I'm glad you uploaded this video! I'm traveling from Orlando (MCO) to Chicago (ORD) in July on a United 737-800 in First. This is the first real trip report for this product I've seen!
man i'm gonna miss the interiors with direct tv. it just has such a nostalgic and comforting vibe for me, flying on these kinds of planes was my childhood as my family's flown with united my entire life.
Seeing that Bohemian Rhapsody ad playing around the 3:40 mark made me smile.
Yeah I thought that was Freddie Mercury.
Great review but the age, state and cleanliness of the seats really doesn't look like they should be sold as a premium product.

I commute to Bogota from Dallas via Hoston.... and believe it or not... I've never had a problem... I don't care what plane they put on the route, it's is always a nice time.... I like their food, staff.. and well...no complaints at all..
I miss Continental, but, I find the newer seats to be very firm, the cushions seems thinner.

I’d fly Hawaiian A330 over A321 d/t first class seats being lie flat. Also, I guess it would depend on what island you’d like to visit. From SAN, A330 flies to/from HNL, while A321 flies to/from OGG. I’d suggest island hopping between Maui and Oahu and taking one plane model to Hawaii and the 2nd back to San Diego. Great UA 1st class review btw

I’d say if you fly Hawaiian, pick the A330 over the A321NEO because the A330 has IFE screens and the NEO doesn’t. Speaking of which, just before the end of this month I’m gonna fly Hawaiian for the first time and likely the last since they are merging with Alaska!
Those are classis 1990’s first class seats I see in movies. Like it.
I love the cushy older seats and these big square windows.
Is this model the one that got grounded? And did I read correct, United is getting rid of DirecTV? 👀 How cheap can you get? I usually paid for my tv before my flight to save money with United.

Airlines should train a special crew to do seats detailing. Those old seats in first class are my favorite.
You have to try Hawaiian!! They truly are the best! Even though I work for a different airline, they treat you like family. I highly recommend the A330! But the A321 is really comfortable as well!

I just hope they don’t ask me to, at the same time I try not to point cameras directly at their faces. And if they do ask me to stop filming, I’ll just either do it when they can’t see or stop altogether

Have you even heard of euro business class? go ahead and research it, this is DOMESTIC first class, its not international first class
Cool video, pretty similar to AA’s service. If you’re are going to try Hawaiian I would definitely suggest the A330 because of the lie flat seat.

What do you do for a living that you get to travel so much?
you suggested that these seats are going away, what is the timeframe for them to start being retrofitted with new seats? I know the 737-700s in UAs fleet are starting to be retrofitted as my last few 737-700 flights were on the new slimline no-IFE granite countertop first class seats.

Hello there i have a question, I am 6' 3" tall slender build & just had a hernia repair 10 days ago & was looking to fly across the country on this United plane & was wondering if you might have an opinion on which row in 1st class might be the most comfy & legroom, the 1st row A or say the 2nd row, & also i prefer the window seat. please advise, thanks !

You parked your car at the airport? Was it worth it? I'm considering parking my car at the airport here in Sacramento when I fly to Ohio in a few months. I usually take a taxi or get a ride from a friend, but I'm considering just driving and leaving my car there. I get a discount because I have a Fastrak device.
Those TVs make me laugh! Just looks weird, but I would most likely prefer it over the new product. I can't stand how AA and UA think that people prefer BYOD. Good review.

I still do prefer the old Continental first class seats myself..despite them being quite worn.. but they're "worked in" :-) . Throwback to the 90s... longer before the merger that never should've happened.
nice review , i wish United was a little more consistent with their first class offering , the A319 i flew a couple of weeks ago didn't have IFE
The airbuses were legacy United and never had IFE, the Boeings were continental and had IFE installed. Satellite is getting phased out in favor of the wifi app and streaming.
@@SeaOtterRob Legacy airbuses at some point did have IFE but it wasn’t personal, they flipped out of the ceiling and to my current knowledge were only used for maps and safety videos.

Was just looking for how the seats work...never saw it.
Sorry about that, the only useful function of this seat is the recline function, which works with the push of a button and adding and leaning back. Tray table is in the armrest and the TV screen’s remote are similar functions to those found at home TVs

Oh and by the way did you noticed that a lock from the engine opened during take-off (07:00)? It was opened the complete flight and closed in Chicago after touch down again...

neolithic3 They are in the arm rest/center console. They fold out. I just started flying 1st class about a year ago and the guy next to me was looking at me like I was a peasant when I was trying to figure it out. Lol

13:00 there's a small lever on the side of the seat for the lumbar adjustment. The placard itself doesn't do anything. I've always wondered why they bothered putting it there.

This is so sad. JetBlue has personal screens for everyone in the main cabin. With United and American you are paying double the price for more leg room, free drinks and a smaller bathroom line. That is all. You don't get lounge access, a meal, privacy or anything else you would expect from a first class flight. United Airlines and American Airlines first class is not that far from Jet Blue main cabin.
