help you out. Keep me posted buddy.
@@_Matsimus_ Thanks Matt, I appreciate it. I will certainly let you know what happens!
for some reason i thought this was a giant ship carrying plates
i have a question: why'd you move to canada specifically?
He just did a video on that a few days ago
By the way, what happened to Dragon's skin?

Does the military allow personally purchased gear to be used?
Short answer - it depends. As far as I know, although I'm new, the military provides everything you need. But boots, socks, and tac glasses you can use your own after you're trained, within reason. Not sure about a tac vest or plate carrier, but I bet no.
@@kylebrodie5860 what about on deployments because I saw people with very custumized and modularized tac vests
@@theactusnation2394 I'm not sure, I'm very new. Anyone else know?
there one type of vest that every want, that is a type of vest that can stand a riffle bullet shot.
Edit: Just fixing the words that i notice is wrong.

Wouldn't recommend a weighted vest of any sort when training except push/pull exercises. Our base commander even prohibited wearing plate carriers while running in the mornings because it doesn't actually do anything but ruin your joints and change your gait. Also Condor is seen as the bottom of the barrel. Put down 75 more USD and get an American made plate carrier instead of a Chinese import.
Beat me to it. I see it as a quick way to get shin splints. But I'm prone to them
wow you can crawl really fast
That's how you get promotion in the army und a brown noise 😁
Does AR500 sell products in Canadia? C'mon Matt, you're better than Condor.
But why spend the money on a Gucci plate if all you're going to use it for is training? For costuming, airsofting/paintballing, training something like a Condor plate carrier, or any other generic Made in China is plenty good enough since your life isn't depending on it not breaking and it's a fraction of the cost of a high end version of it.
Dude I know condor is pretty good especially some of their pouches but if you wanna good plate carrier get the mayflower apc or shellback tactical
add crye, ferro concepts, agilite, lbt etc. just about anything except condor or 5.11
footbalr074 right there with you
At this point you should have a coupon code or something lol.
Yeah.... I have some concerns... 🤨
put skateboard wheels on the front...wheeeeeeeee
So Canadian troops aren’t trusted with their equipment off post? That’s crazy to me.
Airsoftin'? :P
Hello mutsims can you play walkthrough company of heroes gmae

For all my Australian brothers searching for high quality plate carriers for a decent price, check out KRIEGER TACTICAL. shit is legit, well made, quality materials and of course made in queensland. non of that cheap china shieeet 👍
SORD Australia makes WAAAAAAY better stuff.
Although it's good to see that you managed to film this during one of Canada's 5 sunny days they get each year.
Further side note, a serviceman in Brisbane Australia was doing exercise in tactical gear as such with a simulated red weapon and was arrested.
I ran while pregnant...even did a half-marathon race preggy...do you thing it is the same? he he he...
yo put a watermelon in it and try it out...
Made almost 100% surely by US prisonlabour?
Way too expensive for airsoft...
Not really. The milsim wannabes spends hundreds on uniforms because some sf unit wore them once. Sad but true
Wait till you see people decked out head-to-toe in all Crye Precision... and US$96 for a Condor vest will look positively affordable.
Hmmm i have to admit that my DDR kit is not very comfortable, but i was done for about 110 euro...

Canada where even being in the military you can't own gear everyday people in America have... You seriously say, "if you're having a panic attack"? Time for a medical discharge...
I mean even in the states, owning gear while in the military often times more restrictive than civilian. Can't legally own and keep guns in barracks or even in a private house on base.
