Weather experts say Utah youth group was lucky that lightning strike didn't seriously hurt anyone

I was with an outdoor geography class in college and we were on top of Black Butte in Oregon when our hair started standing on end. The teacher got us all into a small storage shed that was not too far from the look out tower and we waited it out.

Thank God these kids survived. I remember a football team in CO several years back who all died from a lightning strike.

I saw a herd of horses that took shelter under a tree in 1950s. Lightening struck and they all died. I am so grateful that the kids survived. Live and prayers to all.

That’s incorrect there are steps you can do to minimize your risk of being struck. Lay dow on the ground, lightning tends to strike taller objects, move away from conductors such as water and metal. All of these aren’t fool proof but are steps you can take if you find yourself in a lightning storm

I knew a kid who was the outfielder on his bedroom team. Not a rain drop in the sky but it was overcast. The rainstorm was at least 3 miles out. As he reached for the ball coming his way, he was struck by lightening. It fused his fingers together but he survived. No standing water in the field either.

The best option is always to wear your certified Morman underwear, especially with the heavy duty absorbent crotch patch. Everybody knows the crotch patch acts like a fuse.
