@@Angel-xi6vvsame i feel like that’s an album you need to be familiar w her earlier work to fully appreciate it and listen to it multiple times to fully appreciate the lyrical content
If you like all music you’ll like Lana. If your familiar with old western, Italian music from the 60’s, Woodstock music, crooner music, 90’s grunge… you’ll love Lana. She’s a blend of all the musical she loves.
I’d say lana’s music is definitely an acquired taste. I first heard lana back in 2015 and thought she was mid, 2016 and I liked one song which was young and beautiful. I tried to listen to ultraviolence around 2017 and got bored. 2018 I listened to born to die paradise and I fell inlove and just got what it was that made her special. Maybe you should listen to Ultraviolence next! And also, I think you'd maybe enjoy the Paradise EP, it is really good (born to die is so much better in the paradise edition btw)
Hey this is so random, but I think you would love an artist called Rina Sawayama. If you ever do a different artist reaction video, I highly recommend her album “SAWAYAMA” it has an interesting and very experimental track list (pop, heavy rock, techno, ballad) and would make for an entertaining listen.
I suggest you listen to Lust for Life next because it kind of covers most of the sounds Lana does and is personally my favorite album by her or listen to Norman Rockwell next because it is her best album objectively
Oh it's gonna be tough for you to go through her discography ahah I have the same issue as you with Lana I personally find it repetitive (lyrics wise gorgeous) but the albums drag a bit much for me. you gotta listen to ultraviolence next!!! it’s a rite of passage bc btd lovers were least expecting the shift of mood and aura of her second best album !!
I'm not about to stop you from making 9 pretty fun videos.... but you probably only really have to do one for Born to Die, Lust for Life, Norman Fucking Rockwell, and then maybe give Ocean Blvd another shot. (I'm still undecided on it, frankly) There's good stuff on all her records, but those first 3 are the heavy hitters, not necessarily the "Fan favorites" but certainly the biggest commercially and critically.
I know Ultraviolence gets a lot of love from the LDR fans, but it's honestly pretty mid. it's just that after Born to Die came out and became a big influential hit, everyone was so excited for more Lana, that they didn't really care that it didn't have any of the highs of the first record, it was MORE! And, loving Dan Auerbach as much as I do (The Black Keys might be a top 10 band for me), his production is not nearly as interesting as Born to Die. It gives up the most exciting production choices for more straight ahead blues-rock styling. I will admit that the lyrics may be slightly better... but it's not her best work to date. If you weren't listening to it in 2014, I think it's a skip, honestly. Or for fans that want more, rather.
DEFINITELY listen to her Paradise EP next (along with Young and Beautiful the single for the Gatsby movie), and then NFR (norman f**ing rockwell) that album is my favorite of her’s and it’s easy for someone to get into
id say so it in chronological order for albums. Id also say that initially her first albums were the pulling point for me, i joined the fan base shortly after the nfr album release. The 3 after that arent usually my vibe but since i LOVE her now i can appreciate the albums so much and actually enjoy them a lot. I'd also say dont listen to Ocean Bld again, maybe save it until you've done the rest so you can see if after a while of seeing the Lana world you appreciate it 💕

If u like this more than tunnel under ocean blvb I can already tell lust for life is gonna be for u… paradise ep is also necessary to listen to! I assume next will be ultraviolence reaction. I love this album but when I first heard it I hated it 😭💀… my friend overhyped this album so I went in having high expectations just to be let down… after a week I ended up liking it… now I love it though
🥲im late for video i was totally looking forward for but yes i still think this album made a very big impact on the industry ...lana is the artist where more u listen to more u vibe with the songs so im very excited about next video's i recommend ultraviolence
Norman Fucking Rockwell should def me next. I’m not a die hard fan of hers more of a casual/passive fan and respect her as an artist but that album is so good. Cinnamon Girl and Happiness is a Butterfly was what made me go from “she’s overrated” to “hmm I can see the appeal” also your top 5 are so real
U not liking tunnel under ocean blvb is understandable and I respect that but godamn… this is the only album I’ve actually ever cried to why u got to do it like that 😭…but to be fair that’s mainly cuz I listened to it during a time where I reconnected with family and it was during a time where songs like Kintsugi hit hard
for me, Lana has songs which i love but unlike other artists which i enjoy their albums in their entirety despite skips, her albums really have me bored through the middle and enjoy just a few tracks at the end- dare i say, she has unreleased songs i enjoy more than the released ones sometimes 😅 i guess she has a sound that doesnt always works for me but when it does, it hits hard like i adore diet mountain dew, dark paradise and summertime sadness from this album! but the rest is so forgettable to me and like this is her most acclaimed album u know? that makes me sad 😭 but maybe she'll grow on me ig
Lana’s just not totally for ya it seems, her other albums are so much more niche than this one, they’re not radio friendly at all and so far away from mainstream stuff, so you’ll probably hate them ngl.
i think norman fucking rockwell should be next but you probably should pay more attention to the lyrics and her slower songs sometimes need more to grow on you but it will worth to pay attention if you ask me!!! her songwriting i think is the best at norman fucking rockwell and ocean blvd so you should really take your time with them ok love you bye
You will probably be bored by Ultraviolence, honeymoon, and Ocean Boulevard (Also, you need some trauma to connect with those albums ). Chemtrails and blue banisters are kind to the fans; I find it hard for people who are not big fans of Lana to like those two (Even for me, I love blue banisters but did not connect that much with Chemtrails). So, Do NFR; if you do not like NFR do not continue haha.... Lana is not for everyone, and that is ok! Paradise is another good option as it is a short one that is a continuation of BTD...... and lastly, Lust for Life, which is a wild card that one could be after NFR if you liked it.
@@jasonpaulkim Sounds good; long story short: do the Paradise for the next 9 songs, which are part 2 of BTD, and then do NFR. That will definitely calibrate your taste for Lana. Similarly to evermore, if you do not have enough trauma, some whole albums will be boring, but if you like NFR, you are on safe ground.
Lol don't post the reaction if you are gonna dislike majority of her songs. You gonna get the wrath of Lana stans. With her, either you like it and into it or you don't and think her songs all sound the same.
YUPPP IM HAPPY about THIS! idk why but I view born to die as like Lana’s 1989 😭… or lust for life is her 1989… while the rest of her career is like reputation and red… but her last few albums have been folklore, evermore type beat. You’ll understand what I mean I’m not saying Lana is at all a copy of Taylor she’s very unique

The best thing about watching your videos is waiting in anticipation for you to say "IT'S A BANGER", just for you to say "...eh" lol
lmaooooo
OMG finally, so exited for the rest of the series 🥳
woooo!!!
If u like this more than tunnel under ocean blvb I can already tell lust for life is gonna be for u… paradise ep is also necessary to listen to! I assume next will be ultraviolence reaction. I love this album but when I first heard it I hated it 😭💀… my friend overhyped this album so I went in having high expectations just to be let down… after a week I ended up liking it… now I love it though
thanks for letting me know lol
🥲im late for video i was totally looking forward for but yes i still think this album made a very big impact on the industry ...lana is the artist where more u listen to more u vibe with the songs so im very excited about next video's i recommend ultraviolence
yea tht makes sense :))
Norman Fucking Rockwell should def me next. I’m not a die hard fan of hers more of a casual/passive fan and respect her as an artist but that album is so good. Cinnamon Girl and Happiness is a Butterfly was what made me go from “she’s overrated” to “hmm I can see the appeal” also your top 5 are so real
i definitely recommend listening to the national anthem demo i feel like it has a very different vibe to the released one :) !!
I hope you continue with this LDR journey.
i will :)
PLEASE CONAN GRAY HES INSANE
One of Conan grays new songs are coming out soon
I got into Lana after listening to NFR, so might work for you too :)
thanks for letting me know lol
Good vid don’t forget to listen The paradise ep songs before doing ultra😊
got it
Yassssss. Tbh, her most Western song is “Interlude - The Trio” and imo, it is best to listen to her albums in order.
thanks for the help :)))
You’re so welcome.
i have an album you can listen to 1 year late… it’s called preachers daughter by Ethel Cain
PLEASE DO A CONAN GRAY VIDEO SOON HES RELEASING A NEW SONG SOON!!!!!!
jason coming out with this banger at the same time i'm beginning to obsess over lana and her music 🥹
🥹
U not liking tunnel under ocean blvb is understandable and I respect that but godamn… this is the only album I’ve actually ever cried to why u got to do it like that 😭…but to be fair that’s mainly cuz I listened to it during a time where I reconnected with family and it was during a time where songs like Kintsugi hit hard
ITS TIME FOR CONAN GRAY
i feel like lana is a on and off artist she is very iconic tho and her music is very timeless
i agree tht it's timeless for sure!
for me, Lana has songs which i love but unlike other artists which i enjoy their albums in their entirety despite skips, her albums really have me bored through the middle and enjoy just a few tracks at the end- dare i say, she has unreleased songs i enjoy more than the released ones sometimes 😅 i guess she has a sound that doesnt always works for me but when it does, it hits hard like i adore diet mountain dew, dark paradise and summertime sadness from this album! but the rest is so forgettable to me and like this is her most acclaimed album u know? that makes me sad 😭 but maybe she'll grow on me ig
Lana’s just not totally for ya it seems, her other albums are so much more niche than this one, they’re not radio friendly at all and so far away from mainstream stuff, so you’ll probably hate them ngl.
only one way to find out :)
EVERYONE AGREES YOU NEED TO DO CONAN GRAY!😊
and i will soon
YESS love that ur finally listening to lana!!
yayyy
Hi can you send a link to your Spotify profile 😅🙏
haha check out the description of my bts vid from last week :)
happy to see some lolita appreciation though, tired of people claiming that song is bad!!
it's a banger
i think norman fucking rockwell should be next but you probably should pay more attention to the lyrics and her slower songs sometimes need more to grow on you but it will worth to pay attention if you ask me!!! her songwriting i think is the best at norman fucking rockwell and ocean blvd so you should really take your time with them ok love you bye
yea i def grazed over them in this one but i'll pay closer attention in the next one :)
shout out to the kid playing basketball in the background during the conclusion LMAO
man was hoopin lol
I am here for lana content❤❤❤
yay
CONAN GRAY SHOULD BE NEXT!!
AGREEEE
you should listen to her lust for life album you would prob like that more🙏🏾
thanks for the rec :)
Any songs grew on you?
You will probably be bored by Ultraviolence, honeymoon, and Ocean Boulevard (Also, you need some trauma to connect with those albums ). Chemtrails and blue banisters are kind to the fans; I find it hard for people who are not big fans of Lana to like those two (Even for me, I love blue banisters but did not connect that much with Chemtrails). So, Do NFR; if you do not like NFR do not continue haha.... Lana is not for everyone, and that is ok! Paradise is another good option as it is a short one that is a continuation of BTD...... and lastly, Lust for Life, which is a wild card that one could be after NFR if you liked it.
thanks! i'm prob gonna listen to all of them but this is very helpful
With her, either you like it and into it or you don't and think her songs all sound the same.
not liking 3 songs isn't the majority bro lol
Totally Agree
CONANNNNNNNNNNN
THE DAY IVE BEEN WAITING FOR IS FINALLY HERE
woo!!!
LISTEN TO CONAN GRAY INSTEAD
